Chapter Thirty-Six Krish

Ever since Davix shared his revelation about Corrina and how we are reacting to her, I have tried to ignore my body’s response for the sake of our friendship.

But seeing Slade run his hands over Corrina and kiss her and look at her with hunger has awakened something within me.

Anger, jealousy, but most of all longing.

I find myself wondering how it would feel to press my lips to her skin the way that Slade did, to feel the full length of her body pressed against mine.

We lay together in the nest often when she visits, but it is not the same as it would be to have her body fully pressed to mine or to feel her bare skin.

And such thoughts have only grown in frequency and intensity.

I have felt Corrina’s small hands against my skin before.

They are warm and soft and pleasant. But now I find my mind wandering to how it might feel to have her fingers trace down my stomach, to tease open my cock sheath, and wrap her hands around my length.

I wonder if she would show the same curious intensity about the size and shape of me as she shows about so many other things about me.

And I wonder, as I did at the lake, what it would taste like to run my tongue across her skin.

Does all of her taste like that ripe sweetness I sometimes detect in her scent?

My cock sheath throbs, and I am suddenly grateful for the fact that we wear clothes all the time now so that no one could see the way my body trembles at Corrina’s proximity.

“I’m having dinner with Slade tomorrow,” Corrina says, rousing me from my thoughts. “So, I probably won’t come by after work.”

“What about after dinner?” Davix signs.

Corrina smiles, but she avoids meeting any of our eyes. “I don’t know,” she says. “We haven’t seen each other in a long time. We have a lot of catching up to do.”

“Should we come with you?” Zann asks. “If he is your friend also, maybe we can all be friends.” He glances at me when I let out a low growl. I do not want to be friends with Slade, despite how reasonable Zann’s suggestion seems.

“That’s okay,” Corrina replies quickly. “He’s honestly not around all that often. Even I never know when he’s going to show up again.”

“That does not sound like a very good friend,” Zann says softly.

“No, it’s fine,” Corrina says. “It’s just the way he is. It’s the way he’s always been.”

“Not a good friend,” Davix signs, but Corrina doesn’t see.

“Anyway, I just thought I’d let you know.

It’s no big deal. What are we watching tonight?

” she asks, changing the subject. I settle against her in the nest, letting my arm drape across her stomach as Zann pulls up some options on the console screen.

Davix is right. It is not a sign of being a good friend to not tell someone when you will see them next.

But I do not think that Slade is interested in Corrina’s friendship.

???

The following night, Davix’s lips curl in displeasure as we watch Slade wrap an arm around Corrina and pull her closer.

They are eating at a restaurant that Corrina specifically said is one of her least favorites, but she is there with him anyway.

I hiss as I watch Slade bring a hand to her face and cup her cheek before tucking a loose strand behind her ear.

He leans in to whisper something to her, and I see her shiver slightly in response.

Zann did not think we should follow Corrina to her dinner with Slade, but he is here beside us watching just as intently as we are.

It was surprisingly easy to follow her. Even if we didn’t know her scent almost as well as each other’s, she has been distracted by Slade’s hands and chatter.

She didn’t notice us trailing behind her, nor did she notice when we slipped into the shadows of an alley across from the restaurant.

“We should not be here,” Zann repeats for the third time, but he makes no move to leave.

“She should not be here with him,” Davix signs angrily. “She should be with us.”

“She is not our female,” Zann replies, and both Davix and I turn to stare at him.

“You’re right,” I tell him. “But she should be.” As soon as I say the words, I feel the truth of them. “She should be ours,” I say more firmly.

“What if she only wants us to be friends?” Zann asks. “What if she wants to be Slade’s or another’s?”

I turn my gaze back to the restaurant where Corrina turns her cheek to meet Slade’s lips. “Maybe she does not want to be ours,” I say, “but I do not think she wants to be his.”
