Holy Hocus Pocus #2

His eyes flicked over to two men in the midst of removing their clothes, mouths practically eating each other.

The fog did little to hide their revved-up state, and I was forced to look away when it was clear the two had every intention of finishing what they started.

The eroticism right in front of everyone was insane.

“Okay, well, for them…yeah,” Phillip amended with a sly grin.

“You’re an asshole,” I complained, moistening my lips. I stole another look at the couple, who were now visibly in the middle of sex, and I outright sighed in protest. “A real fucking asshole.”

Never imagined I’d be spectator to a live sex show, but here I was, in full view of everything. I’m never trusting this lying bastard again.

I didn’t miss the way the other Hunter smirked, or how his hand squeezed around my ass. The sexual tension between us was instantaneous, and I internally berated my body’s clear treachery. Again, it proved sex was more important than my moral values. I was a walking, talking contradiction.

“It’s a spell that heightens what was already there inside of you—the lust, the yearning, the sensuality and desire,” the Austrian explained in a low, sensuous whisper. “Like an amplifier of certain emotions. That sort of thing.”

His leg slid between mine, emphasizing the Austrian’s point when I moaned.

“It doesn’t create this. It was all inside you to begin with.

Though, I’d been fully aware of this side of you long before coming here.

” The Hunter’s lips teased the shell of my ear.

“I mean, this sexy side of you propositioned me out of nowhere and took advantage of my good will.”

“Shut up,” I hissed. An appreciative, needy sound erupted from my throat with another slide of his thigh. Jaw clenching, I tightened my hold on him when I should be pushing him away. “I don’t get off on voyeurism, and I certainly never wanted to celebrate my birthday at a sex party, damnit.”

Phillip bent his head down and nipped my naked shoulder, still chuckling.

“You can break this so easily. People come here to give themselves a reason to give in. The spell is pretty simple and doesn’t require much to tear apart, so I want to see you do it without instruction.

I want to see where your raw power lies. ”

“No, you want to toy with me,” I bemoaned, still swaying with the music.

The beat carried through the air, and the desire to run my fingers through his hair hit like a yearning I couldn’t deny.

Without realizing when it happened, my hands glided up Phillip’s strong back as if they had a mind of their own.

Then my fingers sunk desperately into his silky hair.

Impossibly close, I scored my fingernails down the back of his neck, the urge to touch him stronger than before.

I need to kiss him.

Phillip’s eyes shut and his powerful jaw clenched, visibly reacting, which was unlike the ever-cool Hunter. “Focus on the feeling coming into you. Follow your instinct.”

If it was so easy then why hadn’t Phil broken the spell over him? Or had he? There wasn’t any way to know for sure if he was or wasn’t under the spell. It stoked my curiosity, but I did what the other Hunter instructed and focused on the sensation coming into my body.

Under the spell, my hips moved in perfect sync with his and our heated breaths came closer with every gyration until there wasn’t anywhere we didn’t touch.

When our lips finally met, the kiss was the hungriest yet.

It put heat into an already blazing fire, and I wanted more of it as I dragged him down, nibbling eagerly along his jaw and neck.

Phillip’s hot groans and satisfied grunts encouraged a deeper kiss, but I found the strength to drive out the sensation.

It took a minute to get my thoughts together, but I worked hard to find and push the foreign sensation from my body.

The circulating desire and needy thoughts in my head eased, and then the tension in my body relaxed.

It wasn’t enough to free me from the other Hunter entirely, but it was plenty to deny his kiss.

Phillip’s tongue traced a line from neck to shoulder, leaving a wet path on my naked skin. With a suffering pant, he locked our hips together. “Good girl. Keep focusing.”

“Sort of a tall order with you doing that,” I breathed and unknowingly bent my neck to the side to give him more access. “And why haven’t you broken your side of it?”

“More exciting this way,” Phillip whispered hotly, his hand gliding between us and molding over my breast. “Can’t lie, I’m hoping you don’t figure it out too quickly. It’d ruin the fun.”

“And let you win? No thanks.”

Closing my eyes, I searched for the feeling again.

I put all my energy into expelling it, knowing I couldn’t give into it.

Knowing that if I did, it was another step down a path of certain destruction.

Knowing he wouldn’t stop what was happening, so I had to.

I refuse to have sex in front of a bunch of fucking strangers.

It happened in an instant, the break. It was like being released from a hold someone had over me, and my body came into my control once more. The movement ceased, and Phillip sighed loudly despite grinning from ear to ear in pride.

“Much too fast,” he complained with a soft laugh. “But I’m impressed.”

I gritted my teeth and flipped him off before leaving the other Hunter behind on the dance floor. “Are we done here?”

“V.”

My arm was captured, rudely stalling my badass escape.

The emotion crowding my chest was awfully close to betrayal, but I ignored it as much as one could.

Pivoting, I yanked my arm and landed a hand on my hip.

“I should’ve guessed this would be your idea of a night of fun, but I made a promise,” I bit out angrily. “Sex party and I’m out.”

Phillip brushed back his hair in agitation, glancing quickly at the bar. “I didn’t bring you here for that, promise.”

“Bullshit.”

“There’s someone here I want you to meet.”

Confused, my anger faded. “Who?”

“Someone who might be able to shed some light on your parent’s death, and I…” Phillip groaned and threw his head back. “I thought you might want to hear what they have to say.”

I froze, blindsided. “And they’re a magic-user?”

“Something like that,” Phillip replied evasively, walking forward slowly.

“Look, they’ll only be in town for tonight, so this was the only day we can do it.

” He scanned the people along the bar. “If you’re not sure, we’ll go.

” The Hunter quieted for a second before coming impossibly close.

“They’re in hiding, so it may be your only chance to know what happened. ”

“In hiding?”

“Not here.” Throwing his arm around my shoulders, Phillip dragged me close to his side and dipped his head enough to reach my ear. “There are rooms in the back for this sort of thing.”

Heart in my throat, I nodded. “Okay. Take me to them.”
