CHAPTER 12

ZYREN

What is this strange and wonderful creature, and what have I done to earn the blessing of her presence?

Stars above, she’s incredible.

The only thing more glorious than her full of milk and eggs for me is her gushing them all over the floor.

I suck greedily at her breasts, kneading and pawing. What composure I can muster is quickly shattered by her next wave of pleasure. The more time our consciousnesses spend in proximity, the more naturally they attune to each other.

Each of our sensations feeds into the other, and together our arousal builds past sanity.

My abdomen spasms, leaking cum and fresh eggs on the floor, making room for the milk that I drink and drink. The only reason my stinger isn’t down her throat, filling her stomach with eggs, is that I can’t muster focus long enough to aim.

When her breasts are empty, my mouth finds hers again, devouring. She moans and reaches for me, grabbing my face and hair clumsily as the venom’s hold gradually releases her.

Her climaxes now only bring an egg or two, and her stomach is almost back to its natural rolls.

I break the kiss, massaging her breasts to ease her before sinking my hands into the flesh of her stomach, finding the last few eggs in her womb.

The hucow transformation has made her tissues exceptionally elastic, but they will still need a few hours to recover fully from such a large brood of eggs.

I press the eggs downwards, and she cries out at the sensation of her cervix stretching.

I work two eggs out like that before another powerful orgasm ripples through her, contracting the muscles under my hands.

Between the strength of her climax and the precise pressure from my hands, her womb empties.

Nova floats in the afterglow, exhausted, unable to do anything about the last egg still nestled in her cunt. I reach inside, and she moans with pleasure at the stretch when I pull it out.

The mess of fluid and eggs—both fresh and incubated—will have to wait.

I scoop Nova’s limp body into my arms and carry her to the hot spring.

The healing waters wash her clean and ease the weight she’s carried so well. I pull her to my chest, massaging her plush flesh. I could spend my whole day with my fingers buried in her like this, or in her cunt, or in her mouth…

Her steady, peaceful breath is sweet music. Then a sour note sounds—the first hint of pain as the venom wears off. I encourage her breathing to mimic mine, and I keep her asleep like that as long as I can.

When I can no longer prevent her from stirring—moaning in pain as she does—I sing to her.

She hovers on the edge of sleep, on the balance between pleasure and pain.

Finally, I can no longer counteract the latter.

Nova whimpers awake, clinging to my chest, and I hold her tightly.

As the next wave approaches, I press my forehead to hers. She tries weakly to pull away, but I don’t allow it—I firmly grip her neck to hold her in place.

Searing pain tears through my body, as if every panel of chitin is being grasped and wrenched apart while knives sink into my flesh.

I force my breathing to stay even, to ride out the wave.

Nova lifts her head as it passes. “You shouldn’t…”

“Does it lessen your pain?”

Nova’s eyes waver, so blue and bright, as she considers lying. “Yes… it does.”

Her honesty is the most precious gift.

I caress her cheek. “Then I should, and I will.”

I sing to her again, and her wariness softens. One day, I will find a way for her to find true comfort without this backlash. Until then, I’ll bear the pain with her.

As the next wave approaches, I lead Nova into a slow, deep exhale. She obeys exquisitely, and the searing wave passes faster than it might have otherwise.

Soon, the worst of it is over. Nova relaxes into my touch, body staying soft as we endure the rest together.

I settle Nova into another nest of blankets—the last clean ones I have—and assess what’s become of my house.

The floor of my workshop is drenched in fluid and covered in eggs.

Sylvus could have warned me.

In areas, the wood and pulp are already starting to soak up the moisture, weakening their structural integrity.

It might be easier to just build a new house. I strongly consider it. But the view and the crook of the branch here are particularly favorable, so… cleaning it is.

I punch a hole in the side wall—it’ll be the smallest of the needed repairs—and use a wooden panel to scrape out as much of the mess as possible. From there, I pull back all the curtains and open all the shutters, letting in fresh mountain air.

My wings buzz, fanning air through the room and hastening the drying.

While I wait, I get to work chewing fresh wood to make pulp. It’s not my favorite activity, but it’s necessary. The wood’s flavor causes my mouth to secrete a special kind of saliva that will aid in breaking down the pulp and giving the final product structural integrity.

I smear the resulting mash on the areas that need repairs, and it quickly hardens and binds to what’s already there.

A few hours later, when Nova stirs again, the workshop is mostly repaired. I’ll need to come up with a solution to keep from ruining it again…

Nova sits up, combing her hair back with her fingers. She stretches, adjusting to being able to move her body again. There’s relief, but also a small tinge of regret. I smile to myself, proud to see her begin to accept my doting.

“You must be hungry,” I say, scooping Nova up and carrying her to the kitchen.

“Starving,” she admits.

I keep her busy with more coffee as I prepare fruit and nuts for her. While she eats that, I cook down some vegetables in a solar-powered heat pot, knowing the fiber and vitamins will do her well, but will be too much for her to digest raw.

When I hold out the end of the spoon to her, she obediently eats from it. She doesn’t remind me that she can use her hands—in fact, the thought of feeding herself doesn’t even occur to her.

Good. She’s adapting well.

“How does your body feel?” I ask her.

“Alright,” she says, too quickly.

“Hm. That’s not a very useful question, is it?” I give her an admonishing look, then grip her chin firmly, pressing our foreheads together. Her hips and head already ache again, but it’s not as bad as when she first came to my office.

That’s progress. I’ll take progress.

I step behind her and rub her hips, sinking into the muscles responsible for the worst of the soreness.

Nova lets out a deep sigh, comforted. Then she finds my gaze again, mind working entirely too hard for how recently she was unconscious with exhaustion.

“It’s already been a few days… when do you need to go back to see your patients again?”

“That’s irrelevant.”

“But what if they need their doctor?”

I settle a tolerant, evaluating look on Nova.

She withstands it bravely, keeping her chin tipped up.

“Fine,” I murmur, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “You’ve earned an indulgence. There are other doctors they can visit while I’m away.”

Her brow furrows. “How long will you be away? Until I’m… cured?”

I nod. “If you like.”

“What if I… don’t want that?”

“Why not?”

Nova looks down. “It’s a lot of pressure. Pressure to get better.”

I can already feel the ache ramping up in response to her concern. The pain reacts, worsening at any sense of lingering danger. And when the pain itself is a lingering danger, it’s a vicious cycle.

I grip her face firmly, which always succeeds in scattering her thoughts. “There’s no rush, little lamb. We have all the time in the world.”

She relents, but a pout clings to her lip.

I sigh. “If it puts you at ease… I could resume my practice earlier than expected. I’ll take you to the office with me. You’ll have to behave, of course.”

She nods eagerly. “I can behave.”

A ghost of a smile reaches my lips. “I will greatly enjoy testing that.”

Nova blushes, and it spreads down her pale chest in the most delicious way.

“But,” I add, “I will be taking at least a month to have you all to myself.”

“What about—”

“Ah-ah. Choose wisely before you defy me, Nova, or you’ll soon find out how quickly and how many times you can orgasm when subjected to stimulation without reprieve or mercy.”

Her pupils blow wide as her vision loses focus. Heat pulses at her core. “Not fair,” she whines, blinking and trying to regain her composure.

I silence her by stuffing her mouth with fruit.

She looks up at me, shocked and incredulous, cheeks puffed out from my abuse.

I let out a quiet laugh, and she leans over and shoves my arm.

Then her azure eyes shine up at me. “I like your laugh.”

It’s my turn to blush. Still, my composure doesn’t crack. “I apologize that you’ll hear it so little, then.”

“Challenge accepted.”

I laugh again, and her eyes sparkle so brightly I can’t help but sweep her into a deep kiss, all thoughts of food or anything else forgotten.

The only thing that matters now is making her sing with pleasure.

I return Nova to the hot spring that evening. There’s little light here beyond the natural, and the stars streak overhead in glittering brilliance.

Nova leans back against my chest as she floats, watching them sparkle.

She raises a hand and points. “That’s the Milky Way over there. Some of the photons reaching us now… may have bounced off of Earth. Maybe even back when the dinosaurs were still alive.”

I weave my fingers through her hair, spreading it in the water. “The puppets in your movie were impressive. Even though it was fiction, it really did bring dinosaurs back to life, in a way.”

“Yeah… humans love dinosaurs…” She sighs.

“It’s cruel, almost. Twenty light-years is hardly any distance at all in galactic terms. You can put a telescope almost anywhere and find light from that little blue planet.

But it’s gone. That light traveling through the endless void of space is all that remains… ”

I massage the spring water into her scalp, drawing the rest of the sweat away. “How much of the cataclysm did you personally experience?”
