Chapter 24 – Alana #3

“Okay. But be careful what you wish for…” He kisses the top of my head and begins.

He tells me everything that has been going on for the past few weeks.

About the clash with the Ortega family, Blake Fielding’s cousin Calvin, his concerns about Fielding’s death and who was responsible for it.

He shares his theories about who attacked his father and hints at what he plans to do to them.

He tells me everything, and some of it is not pretty.

But I meant what I said. I am not a child, and I am under no illusions that my husband is actually an ordinary businessman.

He might wear the suits and have the fancy office, but there is nothing ordinary about him.

I said I wanted to know it all, and now I do.

When he’s finished, he tilts my chin up so he can look at my face, searching for my reaction. I hate the flicker of uncertainty I catch on his handsome features.

“Thank you for trusting me,” I say with a reassuring smile.

“It was never about me not trusting you, princesa. And it feels good to share everything with you, knowing that you can still share a bed with me.”

I pull his head in for a kiss, and when I finally let him go, I hope he gets the message. “I love you, Alejandro. I love all of you. Please, don’t keep secrets from me anymore.”

He nods and looks relieved. “I won’t. I thought I was doing the right thing.

I thought keeping you out of it all would keep you safe.

But you’re right, how can you protect yourself if you don’t know what to look out for?

The whole world knows you’re my wife, and that puts you at risk no matter how much you know about my business dealings.

It was foolish of me to imagine otherwise.

And now, with my father, I see that even with the best security in the world, people can be vulnerable… ”

He shivers, holds me tighter. “If it ever happens, Alana, if you are ever taken from me…then know that I will find you. I will be moving heaven and earth to reach you, and you must do anything you can to stay alive until I do.”

I shudder involuntarily. I asked to know more, and I don’t regret it. But after what happened to Mateo, and now hearing him talk like this? It all feels much more real, much more dangerous. This is his world, not mine.

“What else should I do?” I ask him, curling my body close to his. “I mean, I hope that never happens, but if it does?”

“You should listen to everything,” he says.

“Always, always listen. People usually aren’t as smart as they think, and they will let something slip out that will be useful to you, especially if they see you as weak or don’t think you’re paying attention.

Pretend you are not a threat. Let them talk.

Listen, learn everything you can about your attacker or kidnapper, and keep it until you need to use it.

You’re an intelligent woman, and that will help. ”

“Okay,” I breathe. “That’s good.”

Suddenly, he’s rolling on top of me and brushing my hair back from my face. “Have I frightened you?”

“A little,” I admit. “This isn’t the most romantic bedtime conversation. But it’s all right. I wanted to know. I needed to know. I don’t want to be the person who makes you vulnerable.”

“You are also the person who makes me strong, mi reina. Tomorrow, I’ll have Hugo teach you the most effective ways to cause someone pain and some escape techniques.”

“Why can’t you teach me instead?”

He narrows his eyes at me, and I feel his cock twitching against my stomach. “I’m pretty sure that anything involving me restraining you, or generally putting my hands on you, is only going to end one way.”

“Oh? And what way would that be?” I purr, rubbing myself up against him. I know, but I want to hear him say it. I want to hear the filthy words come out of his sinful mouth.

“You dripping wet and my cock buried inside you,” he growls. “Me, fucking you until you scream.”

I gulp. Yeah. That’s probably exactly how it’d go down. “That doesn’t sound too terrible.”

“I agree, but it also wouldn’t be very useful. Besides, Hugo is an expert in these tactics after his time in the Navy SEALs.”

“Okay. Maybe Kelsey and Lucia could join us? Sounds like it could be useful stuff for any woman to know,” I suggest, thinking that having both of them involved will make it feel less like preparation for a potential kidnapping and more like one of the self-defense classes I took in college.

“I think that’s a great idea. Then I won’t have to have to think about you and Hugo alone together wrestling in my gym.” He arches an eyebrow at me, and I poke him in the chest.

“You’re kind of possessive, do you know that?”

“Yes, I do. And you love it. You’re all mine, Alana,” he growls, pressing his hips into me so I can feel every inch of him.

“I know,” I groan as I raise myself to meet him. “Just like you’re all mine.”

“Fuck, yeah, I am,” he breathes as he shifts so his rock-hard cock is hovering above me. “And you can have every last inch of me, princesa.”
