Chapter 3 #2

Icelynn huffed out a breath and crossed her arms over her chest as she sank down in her seat.

I took a few more pulls before I held some smoke in my mouth and leaned over the center console.

Icelynn knew what was up. She leaned over and met me halfway before opening her mouth.

I shot gunned a big ass pull to her. That should calm her down some.

She coughed as she blew the smoke out. “Shit.”

“Yeah, this that good shit,” I commented.

“Always is wit’ you.” She patted her chest.

“Yeah, let you tell it, my shit weak,” I replied as I side-eyed her. Yeah, I was still hurt by her stupid-ass comment from earlier.

Icelynn sucked her teeth. “Beretta, you really think your shit is weak when I keep letting you hit? I ain’t in love, so why else would I keep letting you around if the dick wasn’t good?”

Somehow, that didn’t make me feel any better.

I grunted, and we smoked the rest of the blunt in silence.

The fact that she could so nonchalantly admit that she wasn’t in love irritated me.

Women loved to love me, but of course, the one I actually fucked with could take me or leave me. Ain’t that about a bitch?

When we finally got out of the car, I had the sudden urge to grab her hand. We’d never been on that type of time before, but I decided to try it. After I opened the door of the restaurant, I grabbed her hand. Icelynn’s brows scrunched, and she looked up at me.

“What are you doing?”

“Holding your hand.” Nah. She wasn’t about to make me feel stupid for acting on my impulse. I did whatever the fuck I wanted, and at that moment, I wanted to hold her little-ass hand.

“Okay,” she said slowly, but I saw that ghost of a smile on her face again.

My eyes swept across the crowded restaurant before they landed on the last person I wanted to see—this chick I used to fuck with named Stephanie. As if she could feel my glare, her eyes found mine. I shook my head. I wanted to nip this in the bud before it got to a bad place.

Around the time I met Icelynn, Stephanie had started to get too clingy.

I’d only been fucking her for a year, but I knew if she had it her way, she would have my last name and would be carrying my seed right at this moment.

By the look in her eyes, I could tell that fact was still true, even though I hadn’t spoken to her or laid eyes on her for six months.

“Stay here,” I demanded as I kept my eyes on Stephanie.

If I could keep them apart, then everything would be fine.

I could get my breakfast, get some pussy, and kick it with Icelynn for the rest of the day, as planned.

I just had to figure out how to speak to Stephanie without Icelynn knowing.

I could bring her ass to the bathroom . . .

Icelynn crossed her arms over her chest. “Why?”

I glanced ahead of me again and noticed Stephanie walking toward us.

“Shit.”

Icelynn’s eyes followed my line of vision, and she frowned. “Oh. Your ex-bitch.”

“The fuck? How you know that?” Never mind the fact that Stephanie wasn’t my ex. I wanted to know how the hell she knew who that was.

She shrugged. “I do my research.”

I had no idea I had a stalker on my hands.

I was one to talk. She didn’t know I had a tracker on her damn car, and I had made a copy of her house key.

The difference between us was I had no issues admitting that I liked her crazy ass.

Icelynn always liked to play shit cool like she could take me or leave me.

Though I saw through that bullshit, it was validating to see the way she cared about me slip through her tough exterior.

Icelynn had my mind so gone, I didn’t even realize Stephanie was in front of us. She had on biker shorts that were entirely too short for a family restaurant. Her long, silky black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her big breasts popped out of the purple crop top she wore.

“Beretta, what a surprise,” she purred.

Icelynn laughed once, loud and punctuated, but I knew nothing was funny at all.

“Get this bitch,” she murmured.

My gut told me that would be her one and only warning. I chose to take heed.

“You need somethin’, Stephanie?”

“Callin’ her by her name in front of me is wild,” Icelynn said, now looking up at me.

I ran a hand down the back of my neck, but Stephanie spoke before I could say anything.

“I just saw you and thought I would speak. How you been?”

“Good.” I felt like keeping shit short and to the point would be best at the moment.

“I can tell,” Stephanie flirted, oblivious to the storm called Icelynn standing right next to me. She was about to get privy in five . . . four . . . three . . . two . . .

Icelynn stepped between us, so Stephanie had no choice but to look her in the eyes. “Can you tell from over there?” Icelynn pointed across the restaurant, as far away from us as possible.

Stephanie snorted like Icelynn was funny. Poor lady didn’t understand that there wasn’t shit funny at the moment.

“Right here is just fine.” Stephanie tried to look around Icelynn at me.

Bad move.

I’d never seen Icelynn fight before, but I just knew she had to know how to knock a bitch out with a mouth like that.

There was no way she talked so much shit and had such a shitty attitude and didn’t know how to back it up.

If I had to put money on a fight between Stephanie and Icelynn, my money would go straight to Icelynn .

. . plus interest, just for the hell of it.

I didn’t want it to come to all that, though, so I pulled Icelynn back into me and kissed the top of her head. “Chill.”

Her neck twisted so she could look up at me. The look on her face let me know that Stephanie wasn’t the only one putting her foot in her mouth at the moment. Apparently, I’d said the wrong thing.

“Chill? Yeah, aight, nigga. Tellin’ me to chill while she’s being the disrespectful one. Bet.” Icelynn nodded her head and tried to move out of my grasp, but I tightened my hold on her.

“That ain’t even what I meant. I just don’t want to cause a scene, Juicy.”

Her head cocked to the side. “Since when do you give a fuck about causing a scene? You still fuckin’ her, Beretta?”

Stephanie chuckled.

Icelynn’s eyes cut at her, and then she shook her head. “You know what? Y’all got it. This shit ain’t even worth it. I’ll drag a bitch all through this mothafuckin restaurant, and I can’t count on you to bail me out.”

She looked me up and down with disgust before her elbow connected with my abdomen. It didn’t hurt, but it did catch me off guard, and I let her go as I grunted. She turned to look up at me with her hand out. “Give me my key back, Beretta.”

I looked at her like she’d lost her damn mind because she really had. If she thought I went through all that trouble to steal her key, make a copy, and then put it back just to give her my copy, she was really touched in the damn head.

“No.”

Her brows rose. “I’m sure this goofy bitch here would love to give you a key to her place. You clearly don’t need mine.”

That hurt. She really thought I didn’t need access to her like that? She was really tripping.

“Nah. You ain’t gettin’ shit back.”

“Are you fuckin’ her?” she hissed. I knew that was really why she was irritated. Stephanie came in hot, like I owed her something . . . like I still stuck my dick in her. It gave Icelynn the wrong impression, and I hated that.

“What I do with my pussy ain’t your concern.” Stephanie interrupted before I could say anything.

I shook my head.

“Bitch, this nigga been fuckin’ me raw for six months, so while I ain’t concerned with your fish cake, I am concerned with his dick and what kind of bad energy he’s been tappin’ into.

Let that be the last time you speak to me before I make sure you can’t speak at all anymore.

” Icelynn glared at Stephanie, who took a small step back.

I didn’t blame her. I had to stop myself from stepping back too.

Icelynn was intimidating when she wanted to be.

Stephanie simply scoffed, and I spoke before either of them could exchange any more words.

“I ain’t—”

“It don’t matter. I’ll get my locks changed.” Icelynn reached up and flicked my nose hard as hell before she stomped out of the restaurant.

I was about to follow her when I felt a hand on my arm. “Why don’t you come over to my place, B? I miss you.”

I snatched away from her before I gripped her upper arm. “Fuck wrong wit’ you?”

She looked up at me with big light brown eyes and a pout on her lips. “I already told you. I miss you. You don’t want a bitch with an attitude like that anyway. Let me take care of you—”

Her hand found my dick, and I pushed her away, harder than I meant to.

If people weren’t already tuned in to the drama, they for sure were now.

Stephanie stumbled, and I really didn’t even care.

She had violated. My dick wasn’t up for grabs anymore.

It was Icelynn’s property, and I hadn’t even fully realized that until now.

“Stay the fuck away from me. Next time, I ain’t gonna stop my girl from beatin’ yo’ ass.”

It was all I could say before I turned around and walked out of the restaurant, hoping to catch up with Icelynn, but her car was already gone.

I shook my head. Her ass really left me here.

That was okay. I would give her some time to cool off, but it was clear to me that we needed to have a talk before someone ended up hurt, and I wasn’t even all that convinced that it would be one of us.

It could very well be someone who was a liability because of our explosive situation.

Neither of us were good at talking about our feelings, but something had to give.
