Chapter 7 Accepting the Risky Project
I was stunned, then mocked back:
"I have a cleanliness obsession too, maybe even worse than his."
Zhou Linchen's face suddenly looked ugly.
These past two days, I had been rejecting his approaches.
And in just a few seconds, I made my decision.
"Okay, I'll take this task. But first, President Zhou needs to sign these agreements I finalized this morning."
After hearing that, Zhou Qingyan and Zhou Linchen exchanged a look.
Especially Zhou Qingyan, showing a triumphant smile.
"Zhou Linchen, I said Li Xia would take this task; after all, a top student from Jing University, how could she not dare. You lost the bet, you have to go shopping with me this afternoon."
I didn't want to stay any longer.
I took out the file folder from my bag.
I deliberately placed it on top of Zhou Qingyan's photobook.
The photobook became the best underlay.
Zhou Linchen was stunned for a moment.
He uncomfortably picked up the pen and quickly flipped pages to sign.
The sound of the pen tip across the paper was hurried and scribbled.
He didn't even look carefully at the terms in the agreements.
He wouldn't notice the resignation report clipped inside the contract.
According to company rules, employees need to apply thirty days in advance for resignation.
But if the president specially approves, all processes can be completed in a week.
In the following days, I didn't go to the company again.
My personal items that were piled on the workstation.
I had already cleared them out the day I decided to take the task.
Leaving only a clean desktop, as if no one had ever been there.
Five days later, my phone was bombarded by a series of messages that woke me.
I opened the trending topics.
#Xu Family Luxury Car Picks Up Mysterious Woman#
#Boss Xu's Fourth Wife Suspected Exposed#
The second one was prominently at the top.
In the picture, a black Maybach stopped at my doorstep.
The window half down, vaguely showing a man and woman embracing in the back seat.
The man's face wasn't clear.
The woman's side profile captured by the lens resembled me by seventy percent.
The comment section had exploded.
Some dug up Boss Xu's identity.
Xu Zhendong, fifty-nine this year.
Worth billions, also the chairman of Xu Group.
Others posted a photo of me once by Zhou Linchen's side.
Guessing if I couldn't marry into a wealthy young man's family.
I turned to throw myself into a rich old man's arms, preparing to be a stepmom.
I wasn't in a hurry and didn't explain.
But Zhou Linchen suddenly called to question:
"Li Xia, I asked you to negotiate the project, not to mess around. Don't forget! You're still my fiancée."
