Chapter 49 — Shadows on the Water

Isabella’s POV

The cabin door sealed behind us with a final, decisive click, locking out the night, the bodyguards, the lingering ghost of Roman’s smile. Moonlight poured through the massive glass walls, silvering the dark water beyond, but inside it was all heat—thick, humid, electric.

Alexander didn’t speak. He didn’t need to. The second his eyes met mine, the air between us ignited.

His hands were on me before I could draw breath—rough, impatient, reverent all at once.

Fingers curled into the neckline of my dress and yanked downward in one vicious tug.

Fabric tore at the seams with a soft, obscene rip; cool air hit my overheated skin as the dress fell away like shed skin, leaving me in nothing but black lace bra, matching thong, and the rapid rise and fall of my chest.

“Alexander—” My voice cracked, half protest, half plea. “Who the hell was Roman? He looked at me like—”

“He’s nobody,” he snarled, voice gravel and smoke. His mouth slammed over mine, swallowing the rest of my question, devouring me with bruising kisses that tasted like whiskey, fury, and raw need. “Forget him. Forget everything but this.”

I shoved at his chest, desperate for answers even as my body arched toward him. “He doesn’t look like nobody. The way he said your name, the way he—”

Alexander’s answer was to spin me around and slam my palms flat against the glass.

The cold pane shocked my overheated skin; outside, the marina lights shimmered like scattered diamonds, distant and indifferent.

Anyone on the dock could see our silhouettes if they looked up—shadows fucking against moonlight—and the thought sent a dark, filthy thrill straight to my core.

He pressed in behind me, hard length grinding against my ass through his trousers, letting me feel exactly how much restraint he was losing.

One hand fisted my hair, yanking my head back so my throat arched; the other ripped the clasp of my bra open with a single, brutal snap.

Lace fluttered to the floor. My breasts spilled free, nipples already painfully tight, begging.

“Look at yourself,” he growled against my ear, breath scorching. “Look how fucking perfect you are when you’re mine.”

I caught our reflection in the glass—my flushed cheeks, swollen lips, wild eyes; his dark head bent over my shoulder, jaw clenched, pupils blown black with hunger.

His free hand slid down, palming one breast roughly, rolling the nipple between calloused fingers until I whimpered.

Then lower—fingers hooking into the thin straps of my thong and dragging them aside, exposing me completely.

He didn’t tease. Two thick fingers plunged straight into my soaked heat without warning, curling deep, stroking that swollen spot inside me that made my knees buckle. I cried out, loud and shameless, hips jerking back onto his hand.

“So fucking wet already,” he rasped, voice wrecked. “You’re dripping down my wrist, baby. You feel that? That’s what happens when you try to fight me and lose.”

I clawed at the glass, leaving sweaty streaks. “We’re not done talking—”

He withdrew his fingers only to replace them with the blunt head of his cock—hot, thick, leaking. He didn’t ease in. He slammed home in one ruthless thrust, burying every brutal inch until his hips slapped against my ass and I screamed his name.

The stretch burned, delicious and overwhelming; my walls fluttered and clenched around him like they were trying to pull him deeper.

He didn’t give me time to adjust. He fucked me hard—fast, punishing strokes that rocked my entire body against the glass, breasts flattening, nipples scraping cold surface with every drive.

“Fuck—yes—” I gasped, voice breaking on every thrust. Sweat slicked my skin; the cabin smelled of sex and salt and him. His hand slid around to find my clit, rubbing tight, merciless circles while he pounded into me from behind, balls slapping wetly against me with every brutal plunge.

“You think anyone else gets to look at you like that?” he snarled, teeth sinking into the slope of my shoulder hard enough to bruise. “You think I’d let him breathe the same air as you if he wasn’t already a dead man walking?”

The possessive violence in his voice should have terrified me. Instead it sent me spiraling higher. I pushed back to meet every savage thrust, chasing the edge, moaning brokenly.

“Harder,” I begged, shameless. “Fuck me like you mean it.”

He roared—a primal, guttural sound—and hauled my hips back, changing the angle so the thick ridge of him dragged over that perfect spot on every brutal withdrawal and re-entry. His fingers pinched my clit, rolled it, slapped it lightly—sharp bursts of pleasure-pain that made me sob.

“Come for me,” he commanded, voice shredded. “Come all over my cock while I fill you up. Let the whole fucking marina hear who owns this pussy.”

I shattered.

The orgasm ripped through me like lightning—white-hot, blinding, my vision fracturing as my walls clamped down so hard he cursed. I screamed his name until my throat went raw, thighs shaking, slick gushing down my legs as he fucked me through every pulsing wave.

He didn’t stop.

He kept driving into my oversensitive cunt, chasing his own release with feral intensity—hips snapping, breath ragged against my neck. “Fuck—Isabella—gonna come so deep inside you—”

One last punishing thrust and he buried himself to the hilt, cock pulsing, thickening as he came with a broken groan.

Heat flooded me in heavy spurts, so much it leaked out around him, dripping down my thighs in obscene rivulets.

He ground against me, milking every last shudder, marking me from the inside out.

We stayed locked together for long seconds—panting, trembling, sweat-slick and wrecked. His forehead dropped to my shoulder; his arms banded around me like he was afraid I’d vanish.

Eventually he eased out, slow and careful now, and turned me in his arms. His mouth found mine again—this time softer, slower, almost reverent. But when he pulled back, his eyes were still dark with something dangerous.

“Roman,” I whispered, voice hoarse. “You’re going to tell me who he really is.”

Alexander’s jaw ticked. He brushed damp hair from my face, thumb tracing my swollen bottom lip.

“Soon,” he promised quietly. “But not tonight.”

He lifted me against his chest, carrying me toward the bedroom like I weighed nothing.

“Because tonight,” he murmured against my temple, “I’m not finished reminding you who you belong to.”

The glass wall still bore the smeared prints of my palms—silent evidence of how thoroughly he’d claimed me.

And deep down, beneath the lingering pleasure and the ache between my thighs, I knew:

Whatever storm Roman had brought with him…

It was only just beginning.
