Chapter 6

After I finished attaching the hose to Storm’s car, I closed the hood and walked over to my desk.

Grabbing the phone, I laid it back on the counter and closed my eyes.

I know I told her I would call her, but if she knew her car was done, she would either try to get me to start teaching her or worse, leave.

If I were being honest with myself, I would admit that I wanted her to stay.

I haven’t talked to her since she left my house two days ago, but it wasn’t easy.

I kept seeing her standing in my driveway looking scared asking me if I had a girl.

I wanted to fall out laughing, but I kept her in the dark.

I didn’t see what it mattered to her for if I had a bitch.

Shorty probably wanted to take her ass from me.

I was extremely attracted to her, but it was probably because I knew I couldn’t have her.

I had every intention on telling her to get her nosy ass the fuck out of my house, until she said she felt proud of me.

I knew my brother was proud of me, but he never said it.

My dad passed away before I fully became who I am.

So, he never told me either. Storm was the first person to ever say that to me and that shit hit different.

I never cared about what people thought about me, and I didn’t give a fuck about them kissing my ass.

Everyone wanted to be around you when you’re him, but it felt good to be around someone real for a change.

Blowing out a hard breath, I picked the phone back up and dialed her number.

“Hey,” she had so much excitement in her voice my dick bricked up.

“Your car is ready.” That was all I said before hanging up.

Cursing under my breath, I shook my head.

I didn’t know how to talk to her ass. I didn’t like the way she had me bitching up every time I heard her voice.

Seeing my door open, I was shocked to see it was Storm walking in.

She had this goofy ass grin on her face, and it almost made me smirk with her.

“I was across the street hoping you called.” She walked over to her car, and I could see how much she loved it.

From the way she rubbed her hand over it to the big ass smile that covered her face.

“Hey, girl. I missed you so much. I can’t wait to get you out on the road.

” Hearing her say that pissed me off. She was about to leave town now that she got what she came for.

“You can go now. Leave the keys to my shit on the counter. Nobody will go in that house. I’ll be by there tomorrow to get it.” I turned and walked away. Feeling my arm snatched, I turned around with a mug on my face.

“You don’t get to keep treating me like a fucking light switch.

One minute you’re on, then the next you’re putting me out of your fucking house telling me to get on with it.

I thought we turned a different leaf. If not friends, at least cordial.

You don’t get to push me away when you want a punching bag. ”

“The fuck! You the one said you can’t wait to get on the road. I ain’t put you out of shit. I don’t have time to play games with you, Storm. Like I said, you can leave the keys.” Her goofy ass smirked before going into a full on laugh.

“When I said on the road, I meant you teaching me how to race. Dodge, I’m not leaving you.

I mean… Fuck! I’m not leaving here is what I meant.

” Nodding, I walked over to her car and got in the passenger side.

On the outside, I kept my face cool. On the inside, I was smiling like a bitch.

Even though she made a mistake in how she worded it, I loved hearing her say she wouldn’t leave me.

Chevy’s face crossed my mind briefly, but before I could completely go into a panic, she climbed in the car practically bouncing.

“Your shit is nice, but I missed my girl so bad. It’s not a car out here like her. ” This time I did smirk.

“You drove in my everyday truck. The Camaro is… was my brother’s. You haven’t seen my car. If you saw my shit, you would have an instant orgasm.” I might have been tweaking, but it looked like her eyes trailed to my dick.

“You always gotta do the most. I hope you can back up all that shit you be talking.”

“You wanna see?” Storm thought it over and turned her eyes back to the road.

“If I lose my next race, you giving me my money back. You got it. I thought you was some broke ass mechanic, but now I know you got that munyon. Put me on coach.” Shaking my head, I smirked at her.

Most people had that perception of me. Not only did I make hella bread from racing, but I’ve done commercials, and most of the customs I do on a car run about fifty thousand or more. I was far from broke.

“I ain’t giving you shit. Didn’t nobody tell your bean head ass to go out there trying to race people you ain’t ever seen hit the track. You let that big city mentality fool you.” Storm drove off after smacking her lips in that hood girl kind of way. Neck rolling and all.

“You always gotta do the most. I hope you get whiplash.” This time, I did laugh. I could tell Storm was shocked because her ass swerved while trying to stare at me.

“First lesson, keep your eyes on the road. You’re not me.

Hell, you’re not even a third of me, and even I make mistakes,” I said the last part in a whisper.

For the first time since I met Storm, she understood what I meant, remained quiet, and did as I asked.

When we got to the track, I was ready to go back to the shop.

This was starting to feel like a bad idea.

She got out of the car, but I sat still trying to think of a way to back out of this without hurting her feelings.

My door opened and she tugged at my arms.

“Don’t do that. You have enough on your plate dealing with me.

You don’t need to add to it with shit from your past. In whatever way you feel you were wrong back then; you have paid for it and then some.

If it makes you feel any better, you’re not racing.

I am. If it was all bullshit and you only had that one trick, just say that.

You don’t have to make up some bullshit to sit your oily ass in the car.

” Just like that, she said what she needed to, but then made a joke so I couldn’t dwell on it.

Smiling, I stepped out of the car and put her in a headlock.

“Until you grow a dick, you not the nigga in this relationship. I’m him, so quit playing with me. The only time my shit will be oily is if I use some lube to go in that ass.” Her body went stiff for a second and then she relaxed against me.

“My dick probably bigger than yours. Chip a pretty good size, so what you saying?” I let her go and looked at her like she was crazy.

“You named your dick, Chip?”

“It’s not my dick. Well, I guess it is. Why the fuck are we talking about this? You’re distracting me like I can’t see what you’re doing.” I wanted her to tell me she didn’t have a slong in her backpack, and that she wanted mine.

“I needed you to clear your mind. Come here.” She walked over to me, and I placed my hands at her temple and began to rub.

Her ass slightly moaned, and I almost forgot why we were here.

Trying to get back focused, I continued to massage until I thought her head was clear.

“Everything you think you know about racing, throw that shit out the window. I need you to hear only me. Trust only me. Feel only me.” The last part came out in a whisper, and I wanted to cover her mouth with mine.

“Do you feel me inside of you, Storm? Am I inside your mind?”

“Yes, I feel you inside of me.” My dick bricked up, and I knew it was time to move on.

Letting her go, I turned my back and walked towards the car.

It sounded as if she cursed under her breath, but she had no idea.

I only walked off because shit was about to go left.

I was about to be the only nigga ever inside them guts and that shit was gone change her life forever.

I’m sure she thought I was going back in my shell.

“Storm, you gone stand there looking slow or are you gone get behind the wheel?”

“I’m coming, damn!” My dick jumped, and I was glad she hadn’t made it to the car yet. When she climbed inside, it was clear she was agitated. Shaking my head, I gave the first lesson.

“Fix your fucking face. Racing is fun, but it’s not something to do. It’s something that’s in you. If you’re excited, nervous, or angry; you are going to drive that way. Become one with your car, and then the road. You’re ready?”

“I’m ready.” When I looked at Storm, her face was focused, and her mind looked clear. I could literally see the adrenaline running through her body, and I knew she was hanging on to every word I was saying. That’s exactly where I needed her to be.

“Close your eyes.” When her eyes closed, I grabbed her hand and placed it on the gear shift.

Keeping my hand placed on hers, I pulled the shift into gear.

“Wait until you feel that moment your car tells you to go.” She opened her eyes, but I immediately stopped her.

“Keep your eyes closed, Storm. Listen to me and trust me.” Twenty seconds later, she took off.

The fact that there wasn’t a nervous bone in her body as she drove let me know she trusted me unequivocally.

“Turn left slightly.” When the car turned, I closed my eyes.

It was this same lot I taught Chevy how to race.

“In ten seconds, turn left. When you feel yourself losing control in the back, turn your wheel in the opposite direction.”

“Okay.” I didn’t need to watch the track. I knew every crack, crease, and line on this mufucka. I could see it clearly in my thoughts. It was embedded in me. Feeling the car fishtailing, I knew we were on the bend. Storm was now drifting whether she knew it or not.

“Hold it for thirty seconds and then cut right.” In my mind, I could see Chevy listening to me intently.

The tears were slowly coming down my face, but it wasn’t sad tears.

I felt as if I was reconnecting with him in this moment.

The car straightened, so I opened my eyes.

Looking over at Storm, I could see Chevy smiling hard as fuck.

Her face did the same and I felt proud in this moment.

“Omg, Dodge. I did it. I drifted and I can’t believe I did it with my eyes closed.”

“You don’t need to see if you’re a part of the road.

That was perfect for your first time. By the time we leave here today, you’re not going to need me to tell you when to do it.

You’re going to know when to do it on your own.

” I was about to let it go, but I decided to say something else.

“I’m proud of you.” Her smile lit up the car, and I knew this was what I needed.

Whether Storm knew it or not, but she gave me another moment that I needed with my brother.

“In ten seconds, turn left.” I laid back and closed my eyes again, and it didn’t go unnoticed that I still had my hand on top of hers.
