8. Chapter 3

Evie

Present Day

Gregor‘s feet are resting on his wilted desk, his arms behind his head with a relaxed demeanor. His hairy belly is sticking out over his worn out jeans, peeking out under his worn out polo. Just looking at him makes me want to vomit.

“Ahhh, girl, to what do I owe the pleasure of doing business with you today?” He asks as I stand in front of him.

There’s a man with slicked-back black hair standing at his side with an AK in hand.

As if that would stop me. What I would love to do more than anything, is to jab my knife into Gregor's throat, and watch his blood gurgle out. Unfortunately, I’m not there yet.

The very important word being yet. Because one day, I swear his blood will be on my blade.

Of course he wants to play games. It’s always the games with him. He can never just be straight forward.

“Stop playing Gregor, you know exactly why I’m here.” My high pony sways at my back as I crack my neck.

“No, Evie, I want you to tell me. Tell me you need me. Tell me you would be on the streets if it wasn't for me,” he says with a sly grin.

The audacity of this raunchy ass mother fucker.

My hands ball into fists, before I force myself to relax.

I can’t let my anger show, or let anyone around me know who I really am.

If I were to do that, then all of these mother fuckers would have to die at my hands.

I slowly let go of the breath I’m holding, and grind my teeth together.

If it wasn’t for Lizzy, I’d say fuck all this.

“Gregor, I am here to pick up some product. Thank you for letting me give you money, so that I can get some more dope to sell.” I smile the fakest, cheesiest smile I can muster.

“I don’t know if that’s exactly what I was looking for,” he responds.

I feel my temper getting ready to flare at any second. I just want to take his head and twist it, to see if I could snap his neck.

“Gregor, I’m so very thankful,” I mumble through gritted teeth. I swear this man has it coming to him.

The slimy sleazeball pulls his boots off the desk, setting them on the floor. He stands and walks to the front of the desk, leaning back against it, crossing his arms. “I expect more respect from you. Or do we need to pay you a little visit later?”

Of course the bastard has to go all high and mighty on me.

If he even steps near my fucked up living space, I might actually get the chance to slice his throat.

A small smile starts to make its way across my face, I swear his face drops.

“Gregor, please stop with this small chit chat. I need to get going. I have a lot of stuff to get done today. You want your money, don’t you?

” I throw a wad of bills onto his desk. “Or maybe I need to go across the tracks, to see if I can try my luck somewhere else?”

Gregor’s brows furrow, then he snorts. “Yeah, I’d like to see that. You would die, little girl. Playing gangster with the big dogs. This isn’t a game.” Little does he know, I would happily tie him up on a noose. It might take me a few pulls, but I’ll eventually get to see his neck flop.

Fuck, I need to get this rage out tonight.

I have so much anger built up, I feel like I can’t even stand still.

“Whatever you say. But since you don’t want my money.

” I move to grab the wad of cash, when his nasty, sweaty, cheeto hand grabs mine, and all I can think about is washing off his residue.

‘Touch me again, fat guy.’ How I wish I could say that to his face.

‘Not yet, not yet’, I keep reminding myself, I need to be patient.

In the end, I’ll get what I want, but we all have our roles to play in this lifestyle, including me.

“What do you want?” I say as I try to force my voice to crack a little, trying to seem scared.

I hate this shit. ‘No weakness’ has been my motto since, and I can’t afford any slip ups now.

No one can know who I am or about my past. To open that back up would be like inviting the Demons into my life again, to play with their doll that got away. I shiver just at the thought.

“Here,” one of his men tosses over a few pounds of weed onto his desk.

“Watch yourself, Evie.” And with that he shoos me away like I’m gum on the bottom of his caved-in shoes.

As if I am scum of the earth. No, I’m not him, I think sarcastically.

He thinks he’s a fat god who should be fed grapes by someone.

Eww. That thought alone has me shoving everything in my bag and zipping it up as quickly as I can.

“Evie,” Gregor yells out. “Don’t forget this conversation. I mean it, watch your back. The word on the street is, some shit is about to go down.” Starting to feel worried, I turn and head back out the way I came in. Shit is getting way too weird for me here.

I continue to walk, picking up my pace a little as my mind runs rampant. What was Gregor even talking about? I wrack my brain, trying to think of any motive for him warning me. Every excuse I come up with is nothing good.

Sirens ring out, startling me, so I sneak off and hide behind one of the graffiti covered buildings. Doors slam shut and I turn my head slightly to see who could be there…

“No,” I whisper to myself out loud. Fuck no!

This can not be happening. Emmit walks out like he owns the place.

Honestly, he really fucking does, him and the Demon Boys.

I lick my lips. He turns, his golden skin with dark tattoos shining in the sunlight, as he starts having a short-lived conversation with an officer.
