?It's time to stay up a little later, study a little harder, stand a little taller, smile a little wider and slay a little fiercer. ?
"You sure she lives here?" Olivia asked, looking around us to see if anyone was there. We were outside Ashley's house. It was 11:39. We had half of our faces covered under a black scarf. We could easily pass for burglars. I just hoped we didn't get caught.
"Positive," I whispered to her. She nodded and stepped forward.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked as I pulled her back.
"Going in, of course. How are we supposed to get your revenge without going in?" She asked in a 'duh' tone.
"We can't go in through the gates. What if we get noticed?"
"Well there is no other way inside other than the gates."
"Follow me," I said.
I circled around the house searching for an easy entry. But I found none. The whole house was surrounded by high walls. They were not so high so maybe we could climb up.
"We'll have to climb up," I stated and turned to find Olivia staring at me in horror.
"Maybe I didn't tell you this but I'm afraid of heights." She deadpanned.
"I know but come on, it's not that high. You won't die."
"No way. I'm not fond of ending in the hospital for your stupid revenge plan. Thank you very much," she said, putting her hands in the air and backing away from me.
"Liv, please. You can't back down! I promise you won't get hurt. Please," I pleaded.
"Nope. Not happening."
"Oh come on."
"No," She said sternly.
"I'll pay for your food for the whole week," I tried to convince her.
"Tempting but no."
"I'll complete your homework and help you ace your tests."
"Oh please, I don't fail."
"I'll clean your house, heck even the toilet for a month! Please!"
"Hmm," she mused, contemplating whether to take the offer or not. "Okay. But stick to your words."
"Always have, always will! Now come on!"
I dragged her towards the wall and gave her a boost. To my surprise, she effortlessly climbed up the wall.
"Don't look down!" I whispered to her lest she did and fell down. That wouldn't be good for my plan.
Once she got on the other side safely, I began to climb up.
I placed my hands on the wall and pushed myself up.
I swung my leg over the wall. But my clumsy foot slid off the edge and before I knew it, I had managed to face plant myself in the dirt.
Which of course meant that I fell down a two meter tall wall. How nice.
I saw Olivia beside me and she was silently shaking with laughter.
"Shut up. Let's go," I snapped, giving her a glare as I dusted my jeans off of imaginary dirt.
She quietened eventually and followed me. I soon found Ashley's room. She was there, thankfully asleep.
I silently opened the window of her room. Thank God it was not locked, otherwise we would have came here for nothing. As I pushed open the window wider, the cool night air blew inside the room and the sleeping bitch stirred a little.
I carefully put my leg in the room through the window and managed to get inside without creating any noise. I could be a great burglar. We e even dressed that part.
"Come in," I whispered to Olivia. She bit her lip.
"No. Go ahead. Do what you want. I'll check if anybody is here or not. That way I'll be able to tell you."
"Okay," I said. Silly excuse. I knew she was afraid that we would get caught. But anyhow I could do the work by myself.
I pulled out my scissors. No, I was not going to kill her. At least not yet. No, I was not an idiot. And even if I wanted to, I would have brought a nice, shiny and sharpened knife and not a scissor.
I tiptoed to her bed. She was lying on the bed, one leg on it and another sliding down the bed. She had a short nightdress on. Her hair was spread wildly across her face. In short, she looked like a cave woman right now.
Somebody told me that hair was as important for women as oxygen. Cue my evil grin.
I was not exactly that type of a girl. I didn't care even if someone shaved my head off. But I was sure not all girls were like me. And especially not the queen bee, Ashley.
I picked a lock of her hair and with a swift movement of my scissors, cut it. I did the same to her other long and pretty locks of hair. I cut it in random lengths.
As I was done with the job and ready to leave, I noticed a beautiful purple gown resting beside her walk in closet.
I marveled at the intricate design details on it and sighed. This pretty gown didn't deserved to be worn by Ashley. Once again I took out my lovely pair of scissors and cut it into pieces.
Then again I saw her make up kit lying on the dresser. I smirked. This was getting better and better. I hovered my hand over the make up supplies, deciding on what I should do the art with. I finally picked up her red lipstick.
I carefully went over to her and gently started drawing on her face. I smeared the red lipstick all over her eyes and nose. I applied it on her cheeks to make it look like blush and finally smeared it on her lips to resemble the make up of Joker in The Dark Knight.
"Mmm...kiss me," I heard her mumble against the lipstick, bits of it going into her mouth. My fingers froze around the lipstick. I looked at her and saw that her eyes were still closed.
A quiet moan escaped her lips. "Mmm...Ryder...". Then the most horrific thing happened. She started sucking on the lipstick looking as if she was giving the lipstick a freaking blowjob.
I threw the lipstick on her bed and it landed on the valley of her boobs. I slapped a hand on my mouth to keep myself from laughing. I quickly skipped towards the window as I heard her moan again.
I got out of her room through the window. Olivia was watching me. She looked like she was constipated, but really she was just trying hard not to laugh.
"Let's go," I said and grabbed her hand.
We'd have to climb the wall again. The things I did for Ashley.
I managed to climb over the wall and land safely on the ground, without letting my whole body kiss the ground again. We walked away from her house.
"That was totally evil what you did back there!" Olivia laughed.
"Too bad I wouldn't get to see her reaction," I said.
"Yeah. I wanted to see that too. But that was one sexy dress she has."
"Well, no more now."
She chuckled. "Yeah, speaking of dresses, have you got one for the party?" Olivia asked. God, why was she so excited about the party?
"Um...no. I don't have any," I said, a hope swelling inside of me. I could use the dress excuse to back out of the party.
"I knew it. So I am lending you my dress and you will wear it to the party. No questions, no thanks, and no "you're a lifesaver, Liv" because I know I'm awesome."
I rolled my eyes at her. Well, there goes my hope.
"I was not exactly invited to the party. I would be crashing it then. And I don't want to do that," I tried again.
"No no no. I've got that covered. I've told my friend that you'll be coming too and she was fine with it."
I sighed. No matter what, I would have to go.
"Okay."
My eyes opened to reveal the familiar surroundings of my room. But there was too much light here. I quickly shut my eyes again, the amount of light unbearable. I blinked a few times and my eyes adjusted to the light.
I tried to remember what happened and the previous day burst into awareness. It was Saturday.
I rolled over, eager to feel my soft bed on my back, but I was greeted by nothing but air.
"Aah!" I screamed as I fell down from the bed on my back. I quickly got up.
My back hurt. My eyes drifted to the clock on my bedside table and my eyes widened in shock. It was nine in the morning.
What happened to my 5 am wake up policy?
I had to be at the café before ten!
I quickly grabbed some clothes and a towel and went into the washroom. I quickly brushed my teeth, getting rid of my morning breath. I showered quickly and made myself some toast and omelet.
After breakfast, I picked up my bag and locked my apartment. I walked towards the café.
When I pushed open the door of the café, Mrs. Odin smiled at me pleasantly. Olivia was sipping on her favorite cold coffee and she looked up and smiled at me. I returned her smile.
"Why are you two young ladies so up and early on such a lazy Saturday morning?" Mrs. Odin asked us. She had a magazine in her hands and she looked up at us from behind her big, round spectacles.
"Nothing. We wanted to help you with the work at the café," Olivia answered way too quickly and Mrs. Odin narrowed her eyes at her.
Olivia was never a punctual person, I was.
Me being here early on a lazy Saturday morning was no surprise.
However, Olivia being here early on a lazy Saturday morning was just not normal.
"Spill," She ordered. Olivia gave her a sheepish smile and shook her head. "It's really nothing, Mrs. Odin. We like to help you. I mean, with your old age and all, it's a wonder how you manage this café so well."
"Okay," Mrs. Odin rubbed her palms together. "Enough with the buttering. Now you," Mrs. Odin pointed a finger at me, "tell me. Are you going on a date or something? Don't be shy. Tell me who he is." She pinched my cheeks. "Is he cute like you? Come on, don't be shy."
"It's really nothing. Olivia wanted to attend her friend's stupid party and she's dragging me along," I told her.
"And so you two want to leave early for that." Mrs. Odin stated, completing the story for me.
"Yep," I confirmed. Please, Mrs. Odin, don't say yes. Say no.
"Alright. You two can have the evening and Sunday off," She stated finally. Nothing happened the way I wish it would. How great. "I have to go and visit my grandnephew anyway so the café would remain closed."
"Really?!" Olivia squealed and she ran up to her and hugged the life out of poor Mrs. Odin. "Thank you! How old is he?"
"He's two months old. And you two deserve a holiday. You work so hard at the café. Go and have some fun. Live a little," Yeah because we were the living dead right now. Zombies.
"You're the best, Mrs. Odin! Thank you so much!" Olivia said, visibly excited for the party and I rolled my eyes at her childish excitement.
The rest of the day flew by quickly. Being the start of the weekend, it was quite a busy day. It would even be more crowded in the evening. I hoped Mrs. Odin could manage.
I offered her my help again, not to escape the party, but genuinely concerned about her. She was old and everything, so I hope she would be able to do everything. Though Nick, another worker under her would be with her.
At last, the ancient, slightly rusted clock showed that it was already way past six. As if on cue, Olivia emerged from behind the counter.
"Come on. We can go now. We have to get ready for the party."
I groaned at the mention of the party but nevertheless we headed out of the café. I would be getting ready at Olivia's place because she had the dress and make up.
I was going to take a big risk and trust Olivia with my appearance because I was too illiterate in that field.
We entered Olivia's apartment and went straight to her bedroom. She opened her closet and began rummaging through it to find a dress suitable for me. She had a big closet. At least bigger than mine. Not too small, not too big but fairly decent.
"Ah," she exclaimed as she pulled out a black dress off of the hanger. I stared at the dress. It was something, and it was beautiful.
"Wear this. It would look really good on you," She said and handed the dress to me.
I nodded, taking it from her and making my way to her bathroom. I slid into the outfit and walked out of the bathroom.
Olivia looked up from whatever she was doing to look at me. She smiled and nodded her head in approval.
"You look great. See for yourself."
I turned to look at the mirror. I looked good. "Thanks for the dress. It's beautiful," I said to Olivia.
"We're not done here. There's still make up and hair remaining."
"Okay," I agreed, knowing that my unskilled hands would probably turn myself into a clown. I rarely dressed up or put any make up on. It wasn't that I didn't like doing it, it was just that I didn't know how to no matter how much Olivia taught me.
Olivia made me sit on a chair facing the mirror and started to curl my hair at the ends. She left my long and straight hair loose on my back and pinned some hair on the front behind my ear and away from my face.
She then started doing the make up. Apart from the lipstick and mascara, I didn't know what the other things were but I did remember her mentioning something called blush, lip gloss and eye liner.
She was done with my make up in quite some time and then she started with her own.
After half an hour, she walked out of the bathroom looking drop dead gorgeous. She was wearing a tight red dress with a small slit revealing her thigh and a deep neckline.
"Let's go. We're ready, I guess."
"Yeah."
Olivia slipped into her red high heels and I wore my three inch black heels that I was probably wearing for the first time.
"It's going to be so much fun. I can already tell."
I nodded at her unenthusiastically. I just wanted to get this over and done with.
Little did I know that the party I was about to attend was going to change my life forever. For better or for worse, I could only guess.
Vote, comment, share and follow me! It would mean a lot to me.
Love y'all.
