The narrative begins with Alexis, who serves as a caregiver for her brother, Bobby, a wheelchair user who attends water therapy at the YMCA.

Alexis is in a long-term relationship with Brandon, whom she believes is busy with college homework every Wednesday night.In reality, Brandon has been cheating on her for two years with a bartender named Brianna.

The truth begins to unravel when Nico, Bobby’s therapist at the YMCA, discovers the affair.Nico begins sending anonymous text messages to both Brandon and Alexis to force the truth into the light.

Eventually, Nico confesses to Alexis that he is the "unknown number" and provides photographic proof of Brandon’s betrayal.
