Chapter 11

GISELLE’S EYES SHOT OPEN a few moments later, and she gasped in a breath, her hands immediately clutching at her neck. Fuck, her throat burned like molten lava had been poured down it, her ears ringing.

Slowly, she focused on the alien hovered over her, grunting as he coated her aching cunt with warm seed. His eyes were wide too, pupils returned to their normal slit-like state even as his climax raced through him.

“Are you alright? Giselle?” Vrix muttered in between shallow thrusts, before stopping his movement.

She screamed, or tried to, the sound coming out as a rattling groan.

He wanted to kill her, was going to kill her. These monsters had lulled her into thinking they respected her, cared for her, but still, she was nothing to them. A pathetic, defenseless human.

“I-I am sorry,” he said, his voice breaking.

He was still on top of her, still caging her to the bed, his cock still pulsing inside her as sticky cum oozed from her used cunt.

Clawed fingers brushed gently through her hair and his chest heaved as if he were holding back tears. The door whooshed open and she didn’t have to look to know who it was.

“What happened?” Thase asked, stomping over to the bed and glaring at the two of them.

“I didn’t mean to hurt her,” Vrix whimpered, squeezing her tighter and forcing a cough from her aching lungs.

“Get out,” Thase said, each word punctuated by the growl of his voice.

“It was an accident!”

Vrix refused to let go and Thase crossed his arms over his chest, a vicious glower directed at the other Dalgur.

“Get out. Now.”

Giselle’s head still ached, her whole body weak, and she didn’t know what was preferable. Staying here with Vrix, who had almost killed her, or waiting to see what Thase wanted to do to her.

Again, she prayed to whatever deity was listening to kill her quickly if that was what was going to happen.

The tension in the room could be cut with a knife, and finally Vrix slid out of her. His seed dripped onto the sheets as he got off the bed, cowering underneath Thase’s scowl. With one last sad look, he hurried out of the whooshing chrome door.

Thase followed him with a piercing gaze, and when he disappeared, turned back to Giselle.

“What happened?”

His voice was gruff, but he made no move to join her in the bed.

Her answer came out in a rasp, anxiety electrifying her nerves.

“I… used my fingers, my hand on Vrix’s sheath. I didn’t realize… he went crazy or something, pounced on me and wouldn’t take his hand off my throat. I think I passed out.”

She scrutinized him as she spoke, tensing as he took a step towards her.

Thase slid into the bed, sitting against the headboard and pulling her into his arms. He brushed her hair, so similar to the way Vrix did, and Giselle sighed despite the fear coursing through her.

“It will be alright, dear one. You are okay.”

Tears fell down her cheeks, and she wiped them away, sniffling as he continued to stroke her hair. She gazed up at him, softened by his calm voice, his comforting words.

Thase brought his fingers to her neck, and she winced, pain rearing even with the gentle touch. He lifted his hand a few inches so a small tentacle could emerge from the palm. It pressed against her tender skin and she winced again, though almost immediately the pain gave way to relief.

“What you did with Vrix is very intimate. It is considered taboo by Dalgurs, an act of pleasure that cannot lead to reproduction. An act of… love. It is no wonder he lost control with you.”

“Taboo?” Giselle rasped.

She couldn’t even begin to consider the other word he’d used. Love.

“Dalgurs believe that copulation should be for reproduction purposes only. Two Dalgurs reproduce by expelling their seed and eggs into a womb, artificial or symbiotic. Copulation with another Dalgur could never lead to life—not without a proper host—so it is frowned upon.”

Thase brushed a hand across her cheek, the gentle scratch of his claws sending a shiver down her spine.

“But there is more to sex than reproduction, is there not? Pleasure and pain, two sensations that are worth exploring, worth exalting.”

His words chilled her, the hand at her cheek brushing down her neck and collarbone.

He was right, of course. She’d never wanted children, but sex?

That was something she very much enjoyed.

The way the Dalgurs pushed her body and mind to its limits while they used her—it was unlike anything she’d ever experienced.

Certainly worth exalting.

But as erotic as it all had been, she didn’t really want to die. And Vrix had been out of control.

Giselle narrowed her eyes, unable to stop the words from coming out.

“He tried to kill me.”

Thase frowned.

“Vrix… he has trouble controlling himself at times. We have tried to remember how fragile our human pets are, but it can be easy to forget. We can be quite vigorous with each other because Dalgurs are hardy, but you are not the same.”

With just a few words, he brought her back to reality. This wasn’t some dream vacation, an early retirement in a beautiful seaside cove.

She’d been abducted, and other humans had been killed because of their obsession with reproduction, with pleasure. Her chest ached and she needed space. She couldn’t breathe, as if Vrix still held his clawed hand to her throat.

Giselle pushed away from Thase, stepping gingerly out of the bed and backing into a corner. She was a rabbit and they were the wolves, destroying any in their path.

“Please, just let me go back to Earth,” she cried.

They would kill her if she didn’t, kill her like all the rest of them. The poor souls who’d died unspeakable deaths.

Her eyes darted to the door as it whooshed open, Vrix entering with a look of wide-eyed terror. It matched Thase’s, who stood from the bed, his hands in fists at his sides.

Tears flooded her, the futility of it all crashing down on her with a vengeance. She didn’t want to die. Of course not, not even after all Thase and Vrix had subjected her to.

Giselle wanted to survive, and these aliens were nothing but danger.

Vrix let out a whimper and Thase took a step towards her, but she treaded back, pressing against the wall.

“Please, don’t touch me! Just let me go! I want to go home!”

Giselle’s voice was harsh, gravelly, emotion knotting her throat and making it difficult to speak.

Thase took another step forward, and she held her arms up, as if that could ward these monsters off.

Vrix put a hand on Thase’s shoulder, grasping him tightly.

“Thase! I do not wish to lose this one.”

He looked back at Vrix with a somber expression.

“Nor do I.”

Thase turned to her, his eyes soft. None of the darkness she was used to.

“Giselle, please. Vrix made a mistake. I will make sure he does not do it again. We have learned our lesson. We will not harm you.”

“Learned your lesson by killing people! Brutalizing them for your own sick pleasure!”

Her screech echoed through the small room.

The aliens glanced at each other, as if communicating without words, pupils narrowing and widening.

Sobs wracked her body, the fear of death and inevitability of her destruction pressing down on her like a weight, making her body shake.

“Precious one, please. I am sorry. I won’t do it again, I… it was too much, it was overwhelming. I won’t do it again.”

Vrix was crying, tears streaking down his purple skin as he pleaded with her.

“How can I trust you?” she asked, her voice wavering.

Thase eyed Vrix, then answered.

“Giselle, we do not wish to lose you. Please believe us. We want you to stay with us. We… care about you. Our special little human.”

His words were calm, so gentle compared to the harsh way he normally spoke of humanity.

But her mind was spinning, unable to focus, the room going blurry as tears distorted her vision. How could she know if they were telling the truth?

Vrix took another step towards her and she slid to the ground, making herself as small as possible. He reached a trembling hand down.

“Please, sweet one. Forgive me. I will be good. I will not hurt you again.”

He was begging her, but she ignored him, unable to absolve the abuse he’d just committed against her.

Thase stepped up to her as well, holding his hand out, his eyes pleading.

“Giselle, my dear, come to bed. You will feel better after you rest. I will not let Vrix hurt you.”

Fuck. She was so dizzy, so weak, and she needed something, anything, to stop the world from spinning.

She grasped his hand tightly and serenity flowed through her, though no tentacles extruded from his skin.

It was his touch that calmed her, despite how Vrix had brutalized her a moment ago.

The swell of panic eased, the look in the eyes of the two Dalgurs so sad, so desperate.

Thase lifted Giselle to her feet, pulling her flush with his chest as Vrix trembled at their sides. After a few tranquil moments, Thase took both of their hands, drawing them towards the bed.

He got her settled in the middle, Vrix and him flanking her on either side, squeezing her between them as they’d done back on the Starlet.

“It is alright, dear one, you are safe. We will keep you safe,” Thase said, wiping her tears away with a gentle hand.

“We will take care of you,” Vrix assured, brushing clawed fingers through her hair.

She had no choice but to let them hold her, their words soothing the icy dread that still clung to her.
