Chapter 7
Portia hadn’t heard from Sage in two weeks and was getting worried. She knew she had told her to take her time, but she didn’t think it would take this long. Anytime she tried to reach out to her, she didn’t get a response. She was starting to think this was Sage’s way of deciding.
She thought she would give one last try to give Sage a call, and if she didn’t respond, she’d know where they stood. After a few rings, Portia was met with Sage’s voicemail.
“Hey Sage, it’s Portia. I’ve been trying to reach out. I guess I got the message. If this is all too much for you, I understand. I’ll see…”
Before Portia could finish her voice message, she heard a beep signaling another call was coming through. She looked at her phone. It was Sage. Portia quickly answered the call with no hesitation.
“Where have you been?” Portia asked frantically. “I’ve been trying to get a hold of you.”
“No Hi, hello,” Sage said, laughing as she answered the phone.
“Yeah, no,” Portia said, upset. “I’m past that. When I said take your time, I didn’t mean two weeks!”
“Woaaaah,” Sage said. “Slow down, Princess.”
Portia rolled her eyes. She hated being called that, but liked the sound of it coming off Sage’s lips.
“I know, I know. I’m so sorry I haven’t returned any of your messages,” Sage said. “So much has been going on in my world. I promise I wasn’t avoiding you.”
“Okay..” Portia said, waiting for more of an explanation.
“Okay, what?”
“Nothing,” Portia said nonchalantly.
Portia was shutting down. She was so used to being ghosted by Shy that she thought that was happening again with her and Sage.
Anytime she wouldn’t hear from Shy for weeks on end, she would assume the worst, and nine times out of ten, she was right.
Shy had been laid up with another bitch or randomly decided she was done with her.
Portia couldn’t help but think the worst with Sage too.
“No, Portia,” Sage said. “What’s up? Tell me what’s on your mind.”
Portia sighed. “I thought you were done with me.”
“Why would you think that?” Sage asked, because that was far from the truth.
“Because it’s been weeks since I’ve heard from you, Sage,” Portia said. “What else am I supposed to think? That usually tells me all I need to know. Shy used to do that shit and never come back.”
“Portia, I would never. If I were going to be done with you, I would have communicated that to you. And that’s far from what I want,” Sage said, letting Portia know her inclinations were wrong.
“I know,” Portia said, lowering her voice. “I’m just scared..”
“It’s okay to be scared. I am too. This is new for me,” Sage said, reassuring her safety. “But I’m not going nowhere.”
Portia understood that Shy's abuse had taken a toll on her physically, but she hadn't expected it to manifest like this.
The years spent with Shy had inflicted both emotional and physical scars that seemed daunting to heal.
Yet, with Sage by her side, she felt empowered to confront and overcome them.
“Look, let’s talk about this more in person,” Sage said. “Be ready in an hour.”
“Where we going?” Portia asked, excitement bubbling in her belly. She couldn’t wait to lay eyes on Sage, and perhaps a little bit more.
“Patience Princess. Just be ready,” Sage said, ending the line before Portia could respond.
“Close your eyes,” Sage said, pulling a bandana out of her pocket.
“Don’t be out here trying to kidnap me, Sage Washington,” Portia said. “I know your family and where you live.”
“Girl…” Sage said, laughing as she placed the bandana over Portia’s eyes and tied it behind her head. “Chill. You always on ten.”
“Well…” Portia said, prompting as if she had a reason to be. “You won’t tell me where we’re going and now you’re blindfolding me. I’m not trying to be on an episode of Snapped.”
Sage could do nothing but laugh. “Wit’ you yapping like a chihuahua, I would’ve left your ass where I found you.”
Portia sucked her teeth and folded her arms. Sage sucked her teeth back, mocking her.
“You can trust me, right?”
Portia nodded and smiled.
“Alright then. So, you’re in good hands,” Sage said. “Now, come on.” She smacked Portia’s ass, signaling for her to get moving.
Portia giggled as Sage took her hand and helped her into the car. She placed her hands in her lap and crossed her legs to suppress her arousal.
“How many fingers am I holding up?” Sage asked, holding up three fingers.
Portia turned her head. “I can’t see shit,” she laughed.
“Bet, let’s go,” Sage said. She secured Portia in her seat, closed the car door, and headed around to the driver's side.
After riding for about fifteen minutes, Portia felt the car come to a stop. She was ready with anticipation to remove the bandana from her eyes to see where they were. Portia began to reach for her eyes.
“Not yet,” Sage said. She stepped out of the car and walked around to open Portia’s door. She helped her step out and guided her a few steps away from the car. Portia felt a cool breeze brush up her skin. A breeze. Where are we? A beach? The lake house again?
Sage removed the bandana from Portia’s eyes and revealed a huge private jet on a runway. Portia was in awe of what she was seeing.
“Ooooo, where we going?” Portia asked, grinning from ear to ear.
Sage grabbed her hand, leading her up the airway of the jet. “I’ll let the pilot tell you,” Sage said, heart fluttering with excitement.
Portia was so giddy. She’d never been surprised like this. This was more than what she expected. She thought they’d go for lunch or maybe even to a beach, but this was far beyond her expectations.
As they entered the jet, they were met with a server offering them glasses of champagne. Once settled into their seats, the pilot appeared to introduce herself.
“Good evening. I’m Cree Rosewood, your pilot for this trip,” the Pilot said with delight. “I’m excited to be flying you to your destination, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.”
"Ooooo Costa Rica!" Portia sang, beaming at Sage. She bounced in her seat with excitement, unable to contain herself. "Ohhh, you like me, like me!"
“Mhm,” Sage smirked. “Don’t be out here kidnapping me, Sage Washington,” she said, mocking Portia.
They both laughed. “But forreal, thank you. This is amazing,” Portia said. “No one has ever done anything like this for me.”
“Anything for Princess.”
“Cheers to that,” Portia said, raising her champagne glass, laughing.
“We’re hereeee,” Portia sang as she tapped Sage to wake her up. Portia looked out the window as she caught a beautiful view of the ocean and rainforest. “Woooow this is incredible.”
“That was quick,” Sage said, repositioning herself to look out the window.
As they prepared for landing, it dawned on Portia that she didn’t get to pack anything.
“Sage, how am I in Costa Rica with nothing to wear?”
“I got that already taken care of.”
“You know what…” Portia said, smirking. “I trust you.”
Sage nodded, smiling. “That’s my girl. This trip, you’ll get to just relax and enjoy yourself. Let me take care of you.”
“Mmmm,” Portia hummed in satisfaction. “Okay… Daddy.”
“Don’t play with me, Portia,” Sage teased. “I’ll have you screaming that shit later.”
Portia clutched her imaginary pearls. “Oop! Well, I’m down for a little playtime,” she giggled.
Her cheeks grew warm, thinking about the fun they were about to have. The kiss they shared a couple weeks ago only had her body begging for more; wondering what long nights of passion with Sage would look and feel like. Portia rearranged herself as the jet prepared for landing.
Once they exited the plane, they were greeted with more cocktails and transported across the island to their private villa.
Along the way, they took in mesmerizing views of the rainforest filled with tropical animals and an immaculate view of the ocean.
Upon their arrival at the villa, the driver opened the door and let them both out to explore their new home for the next few days.
“Shall we?” Sage said, holding out her arm for Portia.
“We shall,” Portia agreed, hooking her arm with Sage’s.
As they entered the villa, they were greeted by a stunning view of the rainforest. Portia hurried over to the floor-to-ceiling glass doors and eagerly pushed them open, stepping out onto the balcony.
Leaning against the railing, she breathed in the fresh air and savored the soothing sounds of nature all around her.
Lost in the moment, Portia gazed out at the lush scenery.
Soon, she felt strong arms gently wrapping around her waist from behind.
Sage placed a soft kiss on her shoulder. “Sage Washington, you never fail to amaze me,” Portia said, turning around to meet her gaze.
Portia gently placed her hands on the sides of Sage’s face and drew her into a deep, passionate kiss. Sage, in response, slid her hands down Portia’s back, exploring the curves as she caressed her. Portia couldn’t help but moan softly in pleasure as Sage placed tender kisses along her neck.
“Before we get carried away,” Sage said softly. “I want you to see the rest of the villa.”
Sage gave Portia a tour of the villa. Showing her the beautiful canopy bed where they'd be sleeping, the full range kitchen, cozy living area, and Sage’s favorite, the heated pool.
“So we have all of this to ourselves for the next few days?” Portia asked with excitement.
“Yup,” Sage said, beaming as she witnessed Portia’s glee. “We can be out here for as long as we want forreal, forreal. This is my home away from home.”
“Okaaay,” Portia said, walking over to Sage. “You are Daddy, after all.” Portia wrapped her arms around Sage’s neck and began kissing her earlobe.
“Mmm,” Sage moaned in arousal.
“What was that shit you was talkin’ earlier about having me scream your name later?” Portia whispered in Sage’s ear.
“I don’t know if you can handle it,” Sage said, smirking.
“Oh, yeah?” Portia said, curiously. “Try me.”
Sage picked Portia up by her cheeks and wrapped her legs around her.
“Oh!” Portia yelped unexpectedly.
