31. Chapter 26

Evie

Present Day

I really don’t want to be here. Going anywhere near Damion’s or Marcus’s dads is a bad idea.

I knew they always hated me. They would purposefully put me in positions to get at the guys.

The sad part is I would just do whatever no questions asked.

I just wanted to prove myself worthy. I thought if I did what their dads wanted then maybe the guys would find me worthy.

Now all I can think about is how I want to slit their throats when they're sleeping. Trust me it’s cane across my mine more than once. Evil can take all forms. You can look a handsome man in the eyes and no matter how good he looks on the outside that doesn't make him good on the inside.

A cough causes me to jump as I realize we’re here.

Ok Evie keep the shadows blend in and try not to make yourself look obvious.

Only I would have to talk myself through this crap.

I shouldn’t have to. I have come across so much in my life.

I feel myself dragging as we walk through the wide open doors.

Men talk. Stop and look. All eyes travel up and down my body, another thing I could not stand.

If I could pull out their eyes I would. Do men not know how to keep those to themselves?

I'm starting to think someone will have to teach them their manners.

I make a scoff with my mouth. Eyes avert to my face.

“Yes boys' eyes up here.” I tap my face.

The place hasn't changed much. I whip my head around and take in the space. It looks exactly as I remember. An oversized man’s cave.

Men drinking beer watching TV oversized couches and chairs.

The warehouse is huge and spreads into untouched rooms. Some of those rooms I have become very familiar with.

Unfortunately. I sigh. I really thought that I could move past all this.

But the more things are getting brought up the more I think it would be best if I just left.

“Oh Evie is that you.” The voice has me wincing. I straighten my spine and whip my head around.

“Of course it’s me. Who else would it be.” I ask sarcastically. He god damn knows who I am. Damion’s dad comes in for a hug, as if we are long lost friends. He grips my shoulders and takes an earnest look at me. “Well aren’t you beautiful. I guess it’s a good thing you belong to the Demon Boys.”

I plaster on a fake smile. “Is that so?” I say as the smoke starts to break.

“You were to be fully initiated. You have our markings so now it’s time Evie.

Or are you going to run away.” His arms come around his body.

“I could make other arrangements.” Other arrangements are ones where no one will ever see me again.

Lizzy needs me. I have to keep her in mind before I do anything irrational.

Could just pull out my knife and slit through his throat now.

But I told myself I would follow this through.

I already have more enemies than allies.

Damion comes up next to me and grips my love handle as he whispers in my ear. “Be good. I see your hand twitching. Don’t make any sudden moves Evie, we won't let him kill you.”

I laugh a little bit, brushing him off like he was saying something flirtatious. I mean, if him telling me that he won’t let them kill me is flirtatious then I guess so.

“What do you mean?” I turn to his father.

“You still have to complete everything in order to, well,” he taps his jaw with his tattooed fingers, “live.” He says bluntly.

“You lived this life you know how it goes Evie. Don’t act like you're new to this. When you decide to get that.” He points to my knuckles.

“You took an oath so now we make sure that oath is silenced for life.” His face contorts almost like he wants to smile, but he can’t.

My knee bends in and I groan in pain as a foot kicks me in at the back of the knee.

“All bitches deserve to be on their knees, it’s all they're good at. I heard you're pretty good.” Marcus’s dad stands behind me.

His beefy arms are on display showing his ranks within the gang.

Thinking that’s going to scare me. I snort.

Marcus looks like he is going to kill someone.

I truly hope I’m not the one at the end of that gaze.

“What do you think, son? Did her lips feel good wrapped around your dick? Did she swallow your cum like a good girl?” Marcus’s dad smiles, knowing he’s hitting a soft spot.

“She’s our responsibility father, let us handle her.” Marcus sounds annoyed like he’s ready to gut the room.

“Ya like before. We all saw how that worked.” Marcus tenses at his fathers words. “We didn’t even get the chance to fully initiate her.” I slowly try to get up as Marcus‘s father presses his hand down into my shoulder.

“You’re not going anywhere ever again at that.

” he tackles as if it’s the funniest thing in the world.

I stare up into his cool blue eyes. To think that he is related to Marcus sends a chill down my spine.

I can’t believe these two people are related.

A few guys start moving into the room with their guns out.

My hand twitches as it creeps to my thigh.

Just as I’m getting ready to grab it, two arms pull me up. Sylus looks at me and winks.

“Not here sweetness.” He grabs my ass under the skirt and squeezes. “We have other stuff to worry about tonight.”
