“Let me find out Kateri got you in love.” I teased Cairo in the Gucci store.
He was returning some shoes he purchased online and ended up buying two purses for Kateri.
I knew they were for her because his mom wouldn’t wear those and Rosalina got damn near every one of them when they first came out.
Not that those were old but his sister got them sent to her before they dropped in stores.
“I’m not sure if it’s love but she definitely got me stuck.” One thing about Cairo was he never bit his tongue or hid his feelings for a woman. Victoria was the only other person who had him smitten and that didn’t work out well.
“I guess so. I mean for the last month and a half, if you’re not working she’s either at your place or y’all shacked up in a hotel fucking each other brains out.
” He paid for the stuff and waited for the cashier to bag them up.
He was still hesitant on allowing her on the compound but he had no problem with her going to his other places.
“When you taking Rosalina out the doghouse because you all up in my business.” I had to laugh. I haven’t spoken to her since that shit happened at the office; not even her mom’s party could get me to speak.
I wasn’t being childish more than I was making her deal with the consequences of her actions. She should’ve never believed a woman over me, especially when I didn’t give her any reason to believe I’d cheat. Never mind the fact the family would’ve known if I got married.
“I don’t have a choice now since my best friend in love and don’t have time to hang out.” I pretended to rub my eyes as if I were crying. He took the bags from the lady and left me in the store.
“Why are you treating me that way? What we had was special.” I stepped out the store and saw Nicole who was Jackie’s best friend crying in front of Cairo.
Walking over to hear more of her theatrics so I could clown him later, I noticed a guy watching from the distance.
Sending a message to one of the guards to make his way over there, I stood next to Cairo.
“What would your new bitch say knowing we recently had sex, and you never brought me anything.” She pointed to the bags in his hand. Cairo was quiet with no facial expression.
Most would see that as him being embarrassed but that wasn’t it.
Nope! He was observing her behavior, paying attention to his surroundings even with the amount of security he had.
And lastly, deciding which way he would take her life.
If you knew Cairo, then you knew not to make a spectacle of yourself in front of him.
He hated the attention and despised the person for causing it.
“Those are my bags.” I joked tryna make light of the situation.
“Whatever. Cairo why aren’t you…” Her voice trailed off when he walked away as I followed behind.
“CAIRO ROMANO! YOU CAN’T JUST FUCK ME AND LEAVE. I’M PREGNANT!” He stopped short, turned around, smiled and went back to walking away. Even I knew that if he did sleep with her, it would’ve never been without a condom.
Cairo wanted kids but only by his wife. That’s another reason his hate for Victoria ran so deep. She went and allowed another man to impregnate her and was most likely going to say the child was Cairo’s. Regardless of him cheating, he did love her which was why he gave her a ring.
“I’m about to be an uncle. I can’t wait.” He sucked his teeth.
“Fuck you and that bitch. I got something for her.” I already knew that.
“Why you ain’t let security take her? She was screaming like a maniac.” I asked still walking along side of him.
“Manny put me up on some shit so she’ll have to wait for now.” He showed me the message and video Manny sent and shocked was an understatement.
“What you gonna do?” I handed him the phone when we walked in the Salvatore Ferragamo store.
“I’m thinking of a new way to kill people so I’m not sure yet.” I let out a laugh and started looking around myself. We both loved coming in here and so did the staff.
“Hi, can I help you, Mr. Romano and Mr. Sanchez?” We’re definitely here too much if the staff knew our names. As we pointed to certain items, I smelled her perfume without her saying a word.
“Anything he wants is on me.” Rosalina spoke to one of the ladies behind me. When I turned around, my dick was ready to be inside her. She had on some fitted jeans with a V-neck shirt and some Jordans. I loved when she wasn’t dressed up.
“What you doing here?” Cairo asked Kateri who was here as well.
“Well, it’s my off day, all my bills are paid and my friend here.” She pointed to Lina. They’ve been hanging out a lot since meeting in the Cayman’s.
“She invited me to go shopping and since I had a few dollars to waste, I decided window shopping with her won’t be too bad.” Cairo started laughing.
“But she did go with me into stores I could afford so I got you a few things.” Cairo placed his bags on the seat inside the store and waited for her to pull out whatever she got. I told the lady to give me a few minutes so I could be nosy too.
“What? You want me to show you in here?” You could tell she was uncomfortable. She glanced around and saw others coming in and the workers assisting different people. No one paid any attention to her.
“Why not?”
“Cairo, this is an expensive store.” She tried to whisper.
“So what.” He didn’t see why that was an issue and I didn’t either.
“Do you see the prices on these shoes?” She picked up a pair to look at the price.
“A pair of penny loafers are $1000. $1000 Cairo! I can’t even afford to be standing in this store.
I feel poor besides all of you. What if they start following me thinking I’m going to steal?
” When she walked away and stood outside the store, I felt bad and he must’ve too.
Lina went out to talk to her but Kateri refused to come back in.
We stepped out and over to where she was.
“You feel better standing in front of YSL?” She turned around and blew her breath.
“I’m gonna go back downstairs and walk amongst the people who shop in the Gap or Aldo.” I have no idea why that was funny but it was. Cairo gave me the death stare.
“Don’t be mad at him because it was funny and I am poor compared to y’all. Shit, Rosalina has on everything Prada and I’m in Ross clothing. Oh my God! I just realized I’m homeless.” Now Rosalina was laughing which made all of us do the same.
“Why you playing?” Cairo snatched her up.
“Ooooh, I love it when you get aggravated. Make sure to take that out on me later.” He whispered in her ear, and Kateri blushed and had the biggest grin on her face.
“I’m sorry y’all. I can’t pretend to be poor anymore. Cairo offered me something I couldn’t refuse.” Lina had a smirk on her face.
“Huh?” I was confused.
“I’m still poor but since we’re together I’m not broke.” She pecked him on the lips.
The public affection with Cairo let me know right then and there that he was in love. That nigga never allowed a woman to touch him and the fact he said she’ll never be broke if they’re together was a dead giveaway. Wait until I tell Manny and Raul.
“I know that’s right. Get it brother.” Lina was hyping her dramatic ass up.
“Here?” He handed her the bags from Gucci and if she could cry, she would.
“I’m gonna have to suck your soul out later.” Why did women feel like expensive gifts meant they had to do something crazy? Lina stuck her finger down her throat like she was gagging. That’s what her ass gets for going along with Kateri’s shenanigans.
“Well, I got you this hoodie from the Gap and a gray sweatsuit but you can only wear those sweatpants in front of me.” He gripped her by the bicep and walked off. Moving her into a corner, he had security block them.
“That nigga about to propose.” I chuckled walking back in the Ferragamo store. Lina stood there waiting for them.
“What you standing there for? You told the lady all my stuff was on you.” She lifted her head smiling. Both of us grabbed the bags Cairo and Kateri left on the bench and took them in with us.
“I’m sorry.” Lina whispered. Telling the worker I’ll let her know when I want something, I responded to Lina.
“Not here and you have all night to show me how sorry you are.” Bending down to look at some sneakers, I felt a pair of arms around my waist and held onto her hands.
“Oh really.” Hearing Lina’s voice further than where her hands were, I turned around and saw the same chick who showed up at her office.
I almost snapped her wrist removing them from my body.
I wasn’t worried about going to jail but Cairo did say we needed to be more discreet.
We’ll literally kill someone in broad daylight and not give a fuck.
The bitch went into hiding after that day Lina beat her ass at the office.
Security was supposed to handle her but with so much going on, they dropped her off at the hospital and returned back to the office to check on Lina.
None of us were mad thinking she’d be in the hospital for a while.
Little did we know the bitch woke right up and left without any medical care.
Now she’s here about to get her ass whooped again because Lina was putting her hair up in a ponytail.
“I’ve missed you so much babe. I mean the last two weeks were perfect between us.” I had no idea who this chick was and it’s obvious she had some vendetta against Lina for whatever reason. Why else would she be lying?
“You tried it.” Lina went to swing but I picked her up and took her out the store.
“Relax. You know something is up if she did it in public.” I gestured with my head to security for them to grab her. This time we won’t be letting her out of our sight.
“She’s the reason we’re broken up and…” Tears started streaming down her face.
“Hmm.” I stared hard at Lina for a moment. There was something off about her because why did she start crying.
“Are you ok? Do we need to whoop some bitch ass?” Kateri walked up with Cairo who was shaking his head and smirking.
