Memphis

I check my watch for the umpteenth time in thirty minutes. We were supposed to get on the bus and leave for the next city two hours ago, but both Storm and Sky are MIA.

Chandler told us he saw the two of them leave the hotel in a black SUV this afternoon but didn’t know where they were headed.

Phoenix mentioned he had plans with Storm, but Storm never went into detail about what those plans were, therefore he forgot and ended up grabbing a bite to eat with Josh instead.

Chandler’s been calling them—and their chauffeur—nonstop but no one is answering.

What the fuck could they be doing?

Jealousy snakes up my spine and an insidious thought goes through my head. I never should have indulged her little fantasy—or Storm’s kink—and invited him to watch us the other night.

Sky’s arguably the most gorgeous and sexiest woman on the planet. Of course, the fucker fell for her. Friendship be damned.

As for Sky? Well, it’s clear being faithful isn’t exactly her strong suit.

Low blow, Memphis.

I know damn well there’s a whole lot of gray area and extenuating circumstances behind our relationship.

Still doesn’t explain where the hell she is, though.

Grinding my teeth, I pace the kitchen area of the bus. “This is fucking bullshit.”

Josh nods in agreement. “Such fucking bullshit.”

“Total fucking bullshit,” Chandler mutters.

I’m debating telling Chandler that I want the piece of shit chauffeur fired when Phoenix—who’s sitting at the table and munching on some popcorn—rolls his eyes. “You three need to chill the fuck out. They’ll be back.”

I open my mouth to tell him that if he wants to keep those million-dollar vocal cords, he better shut the fuck up, but the bus doors open and a cheery Storm and Sky walk up the stairs.

“Where the fuck were you?” Josh and I shout at the same time.

Phoenix and Chandler exchange a glance, but Storm undoes his belt, shoves his pants down, and turns around…showing everyone his bare ass.

And the freshly tatted rainbow unicorn on it.

Holy shit. The fucker actually did it.

Josh and Phoenix begin howling with laughter.

“Is that a pony?”

“It’s a unicorn,” Storm snaps, swiftly pulling up his jeans.

Yeah, that doesn’t make it any better, bro.

“You must really enjoy getting pegged.” Phoenix snorts. “That horn is like a bright neon sign pointing right at your asshole.”

When Storm glares at him he holds up his hands. “No judgment here, man. Although the spooning makes total sense now.”

So does them running off together.

Not that I was jealous or anything.

Chandler—whose face is red with anger—narrows his beady eyes. “You held us up for over two hours to get a fucking unicorn on your ass?”

Storm opens and closes his mouth like a fish before blurting out, “Well, I wasn’t the only one who got a tattoo today.”

Sky shoots him a dirty look. “Thanks a lot, friend.”

The only thing more surprising than the unicorn on Storm’s ass is Skylar getting a tattoo.

I’m about to ask to see it, but Josh beats me to it. “Hold up. You got a tattoo? Let me see.”

Sky slowly backs away. “No. It’s somewhere…hidden.”

Safe to say I’m even more intrigued. So is everyone else.

Stepping toward her, Josh huffs. “Oh, come on, babe. We’ve all seen you naked.”

He tries to lift her shirt, but she shoves him away before I commit murder.

“You’re killing me,” Josh whines. “Stop being a baby.”

I open my mouth to tell her she doesn’t have to show him or anyone else shit, but she reluctantly unzips her jeans and slides one side down her hip bone…revealing a small purple guitar.

One that’s nearly identical to mine.

“What the actual fuck?” Josh squawks. “Are you serious right now?”

“What?” Sky says, appearing both innocent and confused. “I thought you’d like it.”

Josh is the one who appears confused now. “Why the hell would I like it?”

“Because you’re a bassist,” she drawls like he’s slow on the uptake.

Josh looks equal parts disgusted and horrified. “That’s not a bass guitar.”

No, it’s not, motherfucker.

If it was, it would be bigger, have a longer neck, and thicker strings. Four of them to be exact…maybe five at most. But definitely not six.

All things Sky already knows.

The girl should earn an award for her acting skills right now.

I bite back a smile, and our eyes lock for about two seconds before her mouth drops open in shock. “It’s not?”

“No. And why the fuck is it purple?” Josh bites out, his tone threatening.

A little too threatening.

I’m about to turn his face purple, but Sky exclaims, “Because it’s my favorite color. You know this.” She frowns. “I told the guy I wanted a purple bass guitar.” She nudges Storm with her elbow. “Right?”

“Heard it with my own two ears,” Storm chimes in.

It’s clear he’s thoroughly enjoying this, too.

“Obviously the idiot didn’t hear the bass part.” Josh snatches her arm. “Come on. We’re going back right now so he can’t fix this shit.”

“He won’t,” I inform him, zeroing in on the hand wrapped around her arm. The fucker won’t have to worry about playing bass ever again because he’s about to lose his fingers.

“The fuck he won’t,” Josh spits, dropping her arm and getting in my face.

“She just got that done. He won’t touch her again until it’s healed. No reputable tattoo artist will.”

Phoenix nods. “He’s right.”

Sky jumps when he kicks the small garbage can. “Enjoy that ugly thing while it lasts.”

Sky rolls her eyes as he stomps off to the back of the bus, but then Chandler gives her a “fix this now” look and she begrudgingly goes after him.

“I mean, all things considered, it’s still a nice tattoo.” Phoenix eyes me skeptically. “Looks a little familiar, though. Don’t you think?”

Storm lifts a shoulder in a shrug, his gaze falling on me. “I think she got exactly what she wanted.”
