Lace Promises it all points to something calculated, not random.”
“Fucking hell, Jaxon. I knew it felt purposeful.” I curl my hands into fists at my sides. “If someone targeted her because of something they want from you, it’s best if she’s far away from you.”
“I’m handling it.” Steel sharpens his tone. “You shouldn’t worry yourself with the details.”

“Consider it done.” His certainty should comfort me, but it doesn’t. “Keep her close, Cash. Don’t let her go anywhere alone until I give you the all-clear.”
“And how am I supposed to do that? She goes back to work tomorrow.”
“Is she ready for that?”
“Yes. We met with her team on Friday. If she doesn’t get back to work, then her deal with Marcus Chen gets lost with everything else.”
Livianna opens her car door and peeks out at us. “Callum, we should get going.”
