Chapter 40 Katarina
This was so weird. Blaise had shifted, and he was so beautiful.
But then Blaise had crash-landed and now he didn’t know how to return to his human form.
I huffed a laugh as I thought about what had transpired in the past hour.
Crazy sex with a man I never thought would allow me to breach his heart.
Said man’s first shift into a magnificent beast I thought only lived in fairy tales. And then a game of Pictionary with him.
Must be a Tuesday.
I eventually found the kitchen tucked behind that great room I’d run through earlier.
It looked like Blaise had kept the original layout, and the room itself was much larger than I would have expected for a castle.
On each side wall were two large, open fireplaces with metal bars holding cast iron pots and pans over the opening.
In the center sat an oversized island made from butcher block and round wood posts.
But behind the island and on the opposite side from where I was standing, I could see where Blaise had added his modern upgrades.
There was a stainless-steel farmhouse sink, a dishwasher, and a granite countertop that stretched to the end of the wall.
And sitting on top of that was a charging station with a modern smart phone plugged into the wall. I didn’t have time to wonder why Blaise would have a phone here unless he visited more often than I realized. But at this moment, that didn’t matter.
Grabbing the phone, I ran back outside and found Blaise standing in the same place. When I opened my mouth to ask for the password, he pointed to the dirt where he’d written me a message.
I chuckled and gave him a pointed look. “Your password is 0-0-0-0?” I swear he looked embarrassed. With a shake of my head, I unlocked his phone. “I don’t know Dorian’s number.”
Blaise groaned and jerked his chin to another dirt scuff mark he’d made when he tried his first landing. And sketched into the ground was a phone number.
“Well, aren’t you so on top of it?” I teased him as I hit the keys. Blaise… always prepared for anything.
Dorian answered on the first ring. “Where the fuck are you, Blaise? Where’s Katarina? I swear if you did anything to her I will—”
“Dorian,” I interrupted. “I’m here. We’re here, and we’re fine.”
He let out a sigh and I heard him snap his fingers in the distance. “Oh my god, Kitty Cat. We were freaking out when we saw the scorch mark in the library and noticed that demon book Blaise always talked about and—”
“Katarina?” Roman cut him off. “Are you both okay?”
“Wait, that’s Kat?” Aiden shouted in the background a moment before I heard scuffling sounds and muffled curses. “Give it to me, bloodsucker. That’s right, I made fire and I’ll use it.”
I clasped my hand over my mouth to stifle the laugh. I really shouldn’t laugh at Aiden threatening Roman with his fire magic, but at least they were home and out of jail. “Kat, are you okay?” Aiden asked just as Blaise rumbled a low growl in his chest.
“Yes, we’re fine. We’re in Scotland but we’re fine.”
“Scotland?” Dorian shouted in the background. “What the fuck is in Scotland?”
“Castles,” I said with a smile, surprised at how much just hearing their voices made me feel better. “Look, we need to talk to Dorian. Can you put him on?”
Another scuffle, followed by a string of curses filled the air. “Stop it, Aiden!” Roman finally spat. “We can all share the phone!”
Just like they share me, I thought briefly before Roman spoke again.
“Katarina, what’s going on?” And just as I was going to ask for Dorian again, he said, “I’m turning the video on.”
I flipped the phone so everyone could see us and lifted it up toward Blaise. He rumbled a greeting and the men sucked in a sharp breath.
“Was that the half-breed?” Aiden asked.
“Holy fuck,” Dorian mumbled.
And Roman simply said, “I knew it.”
Blaise shook his head and spread his wings, encouraging me to take the lead. “So, I’m standing here in front of a dragon,” I said with a smile. “And he’s pretty amazing.”
The guys laughed, but it was Roman who spoke first. “Congratulations, old friend.”
Blaise huffed and hung his head like he was embarrassed. I reached out and touched his face in support.
“The thing is,” I continued. “He doesn’t know how to shift back.”
This time, Aiden made the loudest noise. “Really?”
Blaise growled, so I gave him a disapproving look. He could admonish the men later. Once he was human, and we were back in New Orleans. “That’s not helping, Aiden.”
“Sorry, luv,” he called out as his handsome face filled the screen. “I miss you.”
“I miss you all, too. But we need Dorian’s help. How does he do it?”
Dorian’s voice echoed into the now evening air.
I could only see the top half of his face, meaning he must have his lips right up against the speaker.
I thought about saying something, but decided to just let it go.
I didn’t mind looking at his beautiful eyes while he coached Blaise.
“Just think about walking on two feet again. Picture something that grounds you as a human. Something you love.”
Blaise and I made eye contact, and I smiled up at him. I started rubbing his nose and as he lowered himself to the ground, a deep hum rumbled in his chest. I repositioned the phone on my legs as I snuggled in beside him. “What else, Dorian? What else does he need to do?”
“Breathe,” he said. “Do your best to relax your mind and body. In my experience, the calmer I am, the less it hurts.”
I didn’t miss Blaise’s eyes crinkle at that thought.
But this was working. I could see his breathing slow while I stroked his scaly skin.
He was working on it and listening to Dorian’s words while he continued to talk him through the shift.
Realizing I may be sitting next to human Blaise again, I quietly snapped a selfie of our heads, mine looking puny next to his stunning form.
But my red curls shone against his black skin and even though there was a sharp contrast, they also somehow fit together.
“I think it’s working,” I whispered to Dorian when I felt Blaise begin to shrink beneath me.
I kept my eyes ahead, looking at the darkening skies beyond the cliff.
Blaise didn’t need me watching him. It was bad enough all three of the men were squeezing in to see what Blaise was doing. I took a snapshot of their faces too.
After nearly ten minutes had passed, I found myself lying next to a fully human Blaise again. He was still curled in a ball on his side, but when I tried to move away from him, his arm snaked out and wrapped around my waist. He held me tight like I might disappear at any moment.
Without looking at the phone, he said, “Roman, we need a plane.”
I laughed at those words because… well, who orders a plane like that? No one in my very teeny tiny circle. But Roman simply nodded. “Which airport?”
“Glasgow,” Blaise answered when I shrugged. “And thank you.”
Smiling again, I returned my attention to the video. It was dark here now, but I had no doubt they could still see us just fine. “Are you okay?” I asked.
Roman glanced at the other two men standing behind him, and they all dropped their gaze. That didn’t bode well. “We will be,” Roman finally said. “But we need you both home.”
“I miss you guys.”
Aiden snatched the phone and pressed his lips against the screen. As I giggled, he said, “We miss you too, Kitty Cat. Come home now.”
“Love you!” Dorian called out after Roman grabbed the phone again and started to walk away.
“I’ll text the flight info as soon as I have it. Hurry back.”
“Yes, Kitty Cat.” Aiden had the phone again. “Hurry back so we can bond and—”
This time it was Blaise who snatched the phone from my hand. “We’ll see you soon,” he grumbled into the screen a second before he ended the call.
I laughed at the giant smile gleaming across Blaise’s face. He was naked and covered in dirt. And somehow that had me clenching my thighs together as I watched his muscular body crawl slowly over the top of me.
“Feeling better?” I asked him.
“Much,” he growled. His right hand grabbed my skirt and started to lift it. “I feel great,” he whispered as his fingers dug into my hip. “In fact, I feel so energized I can’t think about anything other than fucking you right now.”
I didn’t even have time to respond before his oversized erection pushed into me.
I yelped in pleasure when he thrust as deep as he could get.
He tucked his right hand underneath my knee and lifted my leg up toward his shoulder.
His other hand snaked under my hips, pulling them up so he could enter me as deep as he wanted.
“Fuck,” he moaned while he pounded in and out over and over.
I didn’t care that I was in the dirt. Or that it was dark. Or that it was getting cold. All I cared about was forming this connection with Blaise again. He’d been torturing himself for so many years, and it made me very happy to see him free of that world.
I arched my back as much as I could to feel him deep inside.
With arms stretched above my head, I wrapped my fingers into the tall grass and pretended I was chained up again.
The sounds of our hips slapping together nearly matched the lapping of the waves on the shores of the lake.
A natural soundtrack to our natural behavior.
Blaise’s cock pressed into the good spot and I felt the sudden burst of orgasm rip through me before I could try and hold it back.
I shouted his name while the tingles swept through my body from my cheeks to my toes.
Blaise pounded into me harder and faster, his fingers digging into my skin and his gritted teeth holding back his pleasure.
His skin was on fire as he came inside of me.
With face up to the night sky, he roared.
Goosebumps erupted on my flesh. The beast inside of him should scare me, but that sound he just made? That sound had me wishing I could crawl inside of his massive body and stay with him forever. He was my beast, and I was his.
“Katarina,” he breathed against my stomach once he finished and slumped forward. “Jesus.”
I giggled and pressed his head into my neck while I played with his dark hair. “I know,” I agreed.
“If we hadn’t been transported here by a demon I may now owe a favor to, I would have to say this has been the best day of my life.” Blaise kissed my shoulder and then my ear. And then he hit that spot on the side of my neck that had me clenching his dick that was still inside.
The phone buzzed but I couldn’t see it. Without removing his lips from my neck, Blaise reached to the side and found it. He spared a glance at the screen and quickly returned his lips to my body. “Plane will be ready in five hours.”
“Mmm.” It was all I could say, especially when I felt him growing hard inside of me again.
“It will take two hours to make the drive.” He sucked on my bottom lip and moved his right hand to my thigh.
“Okay.”
“That gives us three more hours.”
He flipped me around so fast, I let out a yip of excitement as I found myself straddling him in the grass.
His hands pushed underneath my tank and his adept fingers found both of my nipples.
I ground my hips into his when he pinched them tightly.
Riding his cock from this position put a lot of pressure on my clit and I immediately felt the pleasure build.
“Can we just do this for three hours?” I whispered.
My heart ached for the two of us. He’d been so afraid to trust me when we first met, and now I was the one who felt like I was getting addicted to his broody nature. And his body. And his soul.
“We can do this forever.” He guided my hips over his cock and watched me while I rode him.
The lapping waves and cool breeze blew my hair across my face, making me feel like a wilding fucking under the stars and taking ownership of the beast below me.
I thought about my witch and demon blood, and with that thought, I screamed up into the night while I plunged Blaise as deep inside of me as I could.
I swear his cock pierced my stomach, and as that little bit of pain turned into pleasure, I watched in bliss when that now familiar blue fog swirled out of his mouth and into my own.
I swallowed Blaise down. Whatever that fog represented, it now meant that he was a part of me.
We were connected and not just on a carnal level.
Our bond had been forged out of sex, but it was also so much more.
My heart clenched again at the weight of what that meant.
All four men. I was irrevocably bonded to all four of them.
Blaise and I released at the same time, making loud noises and calling out to each other like no one else in the world could hear.
My climax lasted longer than the first, little waves of pleasure erupting each time I moved against him.
Blaise moaned and kept his fingers wrapped around my hips until we both stopped shuddering.
“As I was saying,” he laughed. “We have a few hours. How about some food and a shower?”
I giggled while pushing my hair out of my face. The sweat on my forehead kept the curls at bay long enough for me to look down at the man inside of me. “Both of those sound great. But this is great too.” I squeezed my muscles.
I bounced against Blaise’s hips when he chuckled. “Believe me, Katarina. I would like to live inside of you like this.”
“But?” I asked.
“But I thought you might want a tour of my castle.”
He could have said almost anything else, and I wouldn’t have wanted to move.
But I’d always loved castles, and I’d never seen a real one before, so when I slid off his hips and jumped to my feet, I clapped.
“Yes, I would very much like a tour of your castle.” Using my skirt to clean off the wetness dripping down my legs, I added, “Maybe we can start with the shower?”
Blaise smiled, stood, and swept me up into a hug. I was so tiny compared to his giant frame, but somehow we still fit together. We fit together perfectly.
“Thank you,” he breathed against the top of my head.
“It was all you,” I said as I squeezed him tight.
“It was both of us.”
I let him pick me up into his arms and nestled my head against his shoulder. He walked us toward the castle, able to easily see through the darkness. And each step we took, the more my love for him grew.
I loved Blaise.
I loved all the men.
And I’d be damned if I was going to let anyone take them away from me.
