Chapter Six
Charlotte
Iwoke up from what little bit I slept. I have been scared to really close my eyes for fear of what is going to happen. But once the kidnapper dropped off that tray of food, I never heard from them again.
The door opened and in walked a woman, no mask or anything covering her face, but I didn’t recognize her at all. She brought in a breakfast tray and some hygiene products like toothpaste, shower gel, a comb, shampoo and conditioner, towels, rags, and clean clothes.
She went to pick up the tray from yesterday and said, “Here is your breakfast, and we tried to go back to your house to gather some of your things to make you feel more comfortable, but there are people staying there. Please eat, watch TV, or if you want, I can find you some books. If there is anything else you need, just let me know. No one wants to harm you,” the lady said.
“If no one wants to harm me, then why am I here?” I asked.
But the lady didn’t respond.
“You obviously know that people are looking for me if they are at my house. If you want money, then just let me pay you so we can go on with our lives,” I said.
Still no reply.
“Look, just tell me what it is you want. I believe that you don’t want to hurt me. You are going out of your way to feed me, clothe me, and give me everything I need to be comfortable except a phone,” I said.
But she just looked at me for a minute, then walked out the door and locked it.
None of this makes sense. I look at the tray and decide that I will eat it. I am actually starving, and it smelled so good.
After I finished eating, I headed into the bathroom, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair.
Then I found the remote on the nightstand and found something on to watch or at least to make some noise in the room.
I tried to think of anyone who could be doing this and what it could be able to do.
I also tried to place the lady, but I still have no idea who she is.
I don’t understand why they just want to tell me what they want so that we can just get it over with.
