Athena and I left the space after I bid goodbye to London. London smirked at me and I secretly flipped her off. Athena escorted us outside and those close by looked at her hand that was around my waist and I tried not to make eye contact with them.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" She asked as we walked towards... a garden? I didn't know this was here.
Flowers of different species bloomed in the garden. They looked healthy, no weeds in sight and they were recently watered. From what I could tell, there were roses, sunflowers, lilies and others. I don't know a lot of flowers but she has variety.
I nodded in agreement.
"I didn't know this was here." I said and Athena had a scissors in her hand, green magic glistening around it before it disappeared.
Woah.
She cut a rose and handed it to me. I smiled at the gesture and smelled the rose.
I hummed in satisfaction.
"It's mine. I don't let anyone attend to it." Athena responded.
I looked up at her as I picked the thorns off the rose stem.
"I don't see you as a flower person." Athena laughed at what I said.
"What kind of person do you think I am?"
WELL ATHENA—
I ignored her question and we kept walking through the neverending garden. I was still amazed at the beauty of the garden.
Athena stopped walking and I turned to look at her in question.
"I'm waiting for your answer, Lauren." Her red eyes stared in mine and I tried to fight the smile off of my lips.
"Well," I drawled out. "You're nice."
HMM—
Athena raised one of her eyebrows and I whined.
"I'm not telling you."
"And why not?"
"Because it's bad things."
"You think I'm a bad person?" Her eyebrows shot up in amusement.
"I have my reasons."
I looked down at the red rose in my hand and twirled it between my fingers.
"Tr—"
Athena stopped mid sentence and threw her head back whilst groaning.
"What?"
She walked away from me and went behind one of the tall flowers and bend down and picked something up.
I awed and clasped my hands together.
Athena held a white rabbit by its scuff as it chewed on green leaves. She growled and I walked over to where she stood with the rabbit. The rabbit's brown eyes looked at me as I neared it and Athena.
Aww she's tamed.
We're gonna assume it's a girl.
"Is it yours?" I asked her as I adored the bunny.
"Mine?" She chuckled. "No. It's a wild rabbit that took liking my garden and I've been kicking it out everytime I come down here."
"Why?" I asked in surprise. "it's so adorable."
"It's deadly." Athena deadpanned and I stuck my finger out and rubbed the bunny's nose and it twitched.
My heart!
"How can this cute thing be deadly?" I gushed over the rabbit and stroked it's ear.
Athena opened its mouth forcefully and showed me it's teeth.
"You're hurting it. Athena!" I smacked her hand away and the rabbit wiggled in her hand. I took it from Athena and held it carefully and it snuggled against my shirt.
Oh my god.
"No." Athena said as she looked at me.
"No?"
"I know what you're going to ask and my answer is no."
"Please?" I begged her. "I'll cater for it. I won't ask you for anything. I'll look after it, you won't even see it in your garden anymore."
I tried to give her puppy eyes and Athena narrowed her eyes at me.
"N—"
"Please, Athena?" I stressed. I held the bunny up to her face. "How can you say no to this?"
Athena sighed.
"Fine."
I pulled the bunny back to my chest and squealed.
"Thank you!" I gave her a hug from the side and she hummed disapprovingly.
"But—"
"No buts." I held my finger up.
"Lauren." I looked at the rabbit, holding it up as I looked in its fur to see the gender.
"It's a boy." I announced. "We can name him..." I trailed off in thought. "Joseph? Or that's too long for a rabbit? Seba. It can be short for Sebastian. Yes. His name is Se—"
"Lauren."
I turned to a grumpy Athena and she folded her arms.
My eyes fell to her breasts that pushed up due to the action and then back to her eyes.
"We take it to the vet at 1. I can't have a wild animal with flees and all sorts of shit living with me."
"Okay!"
"For now, put it down. You don't know what it has."
"But—"
"I'm not asking you."
Oh, your tone made it clear.
I pouted but placed the bunny down nonetheless. In front of the bunny appeared three carrots and it started to chew on them immediately. Athena looked at her watch and then back at me.
"It's 10:29 so we have time to spare." She told me and I nodded.
"What are we going to do with that time?"
Athena looked at me in thought and her eyes trailed over my figure. My eyebrows raised so high I was afraid they touched my hairline.
"Hello?" I snapped my fingers in front of her eyes and her red eyes met mine. "What's that," I motioned to her eyes, "supposed to mean?"
Athena chuckled and she pulled me into her body.
"Don't worry about that." Her tongue darted out and wet her lips.
I will le—
"Can you still read my mind?" Before I finish that thought.
Athena hummed as she stared down at me. I placed my hand in her chest – her breasts – and I saw her eyes flash a dark purple. They stayed purple for a while and Athena blinked and her eyes went back to red.
"Your eyes change color." I started. "What does it mean when it changes to purple?"
She smiled.
"Happiness."
"Why do I feel like you're lying to me?"
Athena clicked her tongue against her teeth and looked away from me for a split second.
I waited for her to tell me what it actually means. I have an idea but I don't want to voice it and then I am wrong and then I am embarrassed.
Hell no.
Cues the sing-song voice.
"You'll figure it out." Athena bopped my nose and she took the rose from my finger and dropped it on the ground. She crushed it and I pouted.
"Why'd you do that?"
"These aren't the roses you want to have in your hands for long." She told me. "The flowers are magical. They're not just there for decoration."
I sighed loudly.
"You need to start telling me stuff and stop dropping bombs on me. Next thing you're going to be telling me is that you can always read my mind whether or not I have your blood in my body."
"Smart girl."
She smirked and my eyes widened.
SOMEBODY HELP ME.
