Chapter 11 The Kiss Interrupted
I shot back, “Don’t talk nonsense! It’s just internal heat!”
“And don’t think you can fool me that easily!”
Pei Muchen pouted, his voice turning tearful.
“I’m your Brother! We grew up together—how could I ever lie to you?”
“You missed me so much you developed delusions. That’s why you imagined three husbands.”
“Think about it. Does society even allow three husbands at once?”
“Haven’t they ever appeared together?”
He... actually made sense.
Fu Zeyan, Shen Xingye, and Qi Qian had never once been in the same place.
“But...”
Pei Muchen lifted my chin and kissed me.
“No buts, Wanwan. It’s been years. Don’t you miss Brother?”
“From now on, I’m your only husband...”
I sank into the kiss, trembling at the forbidden thrill.
He was my Brother.
We grew up together.
He wouldn’t lie to me.
I had no three husbands—only Brother.
Brother was my only husband.
His kiss was pulling me under.
Then my phone blared: “Your husband is calling!”
!!!
......
“Didn’t you say they were illusions?” I demanded. “Then why is my husband calling?”
For a split second, Pei Muchen looked stunned. I bolted toward the sound.
He’d thrown my phone in the trash.
I snatched it up. Shen Xingye’s name glowed on the screen.
“I knew you were lying!”
“See? My husband is looking for me!”
I reached to answer.
Pei Muchen lunged, ripped the phone from my hand, hurled it to the floor, and stomped on it.
“Did I say you could answer?”
“Su Wan, you’re mine. I won’t let you take calls from other men.”
Shen Xingye’s voice crackled through the speaker.
“Who are you? Why do you have Sister’s phone?”
“Shen Xingye, save me—”
Pei Muchen clamped his hand over my mouth.
“Shh.”
“No talking to anyone else.”
