Chapter 88 Brunch with a Bunch
Reiya watched him sleeping soundly in the morning light.
She was still wrapped in his gentle, possessive embrace that kept her completely warm even without clothes on.
She proudly admired the mark she had placed on his neck.
She was brazen enough to mark a deity. But it didn’t feel like that to her.
It just felt like she was claiming what was hers . .. what had been destined to be hers.
His face was so serene and adorable as he slept.
A soft smile formed on her mouth. How could people be afraid of her sweet Lee?
He was always so attentive and loving with her.
She felt so content just to lay there and stare at him.
His face was so perfect. His lips were pressed together and almost looked to have a small smile on them while he slept.
She focused on his lips, remembering how they felt on her last night and how special last night had been for both of them.
No longer able to resist the temptation, she raised her head and brushed her lips against his, feeling the heat and sparks immediately.
She could also feel him kissing her back.
His arms moved to hoist her body higher up, and suddenly he was the one in control of the situation.
As he shifted his weight onto her, he slowly dipped his tongue into her mouth, slowly massaging hers.
She moaned softly, and he answered her with a low sound of his own.
When he pulled away, her eyes flickered open to meet his soft blue gaze. “Now that is something I want to wake up to every morning.” He then eyed her nude body and smiled. “All of this.”
“Mmm, me too. Except you’re the one who usually wakes up before me.” Reiya smiled and traced his bottom lip with her fingertips. They both had their heads laying on the same pillow and were staring into each other’s eyes, reflecting the same passion and devotion. “I love you, Lee.”
“I love you, my sweet fairy.” He kissed her fingers, a small smile playing on his lips. “You want to get a shower with me?”
“Are we only going to shower?” she asked him with a wry smile.
“Probably not. Is that a problem?”
Reiya giggled and rolled out of the bed. “I get the hot water first!” she squealed and took off toward the bathroom.
Lee chuckled and sat up, staring after her as she disappeared into the bathroom.
He let out a small sigh. He hoped everything would go smoothly today.
The other deities surely already knew about him and Reiya.
He was now an important part of the fairy circle as their future fairy prince.
He would also be the father of the next fairy princess.
His thoughts changed direction, and he now wondered what their children would be like.
He’d never dreamed that he would ever be a father.
Now that he had Reiya, he thought about it often.
He was going to have a family. Their children would no doubt be powerful.
They wouldn’t be deities but demigods. The next fairy princess would be part fairy, a demigod, and he wasn’t sure what animal would be retained.
Maybe even both. That would be amazing .
.. to have the ability to shift into a dragon or a wolf.
He stood up from the bed and smiled as he listened to the shower running in the bathroom. His little fairy might have jumped into the water first, but they would both be sharing that water soon. He didn’t plan to keep much space between them.
He strode into the shower, a smirk resting on his lips. “Alright, princess. You ready for some punishment?”
Reiya helped Lee button up his shirt. Their shower encounter was in no way punishment for her.
It was like an amazing reward. He was always very considerate of her, always taking care of her needs.
She felt like she was the one who got the better end of the deal being mated to Lee.
How he could feel that it was the other way around made no sense to her.
She could feel how much he adored her, though, and she felt the same way about him.
“I’m digging my new neck tattoo.” Lee winked down at her as he looked at it again in the mirror. “One of my favorite moments thus far in my life is receiving your mark.”
“More than marking me?”
“Oh yes, definitely more than marking you. Having you claim me is a playback reel moment.” She placed her hands on his chest and gazed upward at him. “You promise you’re coming back to me?”
“Baby, if they were going to lock me up, they would have come and done it already. This is just a mere formality.” He kissed the tip of her nose and rested his hands around her back. “What’s on the agenda tonight?”
“Tonight, we are playing charades. Then tomorrow, you’re taking me to see Hunter and Chasen.” She smiled up at him and he chuckled down at her.
“Okay baby. That’s what we’ll do.” He tilted her chin upward and brushed his lips over hers, taking her in slowly and sensually, dipping his tongue into her mouth and holding her head in place so tenderly.
He sucked on her bottom lip last as he pulled away from her.
“I‘m never going to get tired of tasting you.”
“You better not.” Reiya scrunched her face up at him and smiled, biting her bottom lip.
“I love you, my fairy. I’ll be back tonight.” He sweetly kissed her once more and then vanished, keeping his eyes on hers until he was gone.
Reiya sighed and held her small fist over her chest. She was nervous about him leaving. She felt like she needed to keep him safe now.
Don’t worry, Reiya. Everything is going to be fine. Lumi could feel Reiya’s uneasiness and tried to reassure her.
Thanks, Lumi. Best to get busy and take my mind off it.
Reiya smiled and opened the door. She walked out and was surprised to see Xander and Lila sitting on the couch, along with Chelsie and Brody, who were sitting across from them.
“Am I late to the party?” Reiya asked as their eyes flipped up to her.
“No, now the party can get started.” Chelsie smiled and reached for Reiya, beckoning her closer.
Reiya walked up to them and laid her hand on Chelsie’s shoulder. “What do we have planned for today?”
Xander stood up, bringing Lila up with him. “First, we’re meeting the others for brunch. Then we can plan to do something from there. I have a clear day ahead of me and plan to keep you company all day.”
Reiya smiled. She knew what he was up to.
He wanted to keep her distracted today. They all did.
She had a really great bunch of people who cared about her.
She wished they could always be together, all of them, but she knew the others would soon have to return to their own kingdoms. Hopefully they would visit often, now that they had all become so close.
“Thank you.” Reiya gave him a knowing smile, and Xander winked at her with his cheesy grin.
“Alright, brunch time. I could eat a couple stacks of pancakes right now. Some sandwiches. Maybe a few biscuits with sausage and gravy. Oh, and a cheeseburger sounds great!” Brody stood up, lifting Chelsie up along with him.
“Well, Chelsie isn’t doing it anymore, so I will … easy there, Baloo, or you’ll be shifting into a pig instead of a bear from now on.” Xander grinned widely while Brody only shrugged.
“She still calls me pet names in bed. Sh—” Chelsie wrapped her hands around his mouth while Reiya clasped her hands over her ears.
“Well, now you’ll get my pet names too, muffin.” Xander chuckled as Brody shot him a glare.
“Okay, food time. Now,” Reiya said as she headed for the stairs. Xander and Lila were right on her heels as Brody and Chelsie trailed behind them.
They walked out onto the balcony to meet the others for brunch. Already sitting at the big round table were Mason, Ruby, Weston, and Dex.
“There’s the hottest mate in the world.” Weston winked at Reiya as she approached. “No, seriously. I’ve gotta get me a werewolf mate now. I won’t be satisfied unless my woman marks my neck like you did to Leviathan last night.”
Reiya felt her cheeks heat in mild embarrassment as she took a seat beside Dex. “I agree, Weston. Just point me to the females who will take me to bed and make a mess out of me.” Dex grinned, pouring on the embarrassment.
“Not all werewolf females mark their mates. You have to find one with a dominant wolf,” Brody said as he slid in next to Reiya, pulling Chelsie to the seat next to him.
“Maybe I should place an ad requesting one,” Weston said in fake thoughtfulness.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen Levi that pleased before,” Xander said as he sipped his drink, raising his eyes up to Reiya.
“Of course he was happy. That was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. I am completely jealous of him,” Weston said, folding his arms over his chest.
“He must have been very happy, because we didn’t see you guys again for the rest of the evening,” Mason said with sly amusement.
Ruby swatted at Mason. “Hey now, quit embarrassing our angel.”
“Never again, my dear.” Mason lifted Ruby’s hand to his lips and gently kissed it.
“Do you think there are any beauties with a dominant wolf back in your pack?” Weston asked with interest.
“Hmm, there might be. Oh, I forgot to mention that Lee is going to take me to visit my pack tomorrow,” Reiya said as the table quieted.
“Seriously?! We can go visit our brothers tomorrow?” Brody said excitedly.
“Reiya, I don’t want you being that far apart from me,” Xander said quietly. It wasn’t his place to tell her what to do, but the memory of what happened before when they were separated played in his head. He didn’t want anything to happen to her, especially since the demons were still a problem.
“Then come with me.” Reiya smiled and looked into his amber eyes. She watched him grin and sigh playfully.
“I guess I’m going to have to. I would like to meet your other brothers.” Xander nodded, smiling. Her family was important to him, too, and he couldn’t wait to meet them.
“I can’t wait!” Brody had a huge grin on his face as he took a big bite of the sandwich in front of him.
“You’re going to get into a wrestling match with Chasen immediately, aren’t you?” Chelsie sighed, folding her arms over her chest.
“They most definitely will,” Reiya giggled.
“It won’t be immediately,” Brody said with a smirk. “They’ll be sizing up Levi first.”
He was right. Her two brothers would probably start an interrogation with Lee. Even though they knew him as her summon, it would be different now that he was her mate.
“Well, maybe I’ll have to bring Lumi out to tussle with Hunter’s wolf,” Reiya said with a shrug.
“Lumi’s a big girl, and I’m sure she’s tough, but she can’t beat Blaze. He has the edge on you, little sis.” Brody elbowed Reiya playfully.
“I wouldn’t make it easy on him, though. Plus, he would go easy on me because all you boys always treat me like I’m going to break.” Reiya gave Brody a look, to which he only shrugged and gave her a crooked smile.
“You are our only sister. Of course you’re the treasured one among us.”
“Aww, that is incredibly sweet. I wish my brother was like that,” Ruby said, shooting Weston a look.
“Now look what you did, Brody. You went and started putting expectations in our sisters’ heads,” Weston said, rubbing his brows while Dex nodded, chuckling quietly.
Reiya smiled as the men started getting rowdy around the table.
It really did feel like a family. She caught Xander giving her a crooked grin and winking at her.
He could feel it too—the new sense of family that they now shared.
All they needed was the last piece of their puzzle.
Hopefully he would be returning to them tonight.
