Chapter 64
The day of the banquet has finally arrived.
Eleanor spent the whole day making sure everything was perfect, no expenses spared, this was their princess, nothing but the best.
Aurora stood before the full-length mirror, almost unable to recognize the young woman staring back at her.
The gown was breathtaking.
Layers upon layers of shimmering ivory tulle cascaded gracefully to the floor, each translucent layer catching the sunlight like delicate morning mist. As she moved, the skirts floated around her, giving the illusion that she was walking upon clouds.
The fitted bodice hugged her slender waist perfectly, embroidered with intricate silver vines and blooming flowers crafted from delicate lace and tiny crystals. Every stitch sparkled subtly, like frost kissed by the first rays of dawn.
The sweetheart neckline rested elegantly across her shoulders, while sheer off-the-shoulder sleeves billowed softly around her arms like drifting clouds, adding an ethereal softness to her appearance.
A delicate silver tiara nestled within her softly curled chestnut hair, its tiny gemstones glittering like stars. Matching crystal earrings swayed gently each time she turned her head.
The flowing bottom swept silently behind her, its iridescent fabric reflecting shades of pearl, silver, and soft champagne whenever it caught the light. It wasn't overly extravagant, yet every graceful step made the gown shimmer as though moonlight itself had been woven into the fabric.
She looked less like a duchess...
...and more like a celestial princess who had wandered out of an enchanted garden.
Even Aurora found herself speechless.
She slowly turned before the mirror, watching the skirts bloom around her.
A small smile tugged at her lips.
"It feels..." she whispered softly, "...like a new beginning."
Emily stood frozen nearby, one hand covering her mouth.
"My Lady..." she breathed, tears already gathering in her eyes. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."
Aurora laughed shyly, a faint blush colouring her cheeks.
"Oh, Emily... you're exaggerating."
Emily shook her head immediately.
"No, My Lady." She smiled warmly. "Tonight... every nobleman is going to forget how to breathe."
Aurora sighed dramatically.
"Please don't curse me like that."
Emily burst into laughter.
"Emily, can you give me a minute"
Emily stepped out of the room, Aurora walked to the three pot plants on the balcony.
"Mum, dad, Dante... Today is my coming-of-age banquet. What do you guys think of my dress"
"Wish me luck"
Aurora stepped out of the room.
