Chapter 35 Investigate The Nightlight

Meeting his wife's resentful gaze, Normand, who controlled the entire Sinclair Group with tens of thousands of employees and had been a formidable force in the business world for decades, suddenly felt a little guilty.

"I didn't expect this to happen either..."

Nathan, although he has had autistic tendencies and emotional disorders since childhood, is exceptionally intelligent. He has been independently researching and creating new products since he was seventeen.

Now, several of the Sinclair Group's best-selling products were developed by Nathan alone.

What father doesn't like to show off his child? Even Normand, the CEO of the group, was the same. After much coaxing, Nathan finally agreed to go out with him, so Normand tricked him into going to a business reception.

He originally thought that since it was his own hotel, nothing would go wrong.

But in a moment of inattention, when Normand turned around again, he found that Nathan, who had been following him, was gone.

Fortunately, he was later found by the assistant, and nothing happened.

Otherwise, Normand would never be able to forgive himself for the rest of his life.

Shortly after Normand returned, Neil also came back. Neil looked like a younger version of Normand, also in a suit, with a handsome and strong face, a straight build, and a refined yet mature and stable demeanor.

Neil is twenty-eight years old this year.

When he was in college, he didn't go home to take over Normand's business.

Instead, he chose to start his own small company outside.

After a few years of development, Neil's team has grown from five or six people to thousands today.

The scale is not that big yet, but the annual revenue is already very impressive.

Normand and Victoria were sitting on the living room sofa. When they saw Neil return, they immediately motioned for him to sit down, eat some fruit, and rest. Neil looked around the house and asked the question he was most concerned about. "Mom, did Nathan go to the hotel again?"

"Yes," Victoria sighed. "When that child decides to do something, no one can stop him."

When Nathan used to stay at home all day and never went out, Victoria was very worried about him having no desire for the outside world.

Now, Nathan goes out every day, and no one can stop him.

He even goes out more in a week than he used to in a whole year!

This was originally something Victoria had hoped for, but after it actually happened, she didn't expect that she would become even more worried!

Neil also knew that his younger brother was different from other people. In the first two days that Nathan went to wait by the hotel elevator, not only did Normand and Victoria go to convince him to come home, but Neil also rushed there from his company after he found out.

But this time, Nathan was especially stubborn. He didn't listen to anyone. Every evening, he would go to the elevator of the hotel that had the malfunction and stay there, rain or shine, until late at night. He would go home on his own without anyone having to convince him.

Neil asked, "Did Dr. Cooper come today?"

"Dr. Cooper came in the morning." Victoria hadn't left the house all day, so she knew everything. "Dr. Cooper said that the elevator malfunction didn't cause any physical or psychological harm to Nathan. The test results showed that Nathan's body data was the same as before."

"Dr. Cooper also told us to pay more attention to why Nathan is doing this. It could be a good breakthrough to get him to become interested in the outside world." Normand and Neil both fell into deep thought after hearing Victoria's words.

The three of them had dinner and sat in the living room, waiting for most of the night.

At ten o'clock, Assistant Miller escorted Nathan home. After safely bringing Nathan home, Miller's work for the day was done, and he couldn't wait to get off.

Nathan quietly stood in the entryway, changing his shoes.

He inherited the Sinclair family's excellent genes.

He was six feet one, broad-shouldered, and stood tall and straight like a pine tree with long legs.

He was wearing a white shirt and light grey pants, a simple but clean and pure outfit, full of youthful energy.

With his thick eyelashes lowered, his hand, which was pulling the slippers out of the shoe cabinet, was pale and had well-defined joints, like a translucent white jade.

When Nathan did something, he was especially focused and serious. Even a small thing like changing shoes seemed incredibly solemn when he did it.

One of the Sinclair family's great-grandmothers was Russian, and Nathan had a delicate mixed-race face since he was a child.

His eyes were deep, his nose bridge was high, his skin was fair, and his jawline was clean and sharp.

Plus, he had a perfect height that made him stand tall and straight.

If it weren't for the emotional disorder he was born with, Victoria couldn't imagine how excellent her youngest son would be.

When Victoria saw Nathan return, she immediately went up to him and asked, "Nathan, are you hungry? I have some food warming up for you in the kitchen. How about you eat first?"

Nathan didn't say anything, but he obediently walked to the dining table and sat down. The chefs had already left, so Victoria personally went to the kitchen to bring out the food that had been warming up.

Ever since Nathan came back, Neil had been watching his younger brother. His eyes fell on the nightlight that Nathan had carefully placed on the dining table.

He asked, "Mom, who bought the nightlight that Nathan is holding?"

"Your dad probably bought it," Victoria replied. For the past few days, Nathan had been carefully guarding this nightlight and never let it out of his sight.

Normand looked shocked. He looked at the nightlight on the dining table and quickly denied it. "It wasn't me..."

"It wasn't you?" Victoria's voice got louder. Now it was her turn to be surprised.

"Nathan brought this nightlight back after you took him out that day. I thought you knew that Nathan has claustrophobia and bought him a nightlight to comfort him after the elevator accident he had at the hotel!"

Nathan's congenital psychological disorder meant that he wouldn't initiate conversations with people or even pay attention to them. It's safe to say that Nathan had never had a single friend since he was a child and never had anyone to talk to.

Besides the three people in the Sinclair family, who else would give him a gift if they weren't related to him? This was why Victoria had mistakenly thought that Normand had bought the nightlight.

Victoria's words made Normand feel guilty again. Fortunately, Victoria didn't plan to argue with him about it anymore.

The three members of the Sinclair family, who had hundreds of billions in assets, were all curiously staring at the unremarkable nightlight on the dining table.

Nathan was a germaphobe. He never bought anything from outside. His clothes and pants were custom-made by brands that would personally deliver them to his house. Only after they were thoroughly washed and disinfected would they be given to Nathan.

A nightlight would never appear in Nathan's room. And it was such a simple nightlight.

Victoria slapped her forehead and suddenly felt annoyed. Looking at how delicate the nightlight was, it was clear that only girls would like such a small and exquisite item.

How could she have thought that Normand, an old-fashioned man who only knew about business and was clueless about everything else, would have bought it?

Neil went up and looked at the nightlight up close. He politely asked his younger brother, "Nathan, this nightlight is so pretty. Where did you get it? I want to buy one too."

Nathan was eating his meal seriously. When he heard what Neil said, he quickly looked up from his plate. He glanced at his older brother, and with one hand still holding spoon, he quickly picked up the nightlight with the other and hid it in his shirt.

Neil saw this and raised an eyebrow slightly. Victoria and Normand, who were behind him, also saw Nathan's small action.

Not only did the three of them not think Nathan was stingy, but they all looked happy.

Victoria looked a little excited. She patted Normand next to her. "I'm not seeing things, right? Nathan just now didn't want Neil to look at his nightlight? He even seemed a little cautious?"

You have to understand that Nathan had never shown any particular likes or dislikes for anything or anyone since he was a child. He was even more generous with his family. Even though he was a germaphobe, Neil, Victoria, and Normand could touch his things freely, and Nathan would never get angry.

Ever since he was born, it was as if he was missing happiness, anger, sadness, and joy. The only time he ever cried was when he was born and was made to cry by the nurse. He was like a beautiful, ethereal porcelain doll.

This was the first time Victoria had ever seen Nathan express his unwillingness to share something. How could Victoria not be excited?

After Victoria calmed down, she said with an air of authority, "Investigate! Call the hotel now and have them pull up the surveillance footage from that day to see when Nathan got that nightlight!"

After they find the person who gave Nathan the nightlight, she will definitely thank them properly!
