Another day, another cleaning.

The started off as any other. It has been three days since Solana and I started went out. We see each other whenever I'd get lunch or any little break. I'd normally find her on the field training.

I recently found out that she's the one who majorly trains the best warriors. That day, she just wasn't there but I've seen her and Athena in action.

Athena joins in on the training as a sparring partner for Solana and to see the improvement of the trainees.

I pushed open the throne room door with a smile on my face. These days when I wake up, I've been feeling so happy and I love that for me.

I hummed as I placed the bucket down.

My eyes looked up and my heart leaped out of my chest.

Oh, God.

This is the worse it has ever been.

I can't—

It's too much.

Heads, limbs, organs, all over the ground and on the thrones. I stumbled back as I took in the horrific site in front of me. It wasn't what I was seeing but the presentation of them.

The eyes on the heads were open, some rolled back. The opened ones seemingly stared at me and from the limbs oozed blood. There were feet, hands, fingers biceps and limbless bodies.

What the hell happened here?

Is this her torture room?

She's so inconsiderate for doing this and then having someone clean all of this up for her, a human at that. A vampire can manage it because a) one did this and b) they love blood.

She just makes me so upset.

Ugh.

I wanted to leave but I couldn't. It's like my feet were planted in the ground and I hated that.

I was passing the throne room and I knew that it was the time for Lauren to be cleaning. I decided to stop and check on her.

Before opening the doors, I heard whimpering and my eyebrows furrowed.

Is that—

I opened the golden doors and I saw Lauren covering her eyes and shaking her head, muttering a few words that I couldn't pick up. I touched her shoulder and she jumped away from the contact but then looked at me and relaxed slightly.

My eyes took in the surroundings and I frowned.

What the fuck, Athena?

I took Lauren from the throne room and she hugged me as she cried in my embrace.

"I-"

"Shh," I shushed her and closed the doors.

I lifted her bridal style and sped off to the kitchen where I knew her friend would be. She's the only person I see her talk to on the regular so I knew they were close.

The friend looked at us as I arrived and her eyes widened.

"Hold her while I handle something." I told her and she looked at the meal she was preparing and back at me. "I'll have it dealt with. You have the rest of day off and so does Lauren."

Her friend came and took her from my arms and I looked at Lauren.

She didn't deserve this.

I went to the main kitchen and ordered someone to finish the meal that was being prepared in the second kitchen. Afterwards, I went to Athena's office.

She looked up at me as I entered and I sped towards her and pushed her. She stumbled back and looked at me with furrowed brows.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I snapped. "What's that you leave in the throne room for her to clean up? She's your personal server not your fucking cleaner, Athena. Do fucking better."

Athena clenched her jaw as she stared at me.

"If you have a problem then help her clean it and get the fuck out of my office."

I growled and sped towards her and delivered a punch on her cheek. I knew where this behavior was coming from. Athena grabbed my other fist before it could hit her and pushed me back with her strength.

"If you want her then man the fuck up, Athena."

Athena squinted her eyes at me.

"Excuse me?"

I scoffed.

"You're jealous, that's the issue and you want her to suffer. I know somewhere deep down you want her and you're just blinded by power." I hissed at her. Her eyes changed colors and I rolled my eyes. "You're a pussy. I'm not going to claim her but someone else is willing to, Athena."

Athena clenched her fists.

"Get out." She gritted her teeth.

"Get out." I mocked and laughed whilst shaking my head. "Poor you. You're missing out. Fix your shit if you want to get her to be yours before you complete push Lauren away."

Her fists unclenched slightly and I looked at her in disappointment.

She's always been about power and she believes having people close to her is a distraction. We were close but often times I'd let her do whatever she wants but not this time. She needs to know the gem she has in front of her, the gem she was blessed with.

There was something special about Lauren and I couldn't put my finger on it but I knew she was going to have a good impact.

"This act of yours isn't cute." I told Athena. "Drop it."

With that, I left her office and down to the kitchen where I saw Lauren's friend and her talking. I didn't listen in on their conversation.

I excused Lauren and she came over to where I stood.

"I'm leaving."

"What? Leaving to where?" Lauren asked confused.

"I'm going home, doll. I have pets to take care off and other things to keep updated." Lauren frowned at this information and it pained my heart.

"I'll be back soon." I told her. "By the time I'm back, you should be with Athena." I teased her and her eyes widened.

"Oh, that's not going to happen." Lauren denied.

"Fate has its ways, Lauren." I told her and cupped her cheek. "One last kiss?"

Lauren pouted but nodded nonetheless. We kissed and I pulled back and smiled at her.

"So does this mean there's no more... us?" Lauren asked and I nodded.

"Yeah."

"I liked us." I smiled at that.

"I did, too, but that's not my place and you're not mine." I told her. "If the situation was switched, I wouldn't want my sister to be playing around with my mate."

"Yeah, because you have sense."

I laughed.

"True."

Lauren smiled and she hugged me, taking me by surprise.

"I'll miss you."

"I'll be back before you know it."
