Elias

A week later, I wake up feeling both the lightest and heaviest I’ve felt in a while.

Light, because I didn’t realize Bridget telling me she loves me would fill a hole in my chest I didn’t even know was there to begin with. It was rewarding knowing she feels the same way and the invisible string that tethers us together feels like it’s grown stronger.

I hadn’t expected to tell her how I felt so early on, but as soon as the words were out of my mouth, I knew it was right. As much as it hurt not hearing her say it back, I knew not to push and let her come to that realization in her own time.

Everything about her is radiant—her personality, her eyes, her smile—and I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my lifetime soaking in her brilliance.

On the other hand, I feel heavy because hearing her say this wasn’t how she envisioned this life for herself stirred something deep inside me, and I’m not sure if I want to dig into that right now. It wasn’t something I expected her to say, and I hate how it made me realize how right she was.

I doubt this is something either one of us had thought about when it came to getting married, but it seems like it’s something we’ve settled into and I don’t like how aware it now makes me feel.

I’m happy sitting on my little cloud, floating in the air, and not having to worry about the real world, but I’m starting to realize it was a little naive for me to think that way.

Bridget shifts next to me and lets out a quiet moan, her body arching as she stretches her arms over her head.

The covers dip, and more of her pale skin becomes exposed, and I feel myself growing hard at the sight.

Her blue eyes peek open and a sleepy grin pulls at her lips as she reaches over and pulls me into her chest. Her arms loop lazily over my broad shoulders and my skin prickles as her finger tips dance down my spine.

“Good morning,” I say against her lips, and she hums.

The kiss is slow and lazy, like time is ours and we’ve got a whole lot of it, and I cup her face in my hands as she languidly strokes her tongue against my own.

“Good morning,” she whispers against my mouth. “I love you.”

The words trigger some caveman-like frenzy in me, because my hands move on their own accord, down her body to her hips before I pull her on top of me.

She squeals, and the delighted sound makes my heart beat rapidly in my chest. Her warm body slots perfectly in between my thighs and I watch as she rests her chin on my chest, looking up at me.

Her hair falls over her face and I push back the silky strands, tucking them behind her ear. My eyes hone in on the way her teeth graze over her bottom lip, and I groan, keeping my eyes on her as her cheeks flush as she feels my cock hardening against her stomach.

I don’t miss the wicked gleam that flashes through her eyes.

She pushes herself up to a seated position—directly on top of my cock—and I watch as she begins to rub herself against me.

Her hands press firmly against my pecs and I clasp my fingers around her wrists as she grinds into me.

I watch in awe as her head falls back, her mouth popping open as she begins to move more rapidly.

Not once does my gaze leave her body as she works herself against me, and my eyes drop to the apex of her thighs as she lifts herself slightly and sinks down onto my stiff cock. My grip on her wrists tight as I see where I end and she begins.

I groan, watching as she pushes herself up before slamming back down. A breathy moan passes through her lips in a hiccup as she rotates her hips, burying me deep inside of her. Unable to help myself, my hands move down to grip her hips, but she stops.

“Hmm.” She tilts her head to the side. “Wait here.”

She quickly climbs off, and I swallow at the sight of my swollen cock which is coated in her arousal.

Bridget pulls her robe from the hook on the back of the door and pulls out the tie.

She’s back on the bed and before I can protest, she’s got my hands above my head and is tying them to the bed frame.

“Is this okay?” Bridget asks, and I nod as she moves back down to where I stand proudly and tug at the restraints as she sinks back onto me.

She leans down to kiss me as she takes from me what she needs and I lie there and let her. It’s not long until her hips are moving ferociously against me, and I’m panting at how good she feels, hissing as she digs her finger nails into my stomach.

I look up at the woman on top of me; dewy sweat-soaked skin, flushed and dazed, and my release begins to chase me, nipping at the base of my spine and I’m having a hard time holding it back.

“Elias.” She moans my name like a goddamn prayer, and it has me seeing fucking stars.

The bed frame groans as I pull at the tie, but it’s no use—she’s secured me good. “Hold on to the fucking headboard, Bridget,” I hiss out.

She looks down at me with a feral grin and hair stuck to her face—and I’ve never seen someone so beautiful. She does as she’s told and I waste no time in railing into her from below. She mewls loudly and I feel her clench around me as I buck my hips up into her fast and hard.

“Fuck, baby,” Bridget pants. “You feel so good.”

Baby. Fuck, that’s hot.

I wait until the very last second before I allow myself to fill her. Her body trembles against mine as I thrust messily into her, my eyes clenching shut as I find my release. She lifts herself off me and rolls next to me with a loud huff.

“Soon,” she says. “I’ll get there soon.”

I lean over and press a kiss against the underside of her jaw.

“We’ve got all the time,” she says, but I hear the tension to it.

“Want to untie me?” I ask her.

She shakes her head. “No, I was planning on leaving you here all day.”

Bridget rolls off the side of her bed and stretches, my eyes raking over her silhouette.

She walks around to my side of the bed, where she leans over and undoes the knot.

I roll my wrists and push myself upright.

Just as she’s about to turn to walk out into the hall and to the bathroom, I grab a hold of her arm and pull her down.

“What is it?” she asks, looking at me with a brightness in her eyes that I haven’t seen before.

I lift her hand and press a kiss to her palm. “I think we should do more of that.” She smirks. “Because that was hot.”

She giggles just as my phone vibrates in my pocket. Bridget reaches down and pulls it out of my pants and throws it to me.

Mom.

“Hey,” I say as I sit up straight. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes, darling, everything is fine,” she says softly.

Bridget sits down on the edge of the bed and smiles at me. Who is it? she mouths.

My mom, I mouth back.

“I was just hoping you and Bridget aren’t busy today.”

“Did you need us to come over?”

She laughs softly. “Can you come to the house for noon?”

I frown suspiciously at her word and Bridget mimics my reaction.

I pull the phone down from my ear and put my mom on loud speaker. “She’s with me right now,” I tell her.

“Hi, Helen,” Bridget says, leaning closer to me.

“Hello, darling,” my mom replies warmly. “Would you both be able to come by the house around noon? I have a surprise for you two.”

Bridget waits for me to nod before she looks down at the phone. “We’ll be there.”

“Wonderful!” My mom beams. “Oh! Wear something nice.”

She hangs up and leaves the two of us sitting on Bridget’s bed looking each other with nervous glances. “What do you think it is?”

“Not sure,” I admit, reaching over to touch the soft skin on the inside of her knee. “I need to go home and get some clothes. Can I meet you back here in an hour?”

Bridget leans forward and rests her forehead to mine. “Of course. See you soon.” She gets up and heads into the bathroom without a second glance, and I’m sitting on her bed wondering how lucky I am to call her mine.

Bridget’s outside and waiting when I pull up to the curb.

My mouth grows dry at the sight of her in the red dress she’s wearing.

It hugs her figure beautifully and sits off her shoulders, exposing her collarbones.

I have to fight every urge to get out my car, throw her over my shoulder, and take her upstairs.

She holds my hand in the car on the drive to my parents’ place, her fingertips brushing over my knuckles. The two of us ride in silence, and it’s not long until we’re pulling up in front of my parents’ house.

Avery’s car is out the front, parked behind Patrick’s, and I park against the curb. I get out of the car, and just as I’m rounding the hood and making my way toward Bridget, I see her narrowed eyes.

“What is it?” I ask, reaching for her hand.

She takes in and slowly stands. “That’s my mom’s car.”

I follow her line of gaze and look over at the silver coupe parked on the other side of the street. “Huh, maybe they’ve planned a family dinner?”

Bridget doesn’t look convinced, and I don’t like the cautious look in her eyes. “Elias, I don’t like the look of this.”

I lean forward and rest my forehead against hers. “It’ll be fine, baby.” She sighs. “Trust me.”
