Chapter Fifty-Two Krish

Corrina and Davix are still asleep in the nest, arms wrapped around each other with her head tucked beneath his chin, as I stretch and yawn beside them.

Once more, I find myself staring at the sight of one of my brood brothers and our female curled together in the nest. I am fascinated by the contrast between her brown skin and ours.

It is particularly fascinating when one of us has his cock buried inside her warm, responsive body.

But even in quiet moments like this, I feel sometimes as if I cannot look away.

Corrina stirs slightly, and Davix’s arms loosen with her movement and then tighten around her when she settles.

He has always been a fierce protector and seeing that protectiveness extend to Corrina fills me with joy.

I know that having her in his arms and in our nest has also done much to help ease Davix’s guilt and worry over her being injured.

I glance up as I feel Zann approach. He glances down at the nest and grins.

“Should we wake them?” he signs. I shake my head, partly because I am just enjoying watching them sleep.

Zann eases himself into the nest and curls behind me, propping his head up on one arm to join me in staring at Corrina.

“As much as I am enjoying all the fucking, Corrina should probably be doing other physical training,” Zann says softly. “She needs to regain her strength so that she can retake her position as Commander.”

“Yes. I know her role and authority mean a lot to her,” I agree. “Even if a part of me wishes we could just stay here in the nest forever. But she would miss Curran, and I would miss our other friends.”

Corrina yawns and stretches, and Davix’s eyes blink open sleepily.

I don’t think I have ever seen him look so content as he does when he wakes with Corrina in his arms. “Hey you,” Corrina murmurs with a smile.

I do not know for sure who she is talking to, but I don’t really care.

I like the slight rumble in her voice when she first wakes.

“Are you hungry?” Zann asks immediately. “There is food ready, if you want to eat. I only need to warm it.”

“Food does sound good,” Corrina replies.

A few minutes later, we are gathered around the small table with Corrina perched on my lap. “I remember you saying that someone has to be family to live on the base. Would being in a marriage contract make us family?”

Corrina stops suddenly. “You want to be in a marriage contract with me?” she asks curiously.

“Of course,” Zann replies. “You belong with us and we belong with you. Isn’t that what a marriage contract means?”

“Yeah, I guess, I just.” Her voice trails off. “I guess I’m just surprised.”

“You are supposed to ask something like that in a different way,” I scold Zann. “There should be flowers or lots of people or a celebration.”

“But you are the one who brought up a marriage contract,” Zann protests.

“Yes, but I was only asking generally.”

Zann frowns. “Should I have arranged for other people to witness us asking for a marriage contract?”

“Not in my case, no,” Corrina says with a laugh. “You three are all the witnesses I need.” She pauses and looks uncomfortable for a moment. “Are you really sure?”

“Yes,” Davix signs emphatically. “Are you?”

Corrina looks thoughtful. “A part of me feels like it’s a little crazy, but I am. Being with you, all three of you, just feels right. It’s feels like, like home.”

“It feels like being part of a brood,” I murmur, pressing a kiss to the back of Corrina’s head. “You cannot explain how it feels exactly, just that you know you belong together.”

“Yes, exactly,” Corrina replies. She turns in my lap to capture my face in her hands and gives me a soft kiss.

“I will talk to Curran about a marriage contract,” Zann says. “But we also need to work on helping you build your strength back. Perhaps after we eat, we can do some sparring.”

“I’m not sure I’m up for that yet,” Corrina replies warily.

“It is okay,” I assure her. “Zann used to train the kits. He can be gentle with you to start.”

“But not too gentle,” Zann says firmly. “Or else how will Corrina get stronger again?”
