Chapter 15 Creed #3

“Creed,” she commands as she arches her back and rocks against my hand.

I lean down and sink my teeth into her ass cheek. Her shriek of pleasure and pain sends a shiver down my spine. I allow her a moment to pick up her pace and ride my hand before snatching my fingers free from her greedy pussy.

She can wait.

I want a small taste.

Her frustrated groans morph right into a moan as I drag my tongue from her clit to her ass. One day, my cock is going to fill her smart-ass mouth and that hole.

Today is not that day, though.

My fingers snap my pants open, and I gather as much of her as I can on my tongue in one last stroke. I don’t give her a moment’s breath before burying myself in her completely.

The shrill of my name falling from her has a low chuckle coming from my chest as I hold her hips still.

She tries her fucking best to push against me, but my grip doesn’t allow it. My hand comes down hard and fast against her ass and her gasp of outrage pulls a smile to my lips.

“You want it so bad, then take it. Fuck me, Thayla.”

Chills break out down her back where her shirt slipped up, and I release her hips. My fingers trace across her skin as she rocks.

She starts slow and steady, fucking torturing me.

I roll my neck out and clench my jaw to keep my restraint in check when the little tease rocks up, leaving only the head of my dick in, then slams herself back.

Over and over, she does that fucking shit until I’m breathing so heavy I’m growing lightheaded. My damn knees are about to buckle.

“Enough.”

I snatch her back by her hips before she can pull herself forward once more.

Once I start, I don’t stop.

My thrusts have her hanging on to the comforter so tight her knuckles are turning white. Her repeated pants of yes fuel me.

I reach around her body and circle her clit while my soul surrounds hers. Her begging for more is a reckless prayer I’ll answer anytime.

My ruthless pace picks up as her walls close in around me. Sweat drips down my back and heat races through my blood as I force myself to hold off. She’s so damn close, but her simply coming on my cock isn’t enough for me.

I need her to fall the fuck apart.

For all her teasing and taunting she made me endure, I mimic that sensation and build it up tenfold in the depths of my soul.

I unleash that special kind of hell on her and she fucking shatters.

Her release thrashes through her soul and I grunt as it snatches me right into my own euphoria. I twitch inside of her as I lay my forehead against the center of her back and catch my breath.

Her gripping makes it impossible to draw any air into my lungs.

“Stop that.”

My groan has her chuckling, which does the opposite of what I just commanded. She continues to squeeze my cock in an unpredictable pattern until I slide out of her and crash onto the bed beside her.

I loop my arm under her and pull her until she’s pressed into my side.

“Geez, you wanted me so bad, you didn’t even bother taking my shirt off.”

I bark out a surprised laugh and arch a brow at her.

“Me? I just wanted a kiss. You’re the one who wouldn’t keep your hands to yourself.”

“Lies.” She chuckles as she runs her fingers down my shirt. ’Cause yeah, I’m still dressed too. Hell, my pants are around my ankles. “Your soul was toying with mine, getting me all worked up.”

Yeah, that’s true.

We sigh in sync, falling into a comfortable silence as the high of that amazing—desperately needed—moment simmers down.

My drawn-out breath echoes around the room as she strokes my soul in a soothing, tender embrace.

“You know, until I came here, I couldn’t feel my soul. I don’t think anyone without power can.”

My fingers jerk, disrupting the pattern I was drawing on her back.

“Really?”

“Why’s that so shocking to you?”

“I don’t know. I guess because I’ve never met anyone who couldn’t feel their soul. All gods can. Even children without their powers can. They may not realize that’s what it is, but they sense the thread behind their hearts.”

“Are all souls behind our hearts?”

“Yep. In everyone.”

“So if our hearts aren’t full, our souls probably aren’t satisfied, huh?”

My eyes narrow on her calculated gaze.

“What are you getting at?”

“I’m just saying…Doren’s been waiting a really long time for this. Yemi’s growing excited for her Valtrue, and I honestly think Sevryn needs this. The longer their hearts aren’t full, the less fulfilled their souls are going to feel. Probably.”

“Thayla—”

“We’re going tomorrow and I’m going to protect your heart and soul just as the four of you will protect mine. You have to trust that I can do that. Whatever secrets Hellveilious holds, I can handle.

“You might not be ready to face whatever’s there, and I understand that, but Sevryn nor Yemi batted an eye about going to the Abandon to help get Riven back. We won’t back down from helping them. Even if they don’t know we’re doing that.”

Fuck me, I hate it when her Kyzen comes through.

So damn understanding and reasonable.

“Hellveilious is…wrong. I don’t want you anywhere near it.”

“Well, little late for that. I’ve already stood in the Judgment Rings and won. Hopefully, whoever Yemi’s Valtrue member is, he isn’t really meant to be there. That will both suck and be a good thing.”

Fuck, it’s like Sevryn’s situation all over again.

At least they’ll have something to bond over, I guess.

“Fine.”

“Really?”

“Did you just give me that whole spiel and think I was going to say no?”

“Well, yeah, sort of.”

“What was your plan if I said no?”

“Starshoot there in the morning, then tell V to tell you all where I was.”

My eyes blaze white as my body crowds on top of her.

“Are you trying to kill us? Do you know how much fucking trouble that would bring you?”

“It’s a good thing you said yes then.”

The sneaky little thing leans her body up and locks her lips with mine. I fall right into her trap and give myself over to her.

It takes everything in me to break away from her and go grab a rag to clean her up. I’d much rather stay here, tangled in her arms, than go back out into the Godsdawn.

“Can you teach me something?” I smirk at her question and she scoffs, rolling her eyes. “Not in that department, thank you very much. I’m pretty sure I’m fantastic.”

“You are.”

She hums happily, but that sassy grin grows more serious once again. “Teach me how to block out mine and all of your emotions through my soul.”

I instantly shift on my feet.

“Why?”

“Because sometimes it’s distracting and overwhelming. Sometimes I don’t want what I’m feeling to bleed into all of you. I struggled keeping it in check the entire time we were in the Abandon, and I really don’t even know if I was blocking anything out.”

She was not. Not entirely anyways.

“What were you trying?”

“Honestly, I just focused on where I feel the ropes that lead to each of you and imagined myself not letting anything vibrate through. I kind of pictured like a barrier stopping my feelings.”

I grunt and shake my head.

“It has to be cut directly from the source to block everything completely. That probably would’ve worked if your soul still wasn’t attached to ours, but all that’ll do is null the sensations slightly.”

“So Riven didn’t feel what I was feeling?”

“No, more than likely not.”

“But you all did? That entire time?” I tighten my lips and she groans as if that’s embarrassing to her. “Explain what you mean cut directly from the source.”

“I want to be clear before I teach you this, I’ll always be able to feel you. The way you’ll block the others out won’t be strong enough to stop me completely, and we’ll all be able to tell you’re doing it.”

“Yeah, just like I could tell you and Kyzen did that shit to me.”

Yeah…we did. Probably will again after Hellveilious.

“I busted through whatever it was Kyzen had in place.”

A small laugh breaks free from my pinched lips at how pleased she sounds with herself.

“All of us will be able to do that to you in return, you know?”

“Figured as much, but we’ll treat it as some privacy. If the block is in place, I need it there for a reason.”

I sigh. I don’t like this but whatever. It won’t affect me nearly as much as my brothers.

“Tie a knot in your soul.”

She arches her eyebrows and I hold my snort back. “I’m sorry? Do what?”

“You know exactly what I’m telling you to do. If you can pinpoint our ropes, tug us to you, and purposely send us sensations, you can do this. Grab the strand that stretches toward me and use your little mental fingers to tie a knot in it. That knot will block the flow either way.”

“Okay, but will it hurt?”

I shrug. “Probably after an extended time, but to practice right now, no.”

“Gods, you and your nonchalance about this are annoying. Who talks about tying a knot in a soul like it’s normal?”

“We do, because unfortunately, this is our normal. Not to mention, you asked for this, so get used to it.”

She huffs and puffs as she shakes her hands out as though she’s preparing to actually reach into her chest. Her heavy exhale rings through my ears, and I cross my arms, staring her down. I already know she’ll do it.

She’s just got to wrap her mind around the oddness of it first.

I hold in my very unsatisfied grunt when the flow of all things her slows to a dissatisfying, sluggish pace.

Without letting the disappointment show on my face, I allow it to slink toward her new knot.

“Feel that?”

She releases a deep breath. “Nope.”

“You don’t sound happy about that.”

“It’s a little strange and uncomfortable.

I didn’t want to learn this for it to be a permanent thing, though.

I just wanted to know how in case there comes a time again that I need to lock it all down.

You know, a certain someone promised me—while laid up in the healing villa as a matter of fact—to teach me all kinds of pulls and whatnot with souls but never did. ”

“I also know a certain someone who never brought it up again as well.”

She rolls her eyes playfully. “Yeah, yeah, I know. I wanted, still want, to learn on my own. I really appreciate you teaching me when I ask.”

“I’ll keep teaching you whatever you want to know. Within reason.” I narrow my glare on that tempting ass smirk she gives me. “When you’re ready to, all you have to do is untie the knot. It’ll go back to normal.”

The instant, uninterrupted flow of her soul has my shoulders relaxing.

Her smug grin is annoying…ly sexy.

She presses on her toes, trying to lay a measly kiss to my cheek. I turn into her, tugging her as close to me as I can.

“Come on. Amick jumped into full-fledged planning mode the second I left. We should go help ease his worries.”

She responds to my sigh with a laugh as she laces her fingers through mine and pulls me toward my door.

A round of claps echoes around us when we step out of my room.

“Bravo, you two, well done.”

“What the hell are you talking about?” I ask.

“Eww, what’s on the floor?”

“I’m talking about that grand show the two of you just put on. I heard it all.”

“What?” Thayla shrieks as she whips her head toward Riven. “Was I that loud or are the walls not as soundproof as I assumed?”

“Oh no, I had to press my ear to the door. By the way, that was me you just stepped in.”

“You…” She looks back at the mess on the floor, and I pinch the bridge of my nose.

“Left that for you.” He winks.

“You nasty asshole.”

His eyes widen when she picks up the lamp and I pluck it from her hands.

“No one gave you permission to fucking listen in, Riven,” I grumble.

“Thayla basically did in the carriage,” he argues.

“Well, I didn’t. Go get dressed. We need to get Amick and Kyzen. We’re going to Hellveilious tomorrow.”

“Are we really?”

He giggles and disappears into his room before I can even answer him. My curses are cut short when I catch Thayla staring at the side of my face.

“What?”

Her lips flatten and she shakes her head.

“Nothing.”

Fuck me. Should’ve put my own knot in place.
