Chapter 10 First Gift From Kendall

The man did not react at all to Kendall's question.

His tall, broad body was hunched like an ostrich, and he was still trembling slightly, his condition seemingly not very good.

Kendall gripped the handrail and leaned her back against the computer bag she had been carrying behind her.

She was momentarily stunned, suddenly remembering that she had also packed a small night light from the bedside table when she was getting her things together.

Kendall turned and took out the night light out of the bag.

The night light was a glass orb about the size of her palm.

It was solar-powered and would emit a soft light in the dark.

In the middle of the glass orb was a beautiful, starry cosmic sea star.

It looks ordinary when it doesn't shine during the day, but when it is in the dark at night, it will bloom its own light.

Kendall didn't know much about claustrophobia, just the name and the general idea. But perhaps if she could distract him, he wouldn't be so uncomfortable? After all, they were fellow sufferers stuck in an elevator, so it was best if they could both get out safely.

After her phone screen turned off and the flashlight function deactivated, the confined space around could not be seen, Kendall extended the glowing night light in front of him. "Look up. This is for you."

The light from the night light shone through the cracks and into his line of sight.

The man, who had his head down, moved, lifting his head from his knees to reveal a handsome, clean-cut profile.

He stared at the glowing orb in Kendall's hand, his expression extremely focused, without even glancing at her.

The moment the man looked up, Kendall, who was used to seeing handsome men and beautiful women on social media, was stunned by his flawless skin and good looks.

She had never seen anyone so perfect! The man's skin was fair, his eyebrows were focused, his face had clean lines, and harmonious features.

Under the warm, yellow light of the night light, his handsome brow bone cast a faint shadow over his high nose. When he looked down, his long, thick eyelashes moved, a truly captivating sight.

What stunned Kendall was not just his outstanding appearance, but the calm and harmless feeling he gave off, which was completely at odds with his large physique.

Seeing that he was staring at the night light, Kendall moved her arm slightly and, sure enough, saw his clear, beautiful eyes follow the direction of the night light. She found it interesting for some reason.

"Here, it's yours," Kendall said again, holding the night light out to him.

The man's gaze finally moved from the night light to Kendall. He turned his entire face toward her, and in the soft light, his perfect, deep-set features struck Kendall up close. What a beauty attack!

Kendall calmly met his gaze.

After a few seconds, the man slowly looked away and took the night light from her. He hadn't said a single word the entire time, but Kendall didn't mind. Beautiful people have their own little quirks, and since he was so handsome, she could tolerate it for now.

With the night light in his hands, the man's attention was clearly diverted. His trembling body returned to normal, and he quietly crouched in the corner, staring at the night light in his hands. He looked unexpectedly docile.

Kendall's mind was on the rescue, and she occasionally looked down at the time on her watch. After ten minutes in this quiet atmosphere, a noise came from outside. Kendall quickly called for help.

Fifteen minutes later, the elevator doors were successfully opened by the rescue team. There were many more people waiting outside the elevator than Kendall had expected.

In addition to the emergency services, there were hotel staff in uniform and a large, bustling crowd.

Kendall came out of the elevator with her suitcase and thanked the rescue workers. A hotel staff member immediately came forward to apologize to her.

Their attitude was very professional, and they offered to compensate Kendall by waiving her hotel stay fee.

Unexpected events happen, and she wasn't injured, so Kendall nodded, accepting the hotel's apology.

From the corner of her eye, Kendall saw an even larger group of people surrounding the elevator entrance. The scene was quite a spectacle. She even heard someone frantically calling out, "Young master!"

'Oh, so he's a young master from a wealthy family.'

No wonder he seemed so otherworldly. Kendall walked away from the elevator entrance quickly with her suitcase.

She didn't know that after she left, the man, who was slowly getting up because his legs were numb, looked for her immediately after getting out of the elevator with the night light in his hands as if it were a treasure.

When he searched around and didn't see her, the tall man stood there with a gloomy expression, looking sad and dejected, like a little puppy abandoned by its owner.

A group of people followed him anxiously. Someone immediately messaged the Sinclair family, "Mr. Sinclair, the second young master has been found. He was trapped in an elevator, but he's okay now."
