The Commander (A Sci Fi Erotic Alien Short)

By Rebecca Crowe

Chapter One

Zara couldn't take her eyes off the tall, azure-skinned alien striding across the crowded spaceport promenade.

He moved with a predatory grace, his lean muscles rippling beneath the shimmering fabric of his flight suit.

A pair of elegantly curved horns swept back from his forehead, lending him a regal, almost demonic allure.

As if sensing her gaze, he turned and met her stare with piercing silver eyes.

Zara felt a flush of heat race through her body.

She knew she shouldn't be so drawn to a Tylician, with the decades of conflict and mistrust between their peoples.

But the raw magnetism and exotic beauty of this man was overwhelming.

Never breaking eye contact, he altered course and began moving straight toward her, the crowd parting before him.

Zara's heart pounded but she found herself rooted in place, transfixed.

He stopped an arm's length away and looked down at her with those mesmerizing quicksilver eyes.

Up close, she could see the gemlike scales that dusted his high cheekbones, shimmering in hues of sapphire and cobalt.

"I am Commander Zain of the Tylician Deep Fleet," he said, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. "And you are the most breathtaking creature I've ever beheld."

Zara blushed at the bold compliment, suddenly tongue-tied in his imposing presence.

She stammered out her name and title as a junior officer in the Bailiwick Defense Forces.

Fraternizing with a Tylician was strictly forbidden.

But the way Zain was looking at her, with blatant desire bordering on hunger, made her want to throw caution to the solar wind.

Zara felt dizzy with a heady mix of nerves and anticipation as Zain stepped even closer, his body nearly brushing hers. She could feel the radiant heat of him, could catch the faint spicy musk of his skin. This close, she had to crane her neck to meet his molten gaze.

"I must see you again," Zain said, his long elegant fingers grazing her cheek, leaving tingles in their wake. "Have a drink with me tonight, Zara of the Bailiwick Forces. I wish to know everything about you."

His touch, his proximity, the velvety persuasion in his voice—it was all too much. The rational part of Zara's mind screamed at her to walk away, that consorting with a Tylician could cost her her career, her reputation, maybe even her freedom. But her body and heart had other ideas.

"Yes," she heard herself breathe. "I'll meet you after my shift ends. At the Nebula Lounge, in the civilian sector."

Zain's sculpted lips curved into a smile that managed to be both sinful and triumphant. "Until tonight then, sweet Zara." He took her hand in his and raised it to his mouth, brushing his lips across her knuckles. The intimate gesture sent a jolt of electricity arcing through her.

Then he was gone, striding away as quickly as he'd appeared, lost in the bustle of the crowded port.

Zara released a shuddering breath, her head spinning, the ghost of his touch still tingling on her skin.

What had she just agreed to? A clandestine meeting with a Tylician commander?

It was beyond reckless. But the prospect filled her with a thrilling expectancy she'd never experienced before.

All she knew was that she craved more of the wild, exhilarating sensations this alien man roused in her. Her life had been a series of rigid order and protocols. But Zain made her want to rebel, to take a walk on the wild side for once. Consequences be damned.

As Zara headed to her post, she could hardly focus on her duties, her mind consumed with thoughts of her impending rendezvous and the dark desires those luminous quicksilver eyes had promised.
