4. Chapter 4
Chapter four
Her hands were tangled in Amelie’s hair, long nails gently scratching her scalp as she adjusted her grip.
“Oh, my god.” Amelie whimpered, feeling the pressure of Regina’s body on her own. The bedsheets moved across her naked skin as she writhed under the gaze of the Divination Witch.
“So wet.” Regina cooed, kissing down Amelie’s body, taking the time to stop and appreciate each breast on her way down.
Her hands trailed after her lips, and as she dropped lower and lower, Amelie couldn’t tell where the other woman’s touch ended and where it began.
When she felt Regina’s breath between her thighs, she couldn’t stop her back from arching, willing Regina to touch her where she so desperately needed.
“So pretty,” Regina murmured as she placed a trail of kisses across Amelie’s inner thighs. The blonde’s chest heaved as her hips started rocking back and forth without her consent, desperate for any sort of pressure. “Do you want me to kiss you, Amelie?”
Amelie’s breath came in quick puffs as she nodded, her voice caught in her throat.
“Come on, beautiful. Use your words.” Regina teased, a single finger tracing its way up Amelie’s center, between her lips without pressing inside.
“Fuck” Amelie swore, trying desperately to press her hips into the other woman’s touch. “Please fuck me… Regina… I need… kiss me, fuck me, ruin me…”
“That’s better.” Amelie screwed her eyes shut at Regina’s words, anticipating her touch. But when she opened her eyes once again, she was back in her room, alone.
“Holy shit.” Amelie rubbed the sleep from her eyes, but as she moved under the sheets, the feeling of her thighs rubbing together pulled a whimper from her lips.
Fuck… it might have been a dream, but Amelie was still so incredibly wet.
She could feel the pulse of her heart in her core as she continued writhing against the sheets.
Without another thought, Amelie pulled her underwear off, tossing them to the side and lined her two middle fingers up against her entrance.
Biting her lip, Amelie muffled a moan as she fingered herself.
She was so wet that her digits just slid right inside, her palm pressed up against her clit with each thrust of her wrist. She was so absolutely keyed up from her dream that it only took a dedicated few minutes for her to feel herself clench around her fingers as she fell over the edge.
Taking a deep breath, Amelie pulled her fingers out and stared up at the ceiling of her room.
She hadn’t even been here for 48 hours and was already so completely fucked.
Turning her head to the window leading out into the gardens, Amelie took in the morning light trickling through the stained glass, her blonde waves resting on the pillow just in her peripherals.
Throwing back the covers and placing her feet on the ground, Amelie stood, her satin pajamas wrinkled from her night’s sleep.
She’d never been one to sleep in, which she supposed was a good thing, considering how she was now responsible for the nutrition of three other people, but on days like this, when she was just so tired from the transition, she wished she could sleep in more.
Delia had not shown up for dinner last night.
Which, though expected, was still disappointing.
She, Hestia, and Regina had a lovely meal just the three of them, consisting of stew, homemade bread, and salad, but even long after Amelie had finished doing the dishes and putting them away, Delia still hadn’t made an appearance.
Determined to feed her ward, but unwilling to intrude upon her space for a second time that day, Amelie had fixed the witch a plate and cast a preservation spell to keep it nice and warm for her.
Then she sat it on the counter and wandered off to her bedroom for the night.
In true magical fashion, her luggage had already unpacked itself by the time she’d arrived later that night, so all she had to do was take a bath and change into her pajamas. Then, the second her head hit the pillow, she was out like a light.
Pulling out a pink, ruffled sundress that was now hanging in her wardrobe, Amelie tossed her pajamas into a hamper and got to work preparing herself for the day.
Her blonde waves never did exactly what she wanted them to do, but also somehow managed to fall in a way that they never really tangled or looked unkempt, so as a result, Amelie just left them alone.
After she’d washed her face and brushed her teeth, Amelie scooped Truffle up from where he was curled up in his bed next to the window and made her way to the kitchen. Truffle scurried up her arm and settled on her shoulders, draping his head on one shoulder and his hind legs on the other.
When Amelie entered the kitchen, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of disappointment wash over her as she took note of the untouched plate still sitting on the counter, spell undisturbed.
However, determined not to allow Delia’s indifference to taint her morning, Amelie instead scooped the remaining stew back into her enchanted pot and began munching on the bread as she got to work on breakfast.
Amelie truly did love cooking; it calmed her as her magic hummed through her veins in an almost meditative state.
Though she primarily used her abilities to multitask and enchant tools that she could use, such as her perpetual stew pot.
Her brother was much better at using his kitchen witch magic to alter the food itself, helping withpastries that increased confidence, created temporary auras, and that sort of thing.
Amelie knew the culinary associations that most magical plants carried and could use them accordingly; however, her brother was much more talented at bringing out the natural properties of each ingredient, coaxing them to do more.
So instead of focusing on which spells she could use to potentially increase the magical flow of each individual witch, Amelie prepared breakfast in the best way she knew how.
Instead of creating magical products, Amelie focused on creating a magical atmosphere, one where every move she made was full of intention, magical aura practically dripping from her fingers.
As she moved, she created a symphony of sounds, smells, and tastes in the kitchen that perfectly embodied home for her.
As she moved around the space, every move perfectly flowed into the next, like a dance.
As the coffee and tea brewed, Amelie mixed the batter for the scones; as the scones baked, Amelie spun around to the open-flame stove to make eggs; then, once the scones came out, she iced them like her brother had taught her back at the bakery.
“Amelie! This smells incredible!”
Just as Amelie finished plating the pieces of the meal, Hestia’s voice rang out from the entrance to the kitchen.
Like her aura, her voice was warm and inviting; today she wore a dark skirt with a sort of wrap top that, quite honestly, probably could have been a scarf in a previous life, but like her outfit from the day before, Hestia pulled it off.
As she padded into the kitchen, Amelie noted that once again, the Illusion Witch wasn’t wearing any shoes.
“I am so glad you think so!” Amelie grinned from ear to ear, automatically reaching for the tea before pausing and turning her attention back to Hestia. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t even ask. Tea or coffee?”
Hestia’s grin was contagious as she practically skipped over to the counter and sat down. “Tea, please. I’ve never been a huge fan of coffee.”
Amelie hummed at the instinct as she picked up the teapot once again, pouring Hestia a cup. “It’s apple and cinnamon. I don’t know why exactly I chose this mixture this morning, but I figured that the connection apples have to the divine feminine would never be a poor choice in this house.”
Hestia laughed, picked up her cup, and inhaled deeply, taking in the scent. “It’s perfect. I use a lot of cinnamon in my spellwork, so this is actually the perfect tea for me this morning.”
Amelie smiled as Hestia dove in, eyes practically rolling into the back of her head as she took a bite of the scone.
“What a face.” Regina hummed as she entered the kitchen, watching Hestia with amusement.
“Oh god. Regina.” Hestia turned, her mouth full of pastry. “You have to try these scones. They’re to die for.”
Regina, wearing a similar black dress to the day before, made her way over to the kitchen counter, her heels clacking on the tile floor.
“I bet.” Regina grinned, flashing a wink at Amelie before placing a hand on Hestia’s head and tilting it over so she could kiss the other witch’s hair.
Amelie’s brows went up at the obvious sign of affection, but Hestia seemed wholly unbothered, as she licked her fingers, getting every last trace of icing.
Though, as Amelie watched, she noticed something that she hadn’t noticed yesterday upon meeting the redhead, and immediately felt her face go flush.
The nails on Hestia’s right middle and ring fingers were considerably shorter than the rest, and not in a way that made it seem like they’d broken, but rather that they’d been manicured that way. The ends were rounded into an almond shape just like the rest of them and painted black, just shorter.
Eyes widening, Amelie almost missed Regina coming around the corner as she said something that the blonde didn’t quite catch.
“Sorry, what was that?” Amelie’s gaze snapped up to Regina, immediately flustered at how close she’d gotten. But just as she had the night before, despite Hestia’s presence, Regina didn’t seem to mind their closeness at all; it even seemed as though she was instigating it on purpose.
“I asked if you’d eaten yet.” The smirk on Regina’s face only confirmed what Amelie had been thinking moments before. She was doing this on purpose.
“I- uh…” Amelie stuttered, looking back and forth between Hestia and Regina as she struggled to find the words.
“I told you, you were being too forward, Reg.” Hestia smiled, resting her cheek on her hand. “I think you broke her.”
Amelie’s eyes widened again at the statement from the Illusion Witch as she looked back to Regina, searching for any sort of embarrassment or denial of Hestia’s statement. However, as she looked deeper into the other woman’s blank eyes, the only thing she saw was curiosity.
It was at that moment that all the things Amelie had seen this morning fell into place. The kiss, the nails, the ease with which the pair moved around each other…
“Are you two… together?” Amelie flitted her pointer finger between the two witches as the full picture started forming.
Hestia brought her teacup to her lips and took another sip of her apple,-cinnamon tea before wrapping her hands around the warm ceramic and tilting her head at Amelie with a smile.
“You could say that, yes.”
Amelie blinked several times in confusion as she processed Hestia’s answer, then how close Regina was, Hestia’s earlier statement to Regina, and then how unbothered the redhead looked as she sipped her tea.
“I’m… confused.” Amelie got out as she looked back and forth between the two witches.
“I can imagine.” Regina nodded, a smile still playing at her lips. “Though, I must admit you picked up on everything much more quickly than I’d anticipated.”
Taking a couple of steps back, Regina reached into her pocket and pulled out a twenty-dollar bill, sliding it across the table to Hestia, who took it with glee, placing it somewhere in the depths of her cleavage.
“What…” Amelie’s brow furrowed as she watched the exchange. “Are you two messing with me?”
“No. Of course not.” Regina leaned onto the kitchen counter, eyes never leaving Amelie. “We just made a bet to see how long it would take you to realize that Hestia and I were sleeping together. My flirtations with you were nothing less than genuine.”
“See, Regina here thought that it would take you a little longer, but we aren’t very subtle about it, and I knew you’d be smarter than that.”
Amelie’s mouth dropped open as she watched Regina nod and make her way over to the seat that the blonde had set out for her.
“Is this coffee?” Regina peered at the second pot that was sitting in front of the butter Amelie had laid out.
It was all Amelie could do to nod in response as Regina made a happy noise of approval, pouring herself a cup.
“I never understood how you liked that bean water.” Hestia made a face as she sipped her tea again. “Though I have grown more accustomed to the flavor since you taste like it so often.”
Regina laughed and took a sip of her black coffee, her fingers wrapping delicately around the cup. “One of these days I will convert you; I just have to Pavlov you to associate the taste of coffee with the sensation of kissing me.”
Hestia wrinkled her nose and took a bite of egg. “That’s why you’re going to brush your teeth when we are done here, before you get anywhere near me.”
Amelie steadied herself and shook her head, her brain finally supplying words.
“So, you’re not messing with me, but you are together.” Amelie poured herself a cup of tea, mixing in a couple spoonfuls of sugar. “How does that work exactly?”
Hestia finished her eggs and sat back in her seat, picking up her teacup again. “Exactly that. We aren’t monogamous, so if Regina wants to flirt with you… or if I do…” Hestia winked in Amelie’s direction. “It’s perfectly fine.”
“Oh,” Amelie replied smartly. She’d never really dated much outside of a few first dates here and there, but she’d always just sort of assumed that, like most people, she would find someone, settle down, get married, and live happily ever after.
“Let me know if you ever want to talk about any of it.” Hestia got up, a smile playing at her lips. “But I have to go reinforce the border illusion, so if you need me, I’ll be in my room.”
Regina moved forward, but Hestia caught the other witch by the cheeks. “Uh-uh. Not before you’ve brushed your teeth, coffee witch.”
Regina’s tinkling laughter floated through the air like bells as Hestia let go, blew the taller of the two a kiss, and then took off back toward the hallway, disappearing through the doorway.
Amelie watched Regina as she settled back down into her seat and turned her attention back to the blonde. When she reached for the coffee pot to pour herself another cup, Regina tilted her head.
“So.” Regina began. “Any thoughts on what we’ve just told you?”
Amelie hummed, drumming her fingers rhythmically on the marble countertop. She kept waiting to feel disappointed, led on, or maybe frustrated at the situation, but no matter how long she waited, none of those feelings came.
“Well…” Amelie measured her response. “I’d like to continue getting to know both of you, whether or not anything will come out of any of that remains to be seen, but I’m willing to continue on as we have been so far.”
Regina’s grin returned as she took another sip of her coffee. “Good.”
