Chapter 8 A Hand on My Waist
I couldn't tell what had struck that string at the bottom of my heart.
Maybe it was the scornful look in Qin Zhimin's eyes. Maybe it was the contempt in his words.
Either way, I failed to hold it in, and I cried.
Tears ran like a snapped kite string. I couldn't pull them back.
Qin Zhimin looked at a loss. Panic covered his face.
He hurried to wipe my tears. "What are you crying for? Which of my words was wrong?
"All right, all right. I'm sorry. I said it wrong. Stop crying."
I slapped his hand away and tried to hold the tears in.
"Qin Zhimin, I hate you."
After I said it, I rushed into the elevator without looking back.
After that day, I thought Qin Zhimin and I would go back to our own lives for good.
Like two parallel lines that could never meet.
Until that afternoon, when Qin Zhimin came to my Tattoo Shop.
It was the weekend. Business was decent.
Feng Yi had asked for leave a few days ago and gone home. I was the only one left in the shop, and I could barely keep up.
"Owner, why isn't it my turn yet?"
A rough-looking street guy seemed displeased.
I turned and soothed him. "Don't rush. This guy will be done in a moment."
The noise behind me stopped. I focused on the pattern in front of me.
A hand suddenly rested on my waist.
"Owner, I've been watching you for a long time. You're so pretty. How about being my girlfriend?"
My face sank. I was thinking of what to say.
The hand at my waist suddenly let go. When I turned, the street guy was already on the ground.
The man standing in front of him wore a tailored suit and was casually rolling his wrist.
Face cold as water, Qin Zhimin threw several more punches into the man's face.
"Where do you think you're putting your hand? Hm?"
After he asked, two more punches landed.
The man on the ground couldn't get a word out anymore. The other customers in the shop fled one after another.
When I saw Qin Zhimin about to hit him again, I rushed forward and caught his swinging arm.
"Stop. Hit him any more and you'll beat him to death."
Only then did Qin Zhimin stop. He turned his head and looked at me, eyes red.
But he didn't say anything.
I dialed 120 and sent the unconscious street guy to the hospital.
What followed was handled by Qin Zhimin's assistant.
In the Tattoo Shop, I cleaned the blood on the floor. Qin Zhimin stood quietly to the side and watched.
"Song Sheng."
He suddenly called me. "Don't you have anything to say to me?"
I felt baffled. I thought for a moment, then said, "Thank you."
If it hadn't been for him, I probably couldn't have avoided being taken advantage of today.
Things like that had happened plenty of times before, but they still disgusted me.
"Only that?"
"What else?"
"Why didn't you tell me you never took the Five Hundred Thousand my mom gave you?"
