Chapter 11

Belladonna

The moment her eyes narrowed, I knew I was in trouble.

Aurora's jealousy was a living thing, a shadow that crept across her perfect features and twisted her mouth into something both beautiful and terrifying.

I'd seen that look before, but never in a room full of dignitaries, never with so many watchful eyes ready to witness whatever storm was brewing behind those icy blue eyes of hers.

"Aurora?" I whispered, trying to make sense of what was happening. The ambassadors from the neighboring kingdoms had merely been making polite conversation—nothing that warranted this seething intensity radiating from her.

She didn't answer. Her hand closed around my wrist, fingers digging in with enough pressure to bruise. The pulse in my neck quickened as she pulled me from my place along the wall, dragging me past shocked faces and hushed whispers until we reached the front of the grand hall.

"What the hell are you doing?" I hissed, stumbling as she positioned me between the assembled crowd and the ornate throne that dominated the room.

"I changed my mind." Aurora's lips brushed my ear, her breath winter-cold. "Teaching them a lesson about boundaries."

"No one was... This isn't... They weren't—" The words died in my throat as I felt it—the first whisper of her shadow magic unfurling in the air around us.

Dark tendrils, substantial as silk but black as starless night, slithered from the corners of the room. I tried to step back, but Aurora stood firm behind me, one hand on my shoulder, the other now tangled in my hair.

"You're mine, Belladonna," she announced, her voice carrying to every corner of the suddenly silent hall. "And it seems some of our guests need a reminder of that fact. So I intend to show them so there's no question."

The shadows coiled around my wrists first, gentle but unyielding. I tugged against them, feeling a flutter of panic that clashed with something darker, something hungrier that I didn't want to acknowledge. Not here. Not in front of everyone.

"Aurora, please," I whispered. "You're overreacting. No one was interested in me like that. This is?—"

"Silence." The command wasn't loud, but it carried the weight of the century she'd spent trapped in the nightmare realm, the power she'd accumulated in that prison of sleep and darkness.

The ropes of shadow tightened, sliding up my arms in intricate patterns.

I'd seen rope work before—had even practiced it in private spaces with willing partners—but this was different.

The shadows knew exactly where to press, where to cinch, where to display.

They wrapped around my chest, emphasizing the swell of my breasts, slithered across my waist to highlight the curve of my hips.

"Aurora," I tried again, desperation creeping into my voice. "I don't want anyone else. I never did. It's only been you since the moment I found you."

A small smile played at the corners of her perfectly painted lips. "I know that, my love. This isn't about what you want." Her gaze swept over the assembly. "It's about what they think they can have."

More shadow ropes appeared, weaving through the air with purpose.

They caught my arms, pulling them upward until they were extended above my head.

Others wrapped around my ankles, slowly, inexorably drawing my legs apart until I stood exposed, vulnerable, displayed like a sacrifice before the altar of Aurora's possessiveness.

A flush of heat crawled up my neck as I realized what was happening. "Aurora, not here," I pleaded, my voice catching. "These people are dignitaries, ambassadors?—"

"All the more reason they should understand," she cut in, her voice carrying across the hall.

"Belladonna is mine. My hunter. My savior.

My possession." Her hand traced the line of my jaw, tenderly at odds with the cruel display she was orchestrating.

"She belongs to me, body and soul. And since you've all been so interested in touching what is mine... "

My heart hammered against my ribs. The shadows receded, leaving actual rope in their place. At least my clothes were still intact, I thought desperately. There was that small dignity preserved.

As if she'd read my mind, Aurora stepped away, creating distance between us. When she turned to face me, her expression had transformed into something both regal and savage. "I think I'll show everyone exactly what they can't have."

A pit of anxiety erupted in my gut. "Aurora," I whispered, the word barely audible even to my own ears. "Please don't do this."

She cocked her head, studying me with the detached curiosity of a collector examining a particularly interesting specimen. "You freed me from my prison, Bell. You woke me from my sleep. But you never quite understood what you unleashed, did you?"

Before I could respond, one of her shadow tendrils sliced through the air—a quicksilver movement that I felt more than saw. The fabric of my vest and shirt parted like water, the right side falling away to expose my breast to the chill air and the wide eyes of the assembled court.

A collective gasp rippled through the room. My own breath caught in my throat, trapped somewhere between shock and a darker, more primitive emotion I couldn't name.

"Aurora," I begged, straining against the ropes that held me immobile. "This is madness. You're overreacting. No one was?—"

Another slash of shadow, and my left breast spilled free, the nipple immediately hardening in the cold air of the hall. The humiliation burned through me, setting my face aflame, but beneath it was something else, something that curled low in my belly and sent liquid heat between my thighs.

Some twisted part of me loved this. Loved that she was jealous enough, possessive enough to claim me so publicly.

After bringing her back from the nightmare realm, after breaking the curse that had held her for a century, I'd sometimes wondered if I'd just been a means to an end.

If the connection I felt was one-sided, a hunter's obsession with the prey that had become her savior.

But this... this was proof. Territorial, excessive, inappropriate proof—but proof nonetheless.

"Even this," Aurora said, her voice cold and calculating as she drew one finger down my sternum, between my exposed breasts, "belongs to me."

Her shadow magic gathered at her fingertips, then lashed out again. My slacks split like they were made of paper, peeling away to expose more and more of my skin to the hungry eyes of the court. Slash after slash followed, each cut precise, each movement accompanied by another possessive claim.

"Your skin is mine."

Slash.

"Your breath is mine."

Slash.

"Your pleasure is mine to give or withhold."

Slash.

Until there was nothing left but shreds of fabric clinging to my body like desperate memories of modesty. The shadow ropes adjusted, spreading my legs wider until I was completely open, my most intimate parts revealed to the entire assembly.

Murmurs filled the room—shock, titillation, disapproval—but I barely heard them over the rushing of blood in my ears. Humiliation crashed over me in waves, but beneath it, keeping pace with my racing heart, was a shameful, pulsing arousal that I couldn't hide, couldn't deny, couldn't fight.

Aurora's eyes met mine, and I saw the hunger there, the dark satisfaction. She knew exactly what she was doing to me, and exactly what effect it was having.

"I'm not nearly finished," she called out, her gaze still locked with mine even as she addressed the room.

"Since you all felt the need to touch what belongs to me—" She paused, letting the accusation hang in the air.

"Then perhaps I should show you how I touch her.

All the places you brushed against. All the places you imagined your hands might wander. "

My mouth went dry. I opened my lips to protest, but before any sound could emerge, a shadow tendril slid over my chest, curled around my neck, and brushed against my lips.

"If you need to breathe, my love," Aurora said with deceptive gentleness, "simply snap your fingers."

I parted my lips to ask what she meant, and the shadow rushed forward, invading my mouth and pushing deeper until it hit the back of my throat.

I gagged, tears springing to my eyes, but refused to snap my fingers.

This was a challenge… to them, to me, to whatever fragile thing existed between Aurora and myself, and I wouldn't back down.

The shadow began to move, withdrawing slightly before pushing back in, fucking my mouth in a steady rhythm that made my eyes water and my chest heave.

Another tendril of darkness wrapped around my leg, slithering up my inner thigh, leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake.

It reached the apex of my thighs and paused, as if savoring the moment, before parting my most intimate parts and sliding inside.

I moaned around the shadow in my mouth, the sound muffled but unmistakable. The tendril inside me thickened, stretched, filled me until I felt the delicious pressure of being completely possessed.

When I coughed, choking slightly on the intrusion in my throat, the shadow withdrew just enough to let me catch my breath.

That momentary reprieve was all I had before I felt another shadow climbing my other leg.

Instead of joining its counterpart between my thighs, it slid between the cheeks of my ass, circling my hole with teasing pressure before slowly, gently working its way inside.

From somewhere beyond the haze of sensation, I heard Aurora moan. "Look at you," she breathed, her voice thick with desire. "Taking all of me. So beautiful. So perfect."

Her fingers traced the stretched corner of my mouth where the shadow disappeared between my lips. "I won't stop until you come for them, Bell. Until everyone in this room knows exactly who makes you scream."

I shook my head as much as the constraints would allow. No. Not that. Not here. Orgasming in front of all these people was too intimate, too personal, too... mine. Ours.

"No?" Aurora raised an eyebrow, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "You think you have a choice? I'll make you come whether you want to or not. Your pleasure belongs to me, remember?"

I tried to resist, to focus on the humiliation, the audience, anything but the building pressure inside me.

But the shadows were relentless. They returned to my mouth, pushing deeper, more insistently.

New tendrils appeared, wrapping around my breasts, squeezing my nipples, pulling my hair with just enough force to send sparks down my spine.

Every sensitive spot, every secret place that made me weak—Aurora knew them all, and she used that knowledge mercilessly. A shadow flicked across my clit, circling the sensitive bundle of nerves until my hips bucked involuntarily against my restraints.

"Fight it all you want," Aurora called, her voice carrying over the pounding of blood in my ears. "You will come apart for me. You will come for all of these witnesses."

I held back with everything I had, my body trembling with the effort. Sweat beaded on my skin, my muscles clenched, my lungs burned. But still I resisted, some last scrap of pride refusing to surrender.

Then I felt it… a brush of something beyond the physical.

Aurora's emotions crashed over me through our blood bond, a tsunami of possessiveness, desire, affection, and fear so powerful it knocked the breath from my lungs.

Her presence enveloped me, as tangible as the shadows that filled and surrounded me, and something inside me shattered.

The orgasm ripped through me like a storm, violent and overwhelming.

I screamed around the shadow in my mouth, my body convulsing with pleasure so intense it bordered on pain.

The tendrils withdrew from my throat, allowing my cries to echo through the silent hall as wave after wave of pleasure crashed over me.

But Aurora wasn't done. The shadows doubled down, moving faster, pushing deeper, flicking and rubbing and penetrating until I felt another climax building on the heels of the first.

"Again," she commanded, her voice tight with her own arousal. "Show them who you belong to."

The second orgasm was stronger than the first, a supernova that exploded outward from my core. My vision blurred, my hearing dimmed, and something hot and wet sprayed from between my legs, splashing onto the floor and running down my thighs.

"She's squirting," Aurora announced to the stunned audience, pride evident in every syllable. "That's what happens when I pleasure what's mine."

My consciousness wavered, dipping in and out as the shadows continued their relentless assault.

A third orgasm followed, then a fourth, each one dragging me deeper into a place where only sensation existed—no thought, no embarrassment, no resistance.

Just Aurora and me and the pleasure she wrung from my body.

I didn't know how long it continued. Time lost all meaning in that haze of ecstasy and exhaustion. Eventually, the shadows receded, the ropes loosened, and I collapsed forward into Aurora's waiting arms.

She caught me easily, cradling me against her chest as my legs gave out entirely. Her lips brushed against my temple, my cheek, the corner of my mouth.

"If you ever let another touch you like that again," she whispered, her words for me alone, "the punishment will make this look like a gentle caress."

I shivered, too spent to form words, but she must have felt my acquiescence through our bond.

"I never thought I would say this to anyone," she continued, her voice softer now, almost fragile. "I never thought I would feel this. But I love you, Belladonna. More than the nightmare realm. More than my revenge. More than the power I've spent a century accumulating."

She turned us away from the silent crowd, shielding my naked, trembling body with her own as she carried me toward the door. "Our future is uncertain," she murmured against my hair. "But this I promise you, I will always protect what's mine."

Her lips found mine in a kiss that was surprisingly gentle given the savagery of what had just transpired. In that kiss, I tasted her vulnerability, her fear, the century of loneliness that had shaped her into something both monstrous and divine.

And as consciousness finally slipped away, I knew with absolute certainty that I would follow her anywhere—into nightmares, into darkness, into whatever unknown future awaited us both.
