Chapter 5

While at the palace, Crown Prince Lucian was delighted to learn that Lady Aurora had cancelled their afternoon tea.

For the first time in weeks, his schedule was free. Unable to hide his smile, he headed straight to his study to finish his paperwork before spending the afternoon exactly where he wanted.

With Lady Bella.

After signing several documents, he quickly wrote a short note.

"Inform Lady Bella that I shall be joining her for tea this afternoon."

The messenger bowed and departed. Lucian leaned back in his chair, feeling unusually relaxed. His secretary, who had witnessed years of the prince enduring Aurora's constant attention, nearly laughed. It was the happiest His Highness had looked all month.

Meanwhile, at the Palsen Estate, chaos erupted.

"His Highness is coming for tea?" Bella squealed.

The servants jumped as Bella nearly knocked over a chair in her excitement.

"Quickly! Bring me every dress from my wardrobe!"

Within minutes, her bedroom looked as though a tornado had swept through it. Blue dresses were tossed onto the bed. Pink dresses landed on chairs. Several gowns ended up on the floor. Bella stood in the middle of the room, completely overwhelmed.

"No, no, no! This one makes me look too serious. That one makes me look too young. This one makes me look desperate."

Her maid rubbed her temples, "My Lady, you've rejected every dress you own."

Bella groaned dramatically and collapsed onto her bed.

"I need something innocent, elegant, charming, and unforgettable."

"That sounds impossible, My Lady."

Bella threw a pillow at the maid. The room erupted into laughter. After nearly an hour of panic, Bella finally selected a soft cream-colored dress embroidered with delicate flowers.

She then hurried to the kitchens, "Prepare the Crown Prince's favourite biscuits! And the finest tea we have!"

The servants immediately sprang into action. Bella's excitement was infectious. For the first time in a long while, the estate felt lively and cheerful.

Back at the Ambrose Duchy, Aurora sat quietly in her father's study.

The peaceful room stood in stark contrast to the chaos unfolding at the Palsen Estate.
