Chapter 12

Chapter

OLIVIA

My lashes feel as if they’re glued together, and I moan weakly as I open my eyes. My head throbs as if I’ve been drugged, and my thoughts are fuzzy.

“It’s about fucking time.” A sharp kick to my ribs makes me gasp, and I have to blink multiple times in order to be able to see.

I’m naked, laying on a cold floor, and no longer in the nest in the living room. I feel very disoriented, with no sense of how much time my heat lasted for.

“What?” I gasp, gasping for air as I gaze up at Dylan’s red and angry face.

“You took my sons from me,” he growls, attempting to follow me as I roll away.

My arms are tightly bound behind my back, leaving me semi defenseless. Dylan will have to kill me in order to have any part of me. I won’t give up.

There’s a warm glow inside of me that insists I fight him. Some of that is my fury, and there’s a pulsing from a bond that I can feel is Cai. At some point in my heat, I lost sense of anything other than knots and cum, but I’m not upset about this.

As long as I can survive Dylan, I can move forward.

“You lost them because you don’t know how to love,” I snarl, forcing myself to stand. My legs wobble, yet I’m able to keep my balance.

I’m naked and hurt, but I still manage to glare at him. There are guards all around the large living room, and I can see that we’re on a higher floor from a single glance out the window. This is very bad.

I don’t have any idea how I got here.

“Bullshit,” Dylan spits out. I can feel the liquid from here, and I grimace in disgust. “You’re an evil temptress with a tight pussy, that’s all. I thought two of my sons were gay, and you managed to turn them too!”

“Destiny doesn’t care about sexuality,” I mutter. “Stupid old man. The world is passing you by, and you can’t hold on to anything. How am I here?”

“You think you’re going to bait me?” he laughs, stalking toward me. “I have access to wherever I want!”

Since I’m defenseless and naked, I run around the couch, keeping it between us.

“Grab her for me,” Dylan snarls.

“Sorry, boss,” one of the guards grunt. Glancing behind me, I see that he really isn’t sorry. “I did my part by getting into the house and drugging your boys and her while they slept. If you want the girl, you have to catch her.”

The other men smirk, but lose their smiles when Dylan shoots the man who spoke in the knee.

“I hate disrespect,” he mutters. “It’s so hard to find good help.”

My breaths come a little faster at his words, but I have to focus on him instead of the men behind me. I can’t run from everyone. The adrenaline is helping to clear the sedative from my body, but I still feel woozy and exhausted.

“Maybe you should choose better communication,” I rasp, dropping to the ground as he shoots in my direction. I want him off balance.

Half crawling, I ignore the sound of the window behind me shattering. There’s semi chaos as the men scatter, and someone grabs the rope holding my wrists behind me.

“Hush,” the person says, sliding a knife through the rope binding me.

Glancing behind me, I catch a glimpse of a beta with blonde hair.

“Tell Maddox we support him. Now run. Your pack should be here soon.”

Getting to my feet, I face forward and run, ducking underneath Dylan’s arm as he attempts to clothesline me. Unfortunately, he grabs my hair tightly, yanking me back, and we begin to fight over the gun in his hand.

I shove it away from my body, struggling to push him away as I scream. Dylan seems to feed on a steady diet of hate and anger, because his strength threatens to overwhelm me. I’m never going to be the type of omega with tons of muscles and stamina.

Add to this that I haven’t eaten during my heat, and I’m weaker than a newborn kitten. The odds aren’t great for me.

A door behind me explodes, and things get hazy. Everyone is fighting around me, and Dylan grabs my throat and sweeps my legs out from under me. Riding my descent to the ground, he leers as he shoves the gun beneath my throat, his legs shoving mine open.

“I’ve been patient, and what does it get me? A godsdamned coup! From my own fucking children. You’ve been in heat for seventy-two hours, Olivia,” he growls. “Lay there like a good girl and let me take what’s mine.”

I usually freeze when I’m put in positions where I feel completely out of control and my mind checks out, but that doesn’t happen. Punching him in the face, I also manage to grab the waistband of his pants with my other hand to knee him in the knot.

“I’m not yours,” I growl, gasping as he’s yanked off my body and thrown against the wall.

Dylan’s fingers aren't on the trigger thankfully, and the gun goes flying from the force of the blow. My chest heaves as I’m picked up by someone, and I begin screaming and fighting them since my hair is in my face.

“Olivia, it’s me, Cai!” he says, giving me a second to shove my hair out of my face.

“Oh my god, you’re okay,” I say, relief filling me.

“Me? Hellcat, I’m fine,” he says, looking around the room.

Gareth is beating the shit out of Dylan, while Maddox and Aled join the fight with others.

“The guards drugged us, but since a good portion of them are on our side now, it was only a half dose,” he rasps, dropping and covering my body as shots are fired. Pulling off his hoody, he drops it over my head, and I shove my arms through the sleeves.

God, do I love clothes. There’s been too many instances where my power has been taken away that involve a lack of clothing.

“Stay low, Hellcat. We don’t need you to get shot,” Cai says, pulling his gun from his holster.

He’s wearing jeans and appears to have thrown on his clothes. His sneakers are also two different colors as he hunches over me. We’re pressed against a sofa, and he looks over the top before pulling the trigger twice.

An arm bands around his throat, and the sound of Cai choking makes my breath freeze.

Pulling the gun from his hands, I tell myself all I need to do is point and shoot since I’m so close.

Cai flails, leaving me no other option than to lean forward and press the barrel of the gun to his attacker's knee before pulling the trigger.

“Fuck! Where did that come from!”

Cai knocks the wind out of his attacker by shoving his elbow into the man’s gut, while I calmly hand him the gun back so he can turn and shoot the man in the head. Breathing hard, I drop back with wide eyes as Cai leans back over me.

“Look at you, saving my life,” he says, kissing me hard despite the blood splatter.

“Don’t die,” I whisper. “You’re mine to torture and no one else’s.”

His lips curl into a smile as he nods. “So you’re not mad about accidentally bonding with me?”

Cai turns and kicks the man creeping up on him in the face, while my jaw drops at the chaos around me.

“Do you really want to have this conversation now?” I ask.

“No time like the present, Hellcat,” he says, knocking out the man with his gun with a quick twist of his torso.

“Keep that one alive!” the guard who refused to grab me yells, grabbing his arms and dragging him away. “Stay safe, boss.”

“Working on it,” Cai replies, turning back to me.

“Boss?” I squeak out.

“Did I forget to mention that we staged a coup in the middle of your heat?” he chuckles. “We turned a bunch of Dad’s guards, along with men that he’s worked with since we were kids. People are noticing how much more unstable he’s become.”

“I’m not unstable, you ungrateful snot!” Dylan screams.

Gareth has his arms and legs hogtied, yet he’s still running his mouth. My favorite beta slams Dylan’s face into the wall, continuing until the alpha falls to the ground unconscious.

“As I was saying,” Cai drawls. “You were never supposed to be taken. Dad moved too quickly for us to be warned, and we were also sleeping off the aftermath of your heat. None of us told him that you were in heat, he figured it out when none of us were answering our phones over the last three days.”

“How did you find me then?” I ask, beginning to feel really overwhelmed.

“Gareth has been watching Dad, and he set up cameras the first time he came up here,” Cai shrugs. “I don’t want to leave you…”

“I got her,” Gareth grunts, dragging an unconscious Dylan behind him before he drops beside me. Sitting up, I kick the alpha who was intent on raping me in the neck, enjoying his grunt.

“Okay,” Cai says cautiously, moving quickly to help his brothers wrap things up.

“The sedative didn’t work very long,” Gareth explains. “We’re still kind of out of it.”

More people storm into the apartment and Gareth stiffens before he recognizes them.

“Uncle Raynard,” Gareth calls out, relaxing beside me. Avoiding any stray bullets, the large alpha ducks down before dropping to the ground in front of us beside Dylan.

Uncomfortably aware that I’m not properly dressed, I curl my legs underneath me and hide them underneath the huge hoody I’m wearing now.

“Hey, kid,” the alpha grumbles. “Sorry we’re late.”

“I didn’t think you were coming at all,” Gareth snorts in amusement.

“Nah, I want to make sure my guys aren’t double crossing you,” he says. His voice reminds me of ground glass, and I press myself closer against Gareth.

Raising the arm that’s not holding a gun, he wraps it around my shoulders.

“I saw your mutt is outside,” Raynard adds.

“Raynard, this is Olivia,” Gareth says. “Olivia, I’ve known this man my entire life, even if he doesn’t share a lick of blood between any of my brothers and I, we still consider him family.

Uncle, when Dylan’s guards came for Olivia, Balthazar attacked them.

I woke up because of his barking, but they still managed to inject us all with a sedative.

When we woke up, I found that they’d knocked my dog out with a kick to the head. ”

“Is he okay?” I ask, horrified.

Raynard sighs, nodding. “He looked to be. He’s whining and complaining out there, but I reminded him to be good.”

“I really don’t think we were given a full dose of a sedative,” Gareth admits.
