Chapter 11

“So, what was your idea?” Olivia asks as we pull into the Youth Center parking lot.

“Oh, you mean my genius idea?” I ask with a smirk. She rolls her eyes, but I see her biting back a grin.

“Yeah, your genius idea,” she deadpans as we climb out of my car.

I take her hand as we head for the door. “Well, I think you should move in with me and we should spend all our time together.”

“You know we both have jobs, right?”

I sigh. “Fine, all our free time together then.”

“And you don’t think all of this is too soon?”

“Pfft.” I snort, opening the door for her and following her to her office.

“I’ll take that as a no.”

“It’s not too soon. We’re in love, you think I’m awesome, and you’re my Princess Angel Baby.”

She sighs. “You’ve got to stop calling me that.”

I shake my head. “Never.”

“You’re crazy.”

“And you love me and my crazy.”

She just smiles.

I take a seat across from her as she fires up her laptop and starts going through her emails.

“Wait. What?” Olivia whispers, leaning closer to the screen.

“What?”

“We got a ton of donations last night.”

“That’s good.”

“Like a lot.”

“I’m not seeing the problem here.” I swipe a caramel from her desk and pop it in my mouth.

“Not a problem. But… this one donation, the biggest… is from someone named Cameron.”

“Hmm,” I say noncommittally.

“You wouldn’t know anything about that, huh?”

I give her my most innocent look. “Nope.”

“Liar.”

I shrug. “You’re mad that I donated money to a good cause?”

She gnaws on her bottom lip. “No, it’s just… You didn’t have to do that.”

“I know. I wanted to.”

“Thanks,” she says softly.

I nod. “I also want to help you plan the next fundraiser. And help you move in with me.”

My phone buzzes, and I look to see a text from Logan reminding me that practice starts in twenty. “Shit, I’ve got to go. I’ll see you later, though? I’ll bring boxes.”

“I never said yes to moving in with you!” she argues.

“You never said no either, so…” I lean over her desk and drop a kiss on her lips before I turn for the door. “See you after work, dear!” I call over my shoulder as I leave.

I hear her laugh and smile as I head out to my car. I head to practice, whistling as I walk into the locker room to change.

“Someone’s in a good mood,” Declan teases me as he laces up his skates.

“Yep! I’ve got my dream girl, and she’s moving in with me.”

“That was quick,” Logan comments.

I shake my head. “It’s not fast when it feels right. Plus, you can’t talk to me about fast. You were living with Violet before you two were even a couple. So you moved faster than I did.”

“She was my roommate!” Logan states, then shakes his head, deciding not to argue with me.

I turn to Declan. “You’re next.”

He glares at me. “Not a chance.”

I laugh. “That’s what I thought too, and then I met Olivia. It will happen the same for you.”

He groans. “You’re crazy.”

“Heed my warning,” I say in my best Gandalf impression.

“Get on the ice!” Coach calls as he heads out of the locker room.

I hurry to lace up my skates and join the team.

Practice is brutal, but I don’t mind. I can’t stop smiling. Everything seems better today, and I know that it’s because Olivia is my girl. She loves me, even if I’m crazy and impulsive. And I love her more than anything.

I never thought I would be happy about a punishment, but chugging that disgusting drink was the best decision of my life because it led me to Olivia.

When practice ends, I race off the ice, eager to get back to my girl and discuss my grand plan of us living together.
