Chapter 58 Jasmine #2

With one sudden movement, my underwear is ripped away and Kane shifts. Then I feel it, his bare cock, the tip against my entrance, and with one hard thrust—he’s inside me.

I gasp, but it’s smothered by his hand over my mouth. “Mine,” he growls, thrusting so hard my spine burns, something falls, but I don’t care.

I want Kane, every version of him.

When he slowly pulls out, just to thrust back in twice as hard, I cry out behind his palm. “Shhh,” he murmurs, but never stops.

Not even when he takes a moment to look down, using a sliver of shadow to tilt my head, making sure we’re both watching his slow, deep intrusion of his cock into me.

My muffled whimper has his eyes snapping back to me, forehead to forehead, as he thrusts and whispers, “Those sounds are mine. You’re mine. Do you understand?”

I nod as he keeps fucking me against the wall. But when I hear something smash on his next hard thrust, the pulling ache in my chest is instant.

We both must feel it, because Kane stops his studious penetration, and with those intense eyes locked on mine, he flits us into the dark.

Shadows slither around me, into my hair, circling my thighs and waist, all pulling and tightening. They hold my legs around him, keeping me perfectly still even suspended. All I can see are Kane’s eyes, turned so dark they’re reflective, like a predator’s during a night hunt.

And in this moment, I realise the choice Kane just made. That when he felt our bonds waking, he decided to take us into the realm rather than risk them joining. That he still isn’t quite ready to share.

Not when he’s fucking me with a renewed rigour that has my eyes watering as I moan.

Not when he snarls the claim, “Mine.” Again and again, sinking into me so deep I choke on my breath.

Not when he drops his hand only for his mouth to steal my breaths and whines instead, like they belong to him too.

Maybe I need to take the first step for us—for him.

“I’ll come,” I pant, but his pace doesn’t stop. His shadows only tighten, making it a challenge to gasp out the rest of my words beneath his devouring lips. “To the house. I’ll come.”

He pauses, just briefly, just enough to look into my eyes, to allow me to see those soft wisps of grey.

Then everything tightens. Shadows yanking my hair back as he sinks into me deeper, harder, lips right beside my ear.

“Good, immaru.”

His sudden praise pushes me over the edge. I feel myself clenching around him, like my body’s just as desperate to claim him the way his shadows are claiming me.

“Come for me,” he whispers, and my body responds instantly.

A vibrant flash of red fills my vision as I come on a cry, whimpering against his mouth while his movements become more frantic.

“Keep coming. Claim what’s yours,” he moans against my throat, filling me with his release as I tremble around his slowing thrusts.

On his last rock, he ensures his cock is deep inside me before stilling, then murmurs in a breathy pant, “I’ll never get enough of you.”

My stomach flutters. Eyes slowly opening to meet his stormy gaze as the shadows slip away and colour starts to filter in.

“I’ll always want more.” The sudden wariness in his gaze nips at me.

He says it like it’ll push me away, like I don’t want his insatiable possession. Like I don’t want him.

I press my lips to his. “You have me, Kane,” I whisper. I swear. “All of me.” I kiss him slowly, easing his worry with my tongue. “Always.”

He moans, deepening the kiss, tightening his hold. And eventually, his shadows slink away, and it’s just us.

Until the ache in our chests becomes too much and we break away on a gasp.

Even then, I have to be the strong one, only managing to convince Kane to let me go when I mention needing the bathroom.

But the second I’m done, he’s there waiting.

When we flit back into the living room, hand in hand, all eyes land on us.

A proud, smug smile tugs at my lips when I remember the state I’ve left Kane in. Hair thoroughly ruffled, shirt buttonless, swollen lips. I guess I don’t fair much better…

Sai smirks as his gaze drags over Kane, then flicks to me. “You look good on him, Red.”

I’m still smiling while Kane drags a hand through his hair, trying to smooth it back into place. “Jasmine has agreed to come—”

“So soon?” Sai smirks.

I bite my tongue, fighting the urge to laugh.

“To the house,” Kane finishes slowly, deadpan.

“For a meal, right?” I ask, knowing Sai will keep going if I don’t.

“And a sleepover,” Sai adds, that smirk edging onto sinful.

I nod casually in agreement, like the very thought isn’t giving me heart palpitations, when Kane’s cool arm slips around my waist.

“If that’s what you want, Jasmine.” He stares down at me with those dark alluring eyes that soften when he says, “Thank you for agreeing.”

Something tight uncurls in my chest at the way he says it, so soft and sincere, and when he leans down to place a kiss against my temple, my fingers dig into his arm to stop me from jumping him again.

I’m still in a daze when Kane holds out the tablet I’d forgotten about. I slowly take it, then instantly narrow my gaze on Ezekial. “Since when were there cameras in the atrium?”

He blanches, then starts to speak too quickly. “There have always been cameras, I’ve just been… checking them for Amon and Kacey’s safety.”

Sai laughs in the background as I step closer to the huge, powerful Lord who can’t quite hold my gaze. “Are you telling me the truth, my Lord?”

“I…” Ezekial swallows, then sighs. “I did use them for monitoring, but also so I could… watch you.” He cringes, fully aware of how terrible that sounds.

But instead of outrage, I find myself oddly touched. It’s kind of… sweet.

I nod slowly. “Anything else you’ve been keeping? Because now would be a great time to—”

“We own this building,” he blurts.

Julien flits beside Ezekial, folding his arms. “Just so you’re fully aware, he made that purchase without our knowledge.”

Ezekial glares at Julien.

“When?” I frown.

Sai flits to my other side. “About the same time you started staying with Kace.” He grins shamelessly.

“Wow.”

“For your safety,” Ezekial rushes out.

Kane slips his arms back around my waist from behind, lips brushing my ear. “I warned you. We’re possessive.”

I roll my eyes, but the smile tugging at my lips betrays me. “Anything else anyone wants to add?” I try to sound stern, but my voice has gone a little too soft.

“I’ve got three and a half nearly-dead guards in the Pit for you,” Sai offers casually.

I whip around to face him, eyes wide. “Why?”

“They’re the only ones left, from the cell…” He doesn’t need to say more. The shadows stir, emphasising everyone’s acknowledgment. “We kept them alive for you.”

“For me?”

He steps closer, adding a little shrug. “In case you wanted some revenge.”

Why is this so morbidly sweet? I should be horrified, but instead I’m fighting another smile.

Revenge fuels these men, it’s been their lifeblood, and they thought I might want that too. But I don’t feel like I need it. Not when I have them.

“Thank you, but I’m fine with you… dealing with them.”

Sai grins manically, markings bright. “Anything for you, Red. I’ll deal with them soon, after tonight.”

That pulls me back to the present, to the fact I’ve agreed to spend the whole night at the house with them.

“If I’m going to be with you guys all night again, I think I should go check on Kacey, seeing as the last time I saw her, I was being kidnapped.”

My gaze sweeps to the very smug Lord who doesn’t look at all guilty for said kidnapping.

“Kacey is next door with her bonded, she’s fine,” he says, like that dismisses the conversation.

“I still want to go see her. I’d like to check in on Raelynn too.”

He nods slowly, but I can tell he’s not pleased by my suggestion. I feel that none of them are.

Ezekial reaches out, fingers brushing my cheek. “If you want to see her, we’ll go with you.”

I laugh gently. “It’s literally next door.”

“Too far,” Sai mutters sourly.

“I don’t trust the dragon,” Kane adds, tightening his hold.

I try to frown at their ridiculousness, but instead bite back another smile, enjoying their protectiveness.

“How long will you need?” All the men share a look of betrayal as they stare at Julien. He ignores them, waiting for my response.

“Just a few hours,” I offer with a tiny, placating smile.

Then all their eyes narrow on me like I’ve declared I’m flitting to another realm.

“Two,” Ezekial counters, cupping my jaw. “And we’ll remain here.”

I pretend to weigh up my options, as if Ezekial’s suggestion and all their possessiveness isn’t undeniably attractive.

“Deal.” I grin. “I’ll go get dressed.”

I flit to the bedroom without a second thought, feeling the remnants of Kane’s and Ezekial’s fingers, and all their bitter disapproval. I laugh under my breath, enjoying their reluctance in some strange way.

I dress quickly, tugging on Kane’s freshly washed hoodie in hopes that might appease him, then briefly wonder which of them actually washed it before pairing it with soft black leggings and boots.

When I flit back into the living room, I’m met by silence, twitchy shadows and the sharp hum of at least one telepathic tantrum. They’re scattered in each corner of the room but all their gazes sweep over to me.

“I’ll be back soon,” I say sweetly, trying not to laugh at their collective sulk.

Before they can try to stop me, I flit into the hallway.

My phone buzzes.

Sai: I miss you.

Sai: I’m not good at waiting.

I smile at the flutter in my belly.

Me: Good boys are patient.

Sai: …

Sai: Baby. Don’t do this to me.

Me: And good boys get rewarded.

Sai: Fuck. Me.

Sai: I’ll be patient. Patient is my middle name. Saint Sai.

Kacey’s apartment is warm. Warmer than I remember it being. As I step into the living room, I spot the likely culprit: a shirtless dragon shifter wearing a tiny, floral apron as he stirs something over the hob. Amon is massive, and the apron’s definitely not built for him.
