Chapter 19
Cairo
As soon as I walked in the bitches flocked to me like bees to honey.
During the preparation of the party, I remember telling Jackie and all the women in the family not to invite any of their friends because I knew what would happen.
I’m far from conceited but I also knew women fantasized over me.
They either wanted my money or kids and to this day I haven’t given it to anyone.
Well, Victoria did get money but I cleared out all her bank accounts, even ones she assumed I knew nothing about.
I also returned all items that still had tags on them.
Rosalina and some of my cousins took all of Victoria’s old clothes, shoes and purses to the goodwill.
I made sure to get a tax write off paper because they making hella money in those places which should be illegal.
How were they even allowed to put price tags on items that got donated?
I gave zero fucks as long as any remnants of her were gone.
Anyway, I wasn’t at the hall yet when Kateri arrived but Jackie sent me a photo and I must say it did her no justice because my dick was twitching watching her walk towards me.
The dress was fitted perfectly and showed off her shape.
The shoes made her a tad bit taller and to be honest, Kateri looked beautiful tonight and there was no other way to say it.
When she stopped in front of me, her perfume overpowered the four chicks standing there and her smile made her entire appearance even more sexy. Grabbing her hand in mine, I led her out the door. Stopping by the patio door, I lifted her hand and turned her in a circle to get a birds eye view.
“You look good as fuck in this cheap ass outfit.” Her facial expression displayed anger. Snatching her hand away, she backed up.
“How do you know I didn’t spend a lot of money on my outfit?” Was she serious?
“How much was the dress?” When she said twenty dollars, I started laughing because I was right.
“Every person in here has money and I can tell you, that nothing they’re wearing cost less than five hundred to a thousand dollars; including a belt.
Even those bitches next to me probably spent their paychecks just to wear expensive shit to be here in hopes I’ll want them. ” She folded her arms across her chest.
“Well do you?”
“As of right this second, no but I’ll have to see later. I mean, what if you kill me telepathically before the night ends.” Her laugh wasn’t loud but it made me smile.
“My mother always said it didn’t matter how much money a person had when it came to their wealth. The only thing that did matter was making do with what they had and if it made them happy. Are you happy with your life?” I asked wanting to learn more about her.
“Actually I am. Money is good and can buy happiness from what some say but not being wealthy is good too.”
“How so?” I’ve never not had money so I had to hear her out.
“Because you don’t have to worry about anyone trying to leech off you or people having expectations of certain things.
I don’t know, maybe I’m corny and unrealistic when it comes to money.
” As she continued speaking about not caring about the things money could buy, my outlook on her started to change.
Maybe she wasn’t a loser and did have a good head on her shoulders.
“How does it feel being wealthy? Does it bother you that people always want something from you?” I looked up and saw Manny and Felix standing down the hall smirking.
“Let’s finish this conversation later.”
“Ummmm ok.” Leaning down to kiss her, she pecked my lips and wiped her lip gloss off.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. The last time we kissed, I was turned on and since we’re here, I’m not going to set myself up to need the bathroom.” That made me laugh.
“You need to start being honest with yourself.” I had her walking next to me.
“What do you mean?”
“Your ass was turned on as soon as you saw me.” She stopped, making me turn around.
“Why are you so full of yourself?”
“Never full of myself but very confident in what I possess.” I never understood why a man should lower his self-esteem to appease someone. Women refuse to do it and I damn sure won’t.
“And what’s that?” Walking her to the door, I told Felix and Manny to give me a second.
“Intellect, personality, wisdom and some amazing sex.” Soon as she bit down on her lip, I knew she was gonna be like putty in the bedroom. Anything I did or said turned her horny ass on.
“I hope you have some pussy wipes in that clutch because we’re gonna be here for a while.
So unless you’re taking a shower before we fuck, I suggest you make sure that coochie clean.
” Her gasp and the clutching of her fake pearls had me hysterical.
Again, she was easily offended and I loved doing it.
Making my way to where Manny and Felix were, I turned around to make sure Kateri went in.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were feeling shorty.” Manny handed me a blunt as we headed outside to smoke.
“She’s pretty and from what Rosalina said, she’ll give you a run for your money but don’t forget who she really is.” Felix reminded me of the truth.
“They look nothing alike which is why I’ve been speaking to her more.”
“That may be so but be prepared when she learns the truth.” Felix patted the top of my shoulder and left me and Manny outside.
“What do you think?” I turned to him.
“To be honest, if you’re feeling her then go for it. If not, then fuck her and move on. It’s not like she didn’t know the type of man you were beforehand.” He shrugged. I had to agree with him about that. Kateri knew the type of man I was and still seemed to be attracted to me.
“As far as the other shit, once she falls for you, she most likely won’t care. Unfortunately, it will be a risk but if she’s worth it, then it is what it is.”
“Listen to my little cousin talking some good shit.” Manny was the youngest of us that were together 24/7 and he’s never really said anything smart when it came to women.
It was always, “As long as she can fuck and suck good, nothing else mattered.” To hear him making some sense was a bit refreshing. Maybe he was growing up.
“I’m just saying. Since Victoria, you haven’t said too many words to women.
You make them leave after sex and with Kateri, you haven’t had any sexual contact and you’re still around her.
” A grin crept on my face. She was definitely growing on me which was weird because my main goal was to take her life and I’ve changed that since being around her.
Walking back inside, we went into the ballroom and I swear every family member wanted to speak.
It was either a new business plan, hooking them up with a different position, and a few asked for their friends who graduated college to get a job.
Two of my aunts were bold enough to ask for a million dollars each.
I felt like a damn king because even as we sat down to eat dinner it was nonstop at my seat.
At one point, Raul went to the DJ booth and told everyone to leave me the fuck alone and not to ask him either.
He may not be as wealthy as me but him and Manny had a lot of money as well and they almost always went to them if I said no.
The crazy part about it was Manny and Raul put it a lotta work to be wealthy where other family wanted it given to them.
“She’s very pretty son.” My mom took a seat next to me.
Kateri, Rosalina, Jackie and even Sariah were on the dance floor.
None of the women had shoes on and seemed to be having fun.
It was a relief to see all of my family being comfortable around Kateri because they hated Victoria from the first day they met her.
“She’s alright.” My mom laughed. I took a sip of my drink.
“Then why haven’t you taken your eyes off of her. And why was it told that all the men can look at her but not touch or ask her out.” My mother was the only one besides my pops who would call me out on my shit.
“I know the reason she’s still breathing but what I’m confused about is why haven’t you told her. Do you think she’ll leave you alone?” I’m not sure why I haven’t revealed the truth of how we met and at this point it felt unnecessary.
“Ma, we’re not a couple.” She turned my face to hers.
“Yet.” She smiled.
“I have faith in my son to do what’s right and make her see the real you.
The man who would give his woman the world if she deserved it.
And from what I can tell thus far, you have feelings for her and it’s ok.
You can’t help who you fall for.” She kissed my cheek and took herself on the dance floor with the others.
Kateri immediately invited her to stand by her.
My Aunt Sophia stood next to Sariah and from what Raul said, told her she better not deliver her grandbaby tonight because she was drunk and needed to be sober during the delivery.
At two in the morning, my mom finally called it a night. My pops was happy because he claimed to be tired. Sariah went home an hour ago and Kateri was helping my sister, Jackie and a few of my cousins put the gifts in the truck. I made my way to where she was after coming inside.
“I’m glad you had a good time.” I took her hand in mine while she grabbed her shoes, clutch and phone. I removed the shoes to carry since she had the other stuff.
“Aww look at you being a gentleman.” She squeezed my cheek like a mom would to a kid.
“I am a gentleman when I’m around a woman that’s worth it.” Lifting her up and walking her out to the limo waiting, she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“Thank you. My feet were hurting but I knew better than to ask.” I laughed and placed her inside.
“Hold on.” I went back in to grab a gift bag.
On my way out, Nicole stopped me. I saw her off and on throughout the night but all she said was hello.
“Hey, can I come by to talk later?” I know she wasn’t talking about my house.
