Chapter 23

CHAPTER

TWENTY-THREE

HIM

Watching them have sex without being able to touch them makes me feel insane.

A feral need that I can’t control consumes me.

Not jealousy, but a visceral need to be there with them.

The voice to control their every move. Directing them.

Telling them what to do. Licking the sweat off their bodies as Aiden slams her against the wall.

Fucking Aiden into her. Being in charge of their orgasms.

Despite the lack of sound on the video, I can almost hear the echoes of their moans radiating throughout the morgue.

Hooking his arms beneath her legs, he lifts her from the chair and braces her against the wall, leaving her helpless to do anything but submit to him.

Christ, I am going to have blue balls until I get myself off.

Good thing I have the footage saved to revisit later.

Their first time together left me wild. The gravestone still has our combined cum stains all over it. No way was I cleaning that off if it was the only way the three of us could be together.

This time, however, is manic. Like they can’t punish each other enough for their lust. Grief finally taking a back seat to their loathing.

Their hatred for each other made my cock hard, but this?

This makes me burn.

Switching screens, I glance at the program running through possible suspects.

It’s almost useless given the fact that it could be anyone.

Everyone holds a grudge against the family.

Jealousy eats away at people who covet my power; the power of greed a heavy motivator, too.

It could eat someone alive if they let it.

Even a simple revenge plot, hoping to destroy The Order.

There are too many enemies and not enough evidence.

Frustration is starting to build within me at the lack of answers and the amount of time passing. Yes, I am enjoying watching my prey play together. But I want to be with them. And the longing for them is making me…I wouldn’t say anxious, but untethered, given my lack of control.

Lines of code fill the screen, and I get the feeling that the answer is right in front of me, hidden beneath the numbers.

Shade has been working their way through the data as well, under the assumption that it’s to find the murderer.

They don’t know the real story. The only person with that privilege is Ashton, and only because I needed what he has access to.

He also had to make it believable to my family, to The Order, to them.

The lack of surveillance evidence from the night of the murder already sends up red flags about this entire situation.

Video footage had clearly been altered, with time overlays and grainy footage at best. With the original data deleted, I had to go back even further.

Looking to see if anyone was watching the arena that night or had staked it out prior.

Whoever had their hands in this would find themselves without them very soon.

That would be the first thing I’d have Aiden take.

I wouldn’t want to do it myself. Save it for my prey to play with.

I feel his presence before he steps up beside me. Watching the screen, he clicks a few buttons and hums to himself. “Find anything yet?”

“No.” There’s no need to elaborate when the answer is always the same. Not one lead to determine what the hell happened.

“The money didn’t tell you anything?” Ashton asks as he pulls up some graphs on another screen. I tried following the money from the car rental, but all that came up was some offshore filings.

“No, but I have Shade on it.” Speaking of, I should probably have Ashton follow up with them.

It has been a few weeks since our last check-in, and if they didn’t find anything this time, I might have to have Ashton hunt them down and stab them.

What the fuck was the purpose of employing the best hacker money could find if the asshole couldn’t find anything?

Supposedly, whoever hid what he needed was just as good as them.

Well, clearly, I needed that motherfucker instead.

“I might throw them in an acid bath if they don’t give me something soon. ”

He clicks his tongue. “Getting impatient, are we?”

“No.”

Liar.

He arches his eyebrow in a knowing expression.

Switching back to my muses, I watch as Aiden removes the gun from the back of his shorts, turns, and shoots the man in the middle of the room.

Well, fuck me up. Ari looks shocked, but before she can say anything, Aiden is once again pounding her into the wall, making my cock an iron rod in my pants.

As he slams into her one last time and releases into her, the excess cum drips onto the floor beneath their panting bodies. He leans forward and says something in her ear. And then he kisses her. Not some hard kiss. Soft and gentle. My eyes widen as I watch this. Hmmm…

It’s such an intimate moment between them. And the first time that I have felt my gut clench when I watch them.

“They seem to be getting along just fine without you,” Ashton muses. “Are you sure this is what you should be doing?”

“Do not question me.”

Clearly exasperated with my ever-increasing bad mood, he walks out. Leaving me alone to watch as Aiden and Ari right themselves and move to leave.

I clench my fists. A better man would probably let them go. Let them grieve and heal. Find some sort of happiness together.

But I’ve never once claimed to be a good man.
