Chapter 37 Exactly Where Im Meant To Be
Amelia POV
The house was loud.
Very loud.
Which means something is happening.
Or Ryan is talking.
Or both.
I walked downstairs slowly.
Already suspicious.
"Why is everyone here," I asked.
Clara turned immediately.
"Because we live here."
"You know what I mean."
Sophie smiled.
"We're celebrating."
"...What are we celebrating."
Ryan grinned.
"You."
Oh no.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
Sebastian, standing next to Sophie, just watched quietly.
But there was a small smile there.
And Sophie noticed.
Of course she did.
Clara grabbed my arm.
"You're in a real relationship."
"That is not something we celebrate with this much energy."
"It is for us."
Ryan nodded.
"It definitely is."
I covered my face.
"This is embarrassing."
"You love it," Clara said.
"I don't."
"You do."
I do a little.
I won't admit that.
Before I could respond...
Small footsteps.
Noah.
He walked straight to me.
Of course.
"Amelia."
"Yes?"
He grabbed my hand.
Like always.
Then looked at Dominic.
Then back at me.
And smiled.
That small, quiet smile.
And I swear...
That was enough.
That alone made everything worth it.
Ryan suddenly clapped again.
"Speech."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
Dominic stepped closer beside me.
Calm.
Steady.
And for some reason...
That made this easier.
"I'm not giving a speech," I said.
"Say something," Clara insisted.
I sighed.
"...Fine."
Everyone went quiet.
Which was intimidating.
Very intimidating.
I looked around.
At all of them.
Clara.
Sophie.
Ryan.
Sebastian.
Noah.
Then Dominic.
And something in my chest softened.
Because this...
This wasn't just about me anymore.
It was about all of us.
"I didn't plan any of this," I said slowly.
"I came here for a job."
"And somehow..."
I laughed a little.
"...this happened."
Ryan nodded.
"It did."
I pointed at him.
"Stop interrupting."
"Sorry."
He was not sorry.
I looked back at everyone.
"But I think..." I continued, softer now,
"I think this is exactly where I'm meant to be."
Silence.
Then Clara smiled.
Sophie looked emotional.
Ryan actually didn't speak for once.
Miracle.
Sebastian nodded slightly.
And Noah...
He just held my hand tighter.
I looked up at Dominic.
He was already looking at me.
And this time...
He smiled.
Fully.
No holding back.
And I swear...
I felt it.
Like something settled.
Like everything finally made sense.
I smiled back.
And for once...
I didn't overthink it.
Because I didn't need to.
Because this wasn't temporary.
This wasn't fake.
This was real.
And I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
