C H A P T E R 0 6
?Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.?
"Julie," I heard someone whisper to me. I stirred a bit before losing myself to sleep in the silence.
"Julie!" This time the voice was a bit louder.
I opened my eyes slowly. I didn't see anything. It was dark. Or maybe I still had my eyes closed. I opened them furiously, widening them till they were the shape of saucers.
"Julie," I heard the same voice coming from beside me. I turned my head towards my left.
There she was. Olivia.
"Hey Olivia. What're you doing here?" I asked, smiling a bit at her, my eyes wanting to close shut for forever.
She gave me a disbelieving look.
"Did they hit you on your head?"
"What?" I asked.
"We're kidnapped!"
"Wait, what?!"
I looked around, the previous day flooding in my awareness.
I was in a room. Thank God Olivia was with me at least.
The room was big and it was dark. I could hardly see anything. I could make out a bed in front of me and the windows were closed and the curtains pulled over.
"Where are we?" I asked frantically, looking at Olivia who looked like she was going to cry any minute.
"I don't know," Her voice cracked at the last word.
I attempted to lift my hand to see if she was crying as she lowered her head and away from me, but my hands couldn't move.
Only then did I realize that I was tied up to a chair. My hands were tied behind me to the chair and even my legs weren't free to move. I couldn't move. I couldn't get up. I couldn't do anything.
"I'm so sorry, Julie. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have had the drink. But he forced me to drink!"
I frowned at her. "Who is he?"
"Wilma's friend. I don't remember his name. It was Bobby or Bobert or something like that," She closed her eyes tightly.
"Robert," I muttered. "We have to get out of here."
"How? We're tied to these chairs and I can barely move my neck!"
"Oh God." I breathed out.
I was scared. I was beyond scared. I was absolutely terrified.
I didn't know who had kidnapped us. I didn't know why we were kidnapped.
I didn't know where we were. I didn't know if I'd ever be able get out of here with Olivia, alive.
I didn't know if the kidnappers were going to kill us, demand money from us or rape us.
"I don't want to die!" Olivia suddenly shouted. I was startled by her outburst.
"Olivia calm down. We're going to get out of here. Don't shout or they'll come."
"I don't fucking care! Hey, you kidnapper!" She shouted again, glaring at the door as if she knew that the kidnapper was outside the room. "I don't want to die! I'm not a coward like you! Leave us alone! You can't get anything from us!"
"Olivia, shut up!" I said. My breathing became ragged as I felt my heart beat out of my chest. I looked at the door.
Why did I feel like someone was going to enter now?
And sure enough I heard someone's footsteps outside the room. It seemed to be getting closer. Crap.
"Olivia! I'm going to kill you if the kidnappers are going to come in right now!"
She looked at me, feeling guilty for shouting like a maniac. Well, too late to feel guilty now.
I heard low murmurs outside the door and my eyes widened and I looked at Olivia. She had a similar expression plastered on her face.
I looked back at the door and the murmurs died down and it became so quiet that I could hear the sound of silence.
The door knob turned slowly and I nearly peed in my pants. The suspense was too much to take. I swallowed hard even though my throat was dry as a desert. I hadn't eaten anything. But I was not hungry, I was thirsty. I hadn't had a drink of water since last night at the party.
But had it really been last night? Or days? God knows what day it was right now.
I tried to concentrate on the stranger who was opening the door slowly.
Open it! Quick! This was not a freaking horror movie!
Suddenly, I felt a queasy feeling in my stomach. I was feeling as if I was going to puke. I was feeling as if my head was bouncing around the room.
I felt my eyesight get blurry but I could see a figure walk in the room. Something pink came into view and I felt my eyelids getting heavy.
Before I could see the freaking kidnapper, before I could know if we would live or not and before I could look at Olivia to see if she was going to be okay, my eyes closed involuntarily and I fainted.

I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar surrounding. It was not dark as before. But I wasn't concerned about that. I looked around the extra pink room for any sign of Olivia.
She was not here. I felt someone move beside me and I screeched. I slapped a hand over my mouth when I saw it was just Olivia. I breathed a sigh of relief, putting a hand on my rapidly beating heart.
She was sleeping peacefully as if having no care in the world. We were kidnapped for God's sake!
"Wake up!" She didn't move so I began to shake her violently. "Wake up you lazy ass!"
Her eyes shot open and she stared at me for a second before her eyes relaxed and she rolled over.
"Shut up," She said, lazily.
I couldn't believe my ears. Surely they were deceiving me.
"Olivia, get up! We're kidnapped! Did you forget?! We've got to get out of here! Now!"
She jumped out of bed due to my outburst and took deep breaths to calm herself down.
She looked at me and her eyes didn't match my panic and horror. Why was she so calm?
I jumped out of bed too and sprang to the door when I felt her hand wrap around my wrist and pull me back.
"Julie, wait."
I yanked my hand out of her grasp and sprinted towards the door. I tried to open it but it was closed.
"Shit!" I looked back at Olivia and she ran to me. She began pulling me back to bed.
"What're you doing?! We have to get the hell out of here!" I yelled at her.
What did they do to her? Or did they hit her on the head for her to loose common sense?
"Julie I know you are scared but please calm down. I'll explain everything. It's-"
"Shut up!" I cut her off. "Just shut the hell up! Olivia have you gone mad?"
"Julie, enough. You're overreacting. You're safe."
"Go to hell! If you want to die here, it's fine with me. But I don't want to die, thank you so much, so bye."
Before I reached the door, I heard its?handle turn slowly but silently.
The door was quickly yanked open and a big man with a big built, walked in wearing clothes similar to the men who had kidnapped us.
They are the same men, stupid Julie.
I staggered back, intimidated by the man who towered over me.
I held Olivia's hand so tightly that I probably stopped her blood circulation because she tried to loosen my grip on her.
He cleared the door and I debated whether to take the the chance and dash out.
I didn't know if I would ever have such a golden chance again so I was about to dash out when somebody appeared at the door.
She was familiar.
She was...
But what was she doing here?
Did she kidnap me?
I remembered hearing a woman's voice when I was kidnapped. She was that woman I met at the party!
My jaw dropped to the floor.
No way in hell did she kidnap me because of what I did to her at the party. That was just ridiculous.
She walked in, looking nervous. Her shoulders were tense.
"Why did you bring me here?" I asked her.
"Juliet..." She said and her voice cracked at the end. She looked as if she was going to cry.
Juliet?
What the hell was happening?!
"Who are you? Did you bring me here just because I spoilt your precious gown?"
Pain crossed her features and I was confused as to why exactly she brought me here.
"Of course not. Juliet, I know that what I did was wrong. But I thought it was the best for you."
"Kidnapping me is the best for me?" I asked. What the hell was she saying?
"We both know what I'm talking about. Juliet you should have-"
"Wait! I'm Julie, not Juliet! Who the hell is Juliet?!"
A small smile took over her features. "You've not changed. You're still the same even after almost two years. You still like the name Julie. I remember you telling me that Juliet sounds old school," She chuckled. "Okay then Julie, I missed you so much."
I was confused. WHAT. THE. HELL. WAS. SHE. TALKING. ABOUT?!.
"Look, ma'am. I don't know who you are and I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about so I suggest you to let us go. You've kidnapped us!"
"No...I didn't mean to kidnap you but I was just so worried about you and I missed you so much that I-I didn't think about anything before bringing you here."
"I really have no idea as to what you are talking about. And you know what? I'm not interested in hearing it," I said and sprinted towards the door.
"Olivia, run!" I shouted, looking back to see if she was obeying but that idiot stood rooted to her spot.
She had a face on that was telling me that it was a waste to even try to get out.
No harm in trying!
She was definitely crazy.
But I didn't wait for her and dashed down the hallway. I could hear the big man I had seen before, shouting something in his earpiece as I turned to look at him.
I didn't have the slightest idea where I was so I just ran towards any direction that looked safe. I just wanted to get out of the house.
At the end of the too long hallway, there was a spiral staircase.
I ran down the staircase and there was a big hall at the end, pretty much like that at the party, but only grander.
I could see the door. Ah! Freedom!
I sprinted towards it and tried opening the last door to freedom but it wouldn't open.
I saw the man come running down the stairs and behind him were a few men like him.
Seeing a open door at the corner, I ran towards it like a cheetah was chasing me.
I knew the men were getting close to me. I turned back to see where they were and they were right behind me. I quickened my pace.
As I was too busy watching the men, I didn't know where I was running to.
So when I saw where actually I was headed, I started slowing my speed abruptly.
But it was too late. I slammed into a big dark blue thing and the next thing I knew I heard a scream and something splashed into the pool in front of it.
I felt someone grab my arm and I saw the men had caught me.
So much for trying. I struggled under their grip but they held a deathly grip on me.
The old woman came out at the poolside in an instant and gasped.
"Oh no! Ethan, I'm so sorry!" She apologized to the figure in the water.
I turned my attention to the person who was in the pool.
He emerged out of the water. His hair was wet and the water was dripping down from his hair.
His shirt was sticking to his body because of the water and he was quite handsome.
Okay, I was probably stupid to drool over a hot man when I was stuck in a situation like this, but really I wasn't the one to blame.
Now that I was less than a month away from turning nineteen, my teenage hormones were a little excited.
I snapped back to the present. But the description of his hot body turned negative when I saw him glaring at me as if he wanted to kill me then and there. I gulped.
He looking so angry. I was in so much more trouble.
He spit out the water that had went into his mouth.
"My laptop!" His eyes widened in horror as he lifted the laptop from the water. "And my phone!" That was when I noticed the big black phone which was floating in the water.
I was definitely in more trouble.
