Chapter 3 End It Here

Gu Qunian stood in the doorway. He seemed to have made up his mind. He looked at me flatly and said, "I regret it."

"Liao Xing, let's end this."

"Why?"

Gu Qunian and I had been together so long, and I was always the one giving in. What right did he have to dump me?

"That girl just now is our dean's daughter. I've fallen for her. She's smart, outstanding, generous, sensible, from a good family. Not like you..."

"We'll never have anything in common. The family situation was already bad, and you only know how to play. I'm truly sick of you."

"And during the time we've been together, I figured something out. I'm not a disgusting homosexual at all."

"At least not with you."

I could take every reason except that one.

It made me look like a joke.

Gu Qunian had been the one who chased me first.

I suddenly remembered. Once, on a whim, I went to his school to pick him up and found him explaining problems to a girl.

That girl seemed to be Li Yuqiu.

No wonder Gu Qunian was especially gentle and patient with her, better to her than to me, his actual Boyfriend.

I fell apart and couldn't help screaming, "If you didn't like me, why did you get together with me back then?!"

Why drag me in, let me fall for him, and then do something this cruel.

Gu Qunian's gaze was cold. He glanced at me with deep disgust.

"Back then you made me so angry my heart hurt. I thought it was love, so I chased you."

"And you actually look pretty ugly when you cry."

No wonder, in all that time together, Gu Qunian had never kissed me first.

Every time I wanted to get close, he pushed me away and said he wasn't used to it.

I put up with all of it. I thought one day he would accept it and slowly get used to me.

From what he said, it seemed he had not liked me from the start.

I held down the pain and punched him hard. "Gu Qunian, you will regret this."

In my third year of high school, I transferred into Gu Qunian's class.

He was the class monitor, strong in character and grades. I was the troublemaker. I hated studying, loved fighting and sleeping, and often dragged the class down.

After graduation, he started chasing me on his own.

Since I was little, my parents had left me to grow on my own. They didn't care about me. They only had eyes for their business, and for their younger son.

On my eighteenth birthday, I waited at home all night. I hoped they would come back and spend one birthday with me.

What came was only a transfer, and one line. "Xingxing, Mom and Dad won't come back this year. Buy whatever you want. If the money isn't enough, tell Mom and Dad."

They were always like that.

They left me at home. I only saw them once or twice a year.

My younger brother, their little son, was always kept beside them.

"He's still little. He can't leave Mom and Dad. Xingxing, you're this big now. You should be sensible. As the older brother, you have to give way to your little brother."

Gu Qunian saw my birthday on the class information form and specially made me a cake with his own hands.

I was moved. Feelings I had held down for a long time burst, and I cried in front of Gu Qunian.

He fumbled to comfort me. "Classmate Liao Xing, if you want, I can spend your birthdays with you from now on."

"Don't be sad. I'm here."

Because of that, I accepted him.

We didn't test into the same university.

He went to a key 985 university, one of the top schools in the country. I could only attend a second-tier college beside his school.

My family had wanted me to go abroad. Back then I was lovesick. To stay with Gu Qunian, I didn't want a long-distance relationship, so I refused.

I never expected it. In only two short years, it seemed he was tired of me.

And I had been stupid enough to really fall for him.
