Chapter 2 Confessing and Agreeing
So that evening.
I took the initiative to find them and confessed.
"Dad, Mom, I've already heard all your conversation and plans."
"You don't need to think more. I agree to everything you said."
As the words fell.
Dad and Mom exchanged a stunned look.
Then, surprised and joyful, they asked.
"You heard everything? You agree to all of it?"
I nodded firmly. "Yes."
Dad's voice trembled a bit as he cautiously asked again.
"Duo, do you really not want to think it over? This concerns your lifelong matter..."
What was there for me to think about? The real daughter returning to her roots was only natural, right?
I continued nodding. "No need to consider. I agree."
Mom beside me finally came back to her senses.
She changed from her earlier worried look.
Excitedly grasped my hand.
"That's great. Mom was worried you wouldn't agree..."
"Woo woo, good child, even if you find your biological mom later, you still have to call me Mom. Thinking like this is really great..."
With that.
Mom took off the Jade Bracelet from her wrist.
Slipped it onto my hand.
"Good child, this was passed to me by your grandma. Mom now passes it to you..."
Mom treasured this bracelet immensely.
Never easily showed it to others.
Now she gave it directly to me.
From this, it was clear.
How much she hoped I and the soon-to-return real daughter could get along peacefully.
I stared blankly at the crystal-clear bracelet on my wrist.
Secretly made up my mind.
I had to treat that real daughter well.
