I'm driving my car with my pregnant wife beside me.
We're happy—our Ellie will be born soon.
We're heading to dinner at my friend Mattia's new restaurant.

Today is a big day—he's opening the first of many branches, and of course I couldn't miss it, right? Even though it's snowing heavily and the roads are dangerous, I'm driving carefully.
“Love, with our daughter coming so soon, don't you think we could stay at our apartment, closer to the hospital?”
“There are still two months left, Luma. We have plenty of time. You've already taken care of decorating the rooms, so when the doctor says it's almost time, we'll move.”

I caress her belly and our girl moves, kicking right where my hand is.
Today, I can honestly say I'm a happy and fulfilled man.
I worked hard to get a good position, and I'll be an even better judge.
I have the woman I've always dreamed of, who supports me in everything.
And now, to top it all off, here comes our Ellie, our little princess.
I look at my wife and we exchange smiles.
In that moment, I feel a collision, and our car spins on the snow-covered road.
I didn't see what happened, but all I could think about was my wife, almost seven months pregnant, right there beside me.
I grabbed her hand and threw my body over hers, but it was too late—we were thrown forcefully into a tree.
