Epilogue

The day Mu Qing killed himself.

I had just finished seizing Uncle Qin's assets.

When my men brought the news, I paused.

"He said his family, his lover, and his friends were all here. If he died, he wanted to die at The Docks."

"Should we throw his body out?"

I was silent for a while.

"Forget it. Leave it."

I stood, walked to the window, and looked down at The Docks.

The people who used to stand here with me were all gone.

Maybe loneliness was the final cost of power.

The road ahead was still long. The storms at The Docks never stopped.

I needed to be colder and more ruthless to keep leading it forward.
