Chapter 21

NATALIE

Iris knocks on the door again. “Natalie, you there?”

I can’t do anything aside from moan and whimper as Ethan’s cock moves within me at a punishing pace. His hand over my mouth is muffling all the sounds, but I can feel my juices slipping down my inner thighs, the sensual sounds of flesh striking flesh filling the room.

Iris will hear us.

Oh God, she’ll figure it out.

Oh—

Ethan’s fingers force their way into my mouth, and I know what he expects me to do. As he pounds my cunt, he whispers, “I don’t think the door is locked.”

My eyes widen in panic, and then one particularly hard thrust has me crying out into his fingers. He doesn’t stop, a relentless force, driving me wild, pushing me closer to the edge.

The exquisite sensation of his length rubbing against the most sensitive nerves lights them up, driving me to a state of mindlessness where nothing exists but this delicious torture .

If we’re discovered, if Iris walks in and sees me bent over my desk with Ethan railing me, my reputation will be?—

I shatter, my orgasm being ripped from me with startling intensity.

Ethan pulls out his fingers, yanking me back against his chest, his mouth covering mine as he swallows my cries and howls. He keeps moving, chasing his own pleasure and sending me over the edge once again.

Helplessly, my hips move against him, matching his rhythm as I feel him cum inside me.

My knees buckle, and he holds me against him, slumping into my chair.

“Well,” his voice is gravelly, his lips finding a sensitive spot on my neck. My nether regions are throbbing from the vicious session, and he just laughs when I glance nervously towards the door. “It was locked. Relax.”

Iris is no longer knocking, which means she must have left.

I smack Ethan in the chest. “What if she heard us?! You should have?—”

“Like I would let anyone hear those delicious sounds you make.” He bites my ear lobe and tugs, sending a shiver down my spine.

“Pervert.”

“You need a better comeback than that, sweetheart. For you, my perversions run very high.” His voice drops to that seductive timbre that makes my insides melt.

The term of endearment has me flushing, and he wraps his arms around my waist, his laugh low and tickling my ears. “So, I guess you’re not going to lunch then. How unfortunate.”

His chin is resting on my shoulder now, and I catch him grinning at me, satisfaction evident in those amber eyes. “You could at least pretend to be sorry.”

“Oh. I am. Very sorry. In fact, I’ll take you out to lunch.”

I turn my head away, feigning indifference despite the heat still coursing through my body. “I don’t want to go to lunch with you.”

“Why not?” he chuckles, pressing a kiss against the side of my neck. After all that, he’s getting me worked up once again. My pulse is thrumming, the way his beard grazes my skin, providing a tantalizing sensation that makes me want to arch against him.

One of his hands reaches up and fondles my breast through the thin fabric of my blouse. “We still have half an hour till the lunch break ends. If you don’t want lunch…” His other hand slides below, flicking my throbbing clit. “Do you want to put something else in your mouth?”

My head falls back against his shoulder as he keeps teasing my clit, circling it with maddening precision. “This is very inappropriate. We’re in the office. There are people on the other side of that door.”

“And that seems to make you even more wet,” Ethan smirks. “Dirty, little thing, aren’t you?”

My breath catches, and he slides his finger along my slit, showing me the evidence of my arousal, the glistening wetness coating his digit. “Get under the desk.”

I shouldn’t.

This is the point where I should put my foot down and tell him no.

But I’m moving, sliding down to my knees and taking his hardened shaft in my hands. The way he looks at me, has my lower muscles twitching with renewed desire. Half-masted eyes, amusement and heat glittering in that amber gaze as he watches me take him in my mouth.

His hand smooths my hair back and then grabs a fistful, the slight sting sending another rush of arousal through me, and I know what’s to follow.

It’s going to be a long half hour.

“Where were you at lunch?”

I’m fixing my hair in the washroom when Iris exits out of one of the stalls. “I came looking for you.”

“Sorry.” I give her a small smile while trying to tame my obviously post-sex hair. “I had a meeting with Mr. Wilder.”

Iris grimaces and begins washing her hands. As she’s refreshing her lipstick, she looks at me in the mirror. “I heard from Layla about a possible new hire for my department. She sent me his resume.”

For a moment, I meet her gaze in the mirror, confused, and then it hits me. “Oh, Caleb. Yes.”

“You know him?” Iris turns to face me. “You’ve never hired somebody for my department without running it by me first.”

Her meaning is clear. She doesn’t like me interfering with her people.

“Mr. Wilder sent me his resume,” I tell her with a raised brow and a hint of challenge in my voice.

“If I had scouted a new talent, you would have been informed before I made any decision. Anyway, the CEO interviewed him. I was just told about this yesterday. I was hoping to talk to you over lunch today, but then the meeting happened.”

“Oh, yes.” Iris shudders. “Must’ve been awful. The man terrifies me. I swear when he looks at me, I feel like he’s trying to dissect my soul.”

She takes out a brush from her bag and runs it through her hair before glancing at me and holding it out. “You look like you need this more.”

“My hair’s alright,” I protest, but I accept it anyway knowing she’s probably right.

“You must have had a hell of a day for your hair to be such a mess.” Iris shakes her head. “I’ll see you later. When’s the new hire joining? ”

“Next week.”

Iris smiles tightly. “Can’t wait.”

I raise a brow. “Did you even take a look at his resume?”

She pauses, and I have my answer. I know she’s been through a lot lately, so I keep my voice gentle. “Go over it. Trust me; he’s a good hire. If I had scouted him myself, I couldn’t have found someone better. And this is someone Ethan trusts.”

Iris lets out a heavy sigh. “Alright. I should have looked at it before jumping down your throat. There’s just—Everything’s a mess these days.”

“What do you mean?” Instantly alert, I study her face with growing concern. “What’s going on?”

“My laptop’s been glitching like crazy. I showed it to IT, but they said it’s fine. I was working on the campaign of one of the older models. I nearly lost all the data. Thankfully, I had everything backed up on my personal laptop.”

I consider her words, wondering if I’m being overly paranoid or?—

“Send the laptop to my office tomorrow. I’ll talk to IT to get you a temporary one in the meantime.”

Iris’s lips twitch. “What’re you going to do with the laptop? Are you moonlighting as some tech wiz?”

I grin. “No. But I’ll have it looked at by an actual tech wiz. Or I’ll sit with the IT technician and make sure he doesn’t just do the old ‘did you turn it off and back on’ dance.”

“Thanks, Natalie.” Iris gives me a beaming smile. “I’ll send it over as soon as I get a replacement.”

As she’s about to leave, she tilts her head, a strange look crossing over her face. “Your shirt is on backwards.”

I freeze before laughing awkwardly. “I-I was in a hurry this morning and must’ve put it on like this.”

Iris presses her lips together, a sly look in her eyes. “And I’m sure that’s not a hickey on your neck but a burn from your straightener. You didn’t have that before lunch. ”

It doesn’t take her more than a second to put two and two together and her eyes turn as wide as saucers. “No! You and the Ice-man?!”

“He’s not—Don’t call him that!” I snap, suddenly protective.

“The whole office calls him that. How?” She inspects my neck a little closely and her cheeks turn red. “Well. That’s not the only mark he left.”

“Iris!” I quickly pull up my collar, and she bursts into laughter at my mortified look.

“I could sense there was something going on between you two that day. He just agreed to everything you said. I never imagined, though. So are you two?—?”

“Iris, I really don’t want to talk about this.” My tone makes it clear the subject is closed.

“You must have known him before he came here. You two definitely knew each other.”

“We’re old acquaintances,” I begin, trying to sound casual.

“Acquaintances, my ass.” She’s laughing harder now. “Fine, I won’t ask questions, but be careful not to get caught. If anyone finds out that you and the CEO are more than just employee and boss, there’s going to be a hell of a show to see. He’s not everyone’s fan favorite at the moment.”

As soon as she leaves with that amused warning, I quickly turn to check the hickey on my neck, and my eyes widen. Ethan, that lousy, no-good… I’m going to kill him. I’m going to wring his neck with my two hands. I’m never going to let him touch me again!

Heading into one of the stalls, I fix my shirt with trembling fingers. As I’m doing so, I hear one of the stall doors open. There’s no sound of running water. The occupant quickly hurries out.

My hands pause in the middle of tucking my dress shirt into my skirt when I realize what that means. Iris and I weren’t quiet by any means. Someone was eavesdropping. My heart sinks, a chill spreading through my body.

Somebody in the office heard everything.

I throw open the door but whoever it was, is long gone. Blood cold, I stare at the door.

What do I do now?

Iris has no idea who was in the stall since, according to her, she got there just two minutes before me. And since I can’t go around interrogating all the female employees, I have no choice but to report to Ethan.

He has to know.

Although his reputation won’t take as much of a hit as mine will.
