Epilogue
DRAKE
It is not every day that you find something that you spend such a long time looking for.
That day happened a few moons ago, and now I finally have her back where she belongs.
I can feel Leon coming toward me even before he has entered the cave. His thoughts running through his head, all of them a mix of fury and pain as always.
“My lord, do you know that a woman is screaming down the hall?” his voice has a slight edge of humor to it that irritates me.
“I do,” I say, the side of my mouth quirking up a little, not caring what he or anyone else has to say.
“I am most certain that kidnapping is illegal in most places,” he chuckles darkly, making me roll my eyes and turn to face him.
“This is not most places, nor do I give a fuck what anyone else thinks or has to say, if they wish to challenge me. Then I will accept” my voice harsh but true.
Leon bows, his long, white curly hair falling around his face as he does.
When his head lifts, his white eyes search my face for a moment. “Do I want to know who it is?” he asks,
“No,” I say deadpan before I move over to my desk and sit down. “Are the Reapers back?” I ask him to change the subject; he exhales and moves closer to me.
I do not have any chairs in my office, as I have no need for anyone to sit with me. That would require talking and being friendly, neither of which I desire to do.
“The ones you sent have returned, my lord”, he declares.
“And Mark?”
“I am here, my lord”, Mark says as he comes into my office and bows low. “I trust you have no more black eyes?” My voice filled with indifference as I smirked.
Mark shakes his head and chuckles. “Any more Seeker Daemons attacking me in resultants, my lord? No,” he answers his own question, knowing I have no patience for tomfoolery. He has been keeping an eye on things, ensuring everything is just as it should be planned.
Gaelan would have taken too long to find Arianna if we hadn't had a little hand in such things. Gaelan now trusts one of my best guards.
“Your father paid them a visit, my lord,” he tells me.
I can see the coronation events flash in his mind as Mark thinks about what happened. “She is indeed very powerful.”
My plan might work.
“Where are they now?” I ask him as I look back down at the map on my desk, each section marked out with who owns what land.
“They went topside, my lord,” Mark states. I nod my head slowly before I stand up.
“Return and let me know when Gaelan and Arianna return to the castle. Also, please inform me immediately if my father revisits them. I may have to pay a visit to the Lord and Lady of Illis soon.” I say as Mark bows and shimmers from my office.
Leon raises an eyebrow at me. “What are you up to?” he asks, grinning.
I smirk at him. “It’s time to finish our plan.”
He scoffs at me, then pauses when he sees I am not joking.
“Leave me,” I bark.
Leon bows and then strides out of my office, and I shimmer to Lucy’s cell.
When she sees me, she stands up and comes charging over to me and starts beating my chest. “Let me go. You can’t just come and take me and do whatever you want to me!
I’m going to call the police and get you arrested.
Let me go!” She yells the last part, which just makes me chuckle.
She has forgotten what she did back at her house, topside.
She had blacked out, killed her friend, and left the house in ruin.
She would always black out when she became the Blood Bringer.
“Let me go!” she shouts again, breaking my thoughts and making me grow low. My hand comes up, and I wrap my finger around her neck, stopping her. Lucy pales in fear, making me grin. I walk her backwards and hold her up against the wall. I use my powers to hold arms above her head.
“You do enjoy testing me, my queen,” my voice dark and low, making her glare at me. Fuck she looks so sexy like this, her hair a mess, looking breathless and ready to kill me. I lean closer and whisper my anger against her lips. “I will teach you a lesson for not listening to me.”
