15. "I'll have to see yours to make a decision on that."
I ran out of the bathroom, the door to my room flying open at the same time as Aiden ran in frantically.
"What happened?" He demanded, appearing ready to fight.
I collapsed into his arms, impulsively wrapping my arms around him.
"What?!" He demanded more loudly, one of his arms wrapping around my bare waist.
I pointed to the bathroom, whimpering. He pulled me away from him, making me stand aside as he strode to the bathroom and closed the door.
The next second, an exasperated sigh sounded from his mouth. "Aysel, don't tell me this is why you screamed."
I whimpered again, covering my face as more tears flowed out of my eyes. He walked out of the bathroom, glaring at me.
"Do something!" I screamed at him amidst my tears.
"You're unbelievable." He uttered, clicking his tongue in disapproval, somehow calm despite my outburst.
I cried, my lower lip quivering. "Please. Kill it."
He huffed in annoyance, disappearing into the bathroom again. He re-appeared a minute later, walking up to me. "It's dead." He declared.
I sighed in relief, sniffling.
He shook his head at me, his face reflecting disbelief. "You screamed like that over a cockroach? And cried because of it too? You're... this is ridiculous." He palmed his face.
I sniffled more. "It's ugly and scary!"
He rolled his eyes. "I thought someone broke in or something!"
More tears flowed out of my eyes.
He huffed. "Stop crying. It's dead." But I couldn't.
He sighed, putting his hand on my back and pulling me to his chest. I laid my head on his chest, crying out all my tears as he held me.
When I finally stopped crying, I pulled away, wiping my cheeks with my palms as embarrassment consumed me. "I'm sorry." I uttered hoarsely, timidly meeting his eyes.
"It's okay." He replied, his gaze dropping to my chest.
That was when I remembered that I was only wearing a bra.
I gasped loudly, covering my chest with my hands as amusement danced in his eyes. "Look away!" I exclaimed.
He chuckled, actually complying and looking away. "I've already seen it, but okay." He uttered playfully, causing me to slap his chest.
He caught my hand, settling his gaze on my face. "Behave." He warned.
We stared intensely at each other for a few seconds, until an interruption came through.
"Hello? What happened?" A female voice sounded from the door. I peeked around Aiden's huge body to look at the source.
It was the same girl he had been promiscuously making out with in his living room.
So she is Luna.
A strange feeling settled in the pit of my stomach at the sight of her.
To make matters better (note the sarcasm), she happened to be in only her lingerie.
I averted my gaze from her, looking down.
"Go back and wait for me." Aiden said in a commanding tone that sent shivers down my spine.
She obeyed, leaving in an instant.
I sucked in a breath, noticing his eyes roaming over my chest again.
"My eyes are up here." I told him.
He met my eyes again, mischief dancing in his dark brown orbs. "If only your eyes were as lovely."
I rolled my eyes, fighting my blush. "You have a half naked girl waiting in your bedroom. You can look at her all you want," I said, pointing with my head toward the door. "Hers are better anyway." I mumbled before I could stop myself.
His face eased up into a smirk. "I'll have to see yours to make a decision on that."
My eyes widened at his boldness. "Get out!"
I gasped, stiffening as his lips neared my earlobe, his hot breath falling on it. "Everything here belongs to me. This is my house."
I shuddered, struggling to think of what to say while his upper body almost touched my half clad one and his lips ghosted over my earlobe.
"Oh and little one?"
"H-hmm?"
"Don't disturb me again, okay? This is the second time you did this. You're not letting me get past foreplay." His voice was teasing.
My eyes widened, my cheeks turning crimson. I still couldn't find words to say.
"I'll be very busy... the entire night." He whispered in my ear.
"G-go then!"
"Good night, little one." He murmured, moving a lock of my hair behind my ear before leaving.
Leaving me alone with the strange feeling in my heart that I refused to put a name on.
———
I sat eating pancakes in the kitchen that Nina had made. I really wished I could have whipped cream with it, but apparently the big, cold man didn't like whipped cream, so there was none in the house.
I heard footsteps approach the kitchen and looked up to see Aiden.
"Hey." He said casually, opening the fridge.
"Morning." I replied dryly, sneaking glances at him.
He hummed, retrieving an apple from the fridge before washing it in the sink. I frowned as I watched him bite into it afterwards while I finished my pancakes.
"Is that all you're eating?" I asked, my frown staying.
He hummed a reply, sitting opposite to me, running his free hand through his hair. "I'm tired. I didn't sleep the whole night." He said suggestively, a ghost of a smirk on his lips.
I kept my eyes away from him. Shameless man.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Yes." I lied. I spent the entire night imagining what was going on in his bedroom and losing my sanity over it. Stupid, pointless and pathetic, I know.
He sighed. "My night was very worthwhile."
I rolled my eyes. "I would prefer asking the girl how hers was. Did she get any pleasure or were you done in two minutes?"
He smirked. "Why don't you try for yourself and see how long I last?"
I choked on my pancake, coughing hysterically. He left his chair, returning with a glass of water which he placed in front of me, before patting my back gently as I coughed.
After recovering from my coughing fit, I drank the water before setting the glass back on the table.
"Careful, little one." He stroked my hair.
I slapped his hand away, glaring at him.
He didn't react, finishing his apple and throwing its centre in the bin. "Let's go. I'll drop you to the hospital."
"You didn't have breakfast." I pointed out.
"I just did."
"Just an apple? How will you survive on that?" I asked him incredulously.
He rolled his eyes. "I'll be fine. Come."
"Are you trying to keep me away?" I asked innocently.
He looked at me, confused.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away, you know." I explained.
He rolled his eyes again. "Thanks for the reminder. I'll eat at least ten every day."
I stood up. "I'll make it easy for you and go away myself."
He grabbed my arm as I headed for the door, nearing my ear. "If you keep saying that, I'll have to chain you to your bed."
I shivered at his words, pulling my arm away from his hold.
"Mr. Knight?" Nina appeared.
"What?" He asked, creating distance between us.
"Your phone is ringing." She informed him.
He left immediately.
"Do you want anything else, miss?" She asked me.
I smiled at her. "No, thank you."
She nodded, carrying the dishes to the sink and proceeded to wash them.
I bit my lip as something came to my mind. "Um... Nina?"
"Yes, miss?"
I cleared my throat. "That girl from last night... does she come here often?"
"Sometimes." She replied.
"Oh... did she leave early this morning?" I inquired.
"No. I saw Mr. Knight telling her to leave last night." She revealed.
"Really? What time?" I asked curiously.
"Around 9." She responded.
I blinked, surprised. He left my room around 9 pm last night after I had a panic attack seeing the cockroach. He told that girl to leave afterwards? But why? And why did he keep bragging about sleeping with her the entire night?
Was he trying to make me jealous? Stupid man.
Aiden Knight just kept surprising me more and more with how unpredictable he was.
