Chapter 24

AXEL

Two months later

Christmas and the New Year pass all too quickly.

Zach hasn’t shown his face since that first day in court.

His attorney was scrambling to appease the judge, but he ultimately decided in Alexis’ favor.

She was granted custody of her two kids and a new, permanent restraining order.

She decided to leave the state for a fresh start.

Lenny and Wren would have won even if Zach had decided to show up, of that, I’m sure.

The judge would have never let him near those kids or his ex-wife again.

Wren has been going to therapy every week and has really made progress. I went with her a few times, at her request, and it was so good to see her working through things herself. I can only do so much to help her, and I’m glad that she knew she needed professional help.

Grayson has been back at the clubhouse full-time for the last two weeks. He was just in time to start the final planning for the patch in party we’re having for Noah and Levi.

They have officially finished their prospecting period and are ready to be fully fledged members of the club. We voted on it last week and it was unanimous for both of them.

They know that it’s coming, but they don’t know what we have in store for them.

“Did you hire the strippers?” Atlas asks as he wiggles his eyebrows.

“Yeah,” Cole smirks. “The girls weren’t too happy that we didn’t ask them.”

“That’s because they’re used to the two of you showering them with attention,” Cane chuckles as he gestures between Cole and Nash.

Nash shakes his head and smiles wickedly. “They’re just addicted to the orgasms.”

I roll my eyes. “We’re not here to talk about your sex lives.”

“I don’t mind,” Luke murmurs, garnering a few laughs.

“Of course, you don’t,” I mutter dryly, smirking in his direction.

He smiles softly in response. We haven’t had a moment to talk to each other about what he said, it’s almost like he’s avoiding me, but I’m not mad any longer.

I know he probably blames himself for what happened, but Wren and I don’t.

Sometimes we say shit we don’t mean and sometimes it leads to bad things happening.

It doesn’t mean we wanted those bad things to happen.

“Okay, children,” Grayson grumbles from the head of the table.

“We’ve got members from multiple charters coming in for the party.

A few of them are staying here, but most of them are staying at the hotel in town.

Make sure they feel welcome. They’re bringing some club sluts with them, so all you single brothers can explore something different. ”

I see Cole and Nash smile at that. They love meeting new women who are okay with them sharing her.

It’s their thing and a lot of women eat up the attention.

Hence why Ana and Lucy got defensive over the strippers coming.

I’m sure they’ve already been made aware that Cole and Nash aren’t going to choose one of them, or even both.

They’re good girls, but if they were old lady material, one of the guys would have swooped them up already.

“Ace and Theo will be on watch for the evening, along with a few of the prospects from other charters, and after the party, we need to start thinking hard about who we want to take on as new prospects.”

Prospects have to be sponsored by someone from the club or be someone that we know as a hang around who has proved themselves to us. We can’t just let some random man into the club in case they could be working for the police. We skim the line of the law, here.

“I think I have someone in mind,” I tell him.

My cousin Daryl is twenty and seems to be a little confused about what he wants in his life. He’s a good kid who has gotten into trouble a few times, but he can’t quite find where he fits in this world. The club could be really good for him.

“Good,” Grayson murmurs. “The ladies are going to help Chef with the food, and they insist on decorations.”

Rowan smiles and shakes his head. “Of course, they do.”

“Just don’t let them make it too girly,” Atlas says with a shiver, like the thought disgusts him.

“You try telling them that,” I mutter.

Atlas’ face drops. “No, thanks.”

We all laugh.

“Seriously, though,” Grayson chuckles. “We have a lot to be proud of right now. Noah and Levi have been great prospects, and I think we can expect great things from them in the future. They’re good men and good brothers.”

Everyone around the table pounds their fists in agreement.

“Let’s welcome them with a great party!” Grayson cheers before banging the gavel.
