Chapter 13 The Woman Behind the Calm

The black luxury car came to a halt in front of a magnificent glass skyscraper that towered above the surrounding buildings.

Employees entering the building slowed their steps.

The security guards immediately stood straighter.

The moment Aadhira stepped out of the car, everyone respectfully greeted her.

"Good morning, ma'am."

"Good morning, ma'am."

Aadhira acknowledged them with a small nod before walking inside.

Her calm footsteps echoed through the grand marble lobby.

Without a word, the receptionist pressed a button.

"The executive elevator is ready, ma'am."

Aadhira entered the private elevator.

The doors closed.

A few employees exchanged whispers.

"She looks even more intimidating after returning from her wedding."

"I heard she came straight to work."

"Nothing distracts her."

The elevator opened directly onto the executive floor.

The entire floor stood up the moment she walked out.

"Good morning, ma'am."

"Good morning."

She walked past them with her usual composed expression before entering the largest office.

The room overlooked the entire city.

Minimalistic.

Elegant.

Powerful.

Without wasting time, she placed her handbag on the table and picked up the day's reports.

A gentle knock interrupted her.

"Come in."

Shanaya entered carrying several files.

"Morning."

"Morning."

Shanaya smiled.

"Congratulations again, Mrs. Rathore."

Aadhira looked up.

"If you start too, I'll deduct your salary."

Shanaya laughed.

"So now you're threatening your business partner?"

"I'm warning my best friend."

Both women smiled.

It lasted only a second before their professional expressions returned.

"The board members are waiting."

"Let's begin."

A few minutes later...

The conference room.

Nearly fifteen directors sat around the massive oval table.

Several international clients joined through video conference.

The atmosphere immediately became serious when Aadhira entered.

Everyone stood.

She gestured for them to sit.

The presentation began.

A senior director spoke first.

"Our European expansion is ready for approval."

Aadhira carefully studied the proposal.

"No."

The room fell silent.

The director looked surprised.

"May I know the reason?"

"The numbers are optimistic."

She flipped another page.

"But unrealistic."

She circled several figures.

"These logistics costs are underestimated."

"This marketing projection ignores regional competitors."

"If we proceed now, our profit margin will decrease within six months."

Nobody interrupted.

She continued calmly.

"Revise the proposal."

"I want realistic numbers."

"Not hopeful ones."

"Meeting postponed for forty-eight hours."

The director nodded immediately.

"Yes, ma'am."

The meeting continued.

Every decision she made was precise.

Logical.

Confident.

No raised voice.

No unnecessary explanations.

Just results.

Even the foreign clients quietly admired her professionalism.

Nearly two hours later...

The meeting finally ended.

As everyone left, Shanaya smiled.

"They'll probably spend the next two days fixing everything."

"They should."

Aadhira replied simply.

A knock came at the door.

Kabir entered carrying a tablet.

Unlike everyone else...

He didn't bother being formal.

"You've become difficult to meet."

Aadhira looked at him.

"So have you."

Kabir sat opposite her.

"We traced one of yesterday's hacking attempts."

Shanaya immediately became attentive.

"Who?"

Kabir shook his head.

"Not enough evidence."

"But whoever they are..."

"They're professionals."

"They erased almost every trace."

He placed several encrypted files before Aadhira.

"They'll definitely try again."

Aadhira remained silent while reading the report.

Finally...

She closed the file.

"Don't interfere."

Kabir frowned.

"You want me to wait?"

"I want them comfortable."

"They'll make mistakes."

"And when they do..."

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"They won't even realize we've been watching."

Kabir smiled knowingly.

"I was hoping you'd say that."

Shanaya crossed her arms.

"I'll strengthen the internal firewall."

Aadhira nodded.

"Good."

"The moment we identify them..."

"Hand everything over to me."

"I'll personally deal with the rest."

Neither of them questioned her decision.

They trusted her completely.

Meanwhile...

Rathore Group Headquarters.

Arjun calmly listened as executives discussed a new international partnership.

One of the visiting businessmen spoke enthusiastically.

"If we're entering the European market..."

"We'll eventually face Astra Global Holdings."

Another executive sighed.

"They've become unstoppable over the past seven years."

"They've acquired companies faster than anyone expected."

Someone else added,

"Their CEO is a mystery."

"Very few people have actually met them."

"Some say the CEO is ruthless."

"Others say they're a genius."

Arjun casually looked through the company profile lying on the table.

His expression remained unchanged.

"Business success depends on strategy."

"Not rumors."

The meeting continued.

The mysterious company quickly left his thoughts.

Evening...

Rathore Mansion.

Aadhira returned home shortly before sunset.

As she entered the living room...

She noticed Vivaan sitting alone with books scattered across the table.

His forehead was creased in frustration.

Aadhira paused.

"Problem?"

Vivaan looked up.

His face immediately brightened.

"Bhabhi..."

"I don't understand this mathematics question."

She walked over.

"Show me."

Vivaan slid the notebook toward her.

Aadhira looked at the problem.

Within seconds...

She picked up a pencil.

Instead of giving the answer...

She patiently explained every step.

Vivaan listened carefully.

A few minutes later...

His eyes widened.

"Oh!"

"I understood!"

Aadhira smiled softly.

"Good."

"If you understand the method..."

"You'll never have to memorize it."

Vivaan grinned.

"Thank you, Bhabhi."

Just then...

Karan walked past the living room.

He paused.

"So..."

"Our genius finally found a tutor."

Vivaan proudly lifted his notebook.

"Bhabhi explained it."

Karan looked impressed.

"Looks like we should send Aarav too."

Aadhira smiled politely but said nothing.

Unknown to them...

Savitri Devi had witnessed the entire interaction from the hallway.

A gentle smile appeared on her face.

Dinner passed peacefully.

The usual conversations filled the dining room.

Aadhira remained quiet.

Arjun occasionally glanced in her direction.

He noticed something.

Vivaan, who usually sat silently during dinner...

Was smiling more today.

After dinner...

Everyone retired for the night.

Inside their room...

Arjun opened his laptop once again.

Aadhira picked up another business journal.

Neither disturbed the other's silence.

Hours passed peacefully.

Finally...

Around midnight...

Aadhira's phone vibrated once.

She glanced toward Arjun.

He was asleep.

She quietly walked onto the balcony.

The screen displayed a single encrypted message.

Her expression didn't change.

She typed only three words.

The reply disappeared seconds after being sent.

Aadhira looked up at the moonlit sky.

Her calm eyes held no fear.

Only patience.

Because she knew...

Every move made by her enemies...

Was bringing them one step closer to their own downfall.
